Abstract
An efficient one-pot synthetic route to highly substituted cyclopropanes has been developed from readily available α,β-unsaturated nitriles and doubly activated methylene compounds under very mild conditions in a highly diastereoselective manner, which involves halogenation, Michael addition and intramolecular ring-closing reaction sequences.

Abstract
The dipeptide isostere 5-aminothiophene carboxylic acid has been combined with L-phenylalanine moieties to provide linear and cyclic hybrid oligopeptides. A suitable protecting group strategy and appropriate coupling methods have been developed to guarantee a high degree of enantiopurity of the resulting amides. Cyclic tetraamides have been efficiently obtained by macrocyclization of the linear derivatives. In the case of racemized cyclization precursors, two diastereomeric macrocycles (S,S/R,R and meso) have been isolated. Their crystal structures show clear effects of the stereogenic centers on the ring conformations and molecular packing.

Abstract
Furan-derived donor-acceptor-substituted cyclopropanes were reacted with Lawesson's reagent. Depending on the reaction conditions either bisthiophenes or unprecedented cage-like molecules were obtained. Woollins' reagent always led to the respective selenium-containing cage-like compounds.

Abstract
1,1-Cyclopropane aminoketones were efficiently synthesized in high yields by the tandem reaction of α-amino aryl ketones with vinyl sulfonium salts using DBU as the base in CH(2)Cl(2). This methodology was utilized to synthesize 2-benzoyl quinolines.

Abstract
The gold(I)-catalysed cycloisomerisation of appropriately substituted 1,6-cyclopropene-enes proceeds through regioselective electrophilic ring opening of the three-membered ring to generate an alkenyl gold carbenoid that achieves the intramolecular cyclopropanation of the remote olefin. This strategy allows straightforward, highly efficient and diastereoselective access to a variety of substituted 3-oxa- and 3-azabicyclo[4.1.0]heptanes, as well as to bicyclo[4.1.0]heptan-3-ol derivatives. Since the isopropylidene group in the resulting cycloisomerisation products can be subjected to ozonolysis, 3,3-dimethylcyclopropenes behave as interesting surrogates for α-diazoketones.

Abstract
An almost familiar ring: The first enantiospecific [3+2] annulation of donor-acceptor aminocyclopropanes with ketones is reported (see scheme; Phth=phthaloyl). The reaction is catalysed by tin(IV) chloride (5 mol %) at -78 °C and gives aminotetrahydrofurans bearing a quaternary C5 atom in high yield, diastereoselectivity and enantiospecificity (see scheme).
