Abstract
A quantitative measure of the Lewis acidity of common organic solvents is given by the equilibrium constant for complex formation between the solvent and a pi-donor such as an aromatic hydrocarbon. Lewis acidities are reported for 12 solvents from new distribution and vapor-pressure measurements.
