Abstract
(NPr4)2[Cu(MeCN)]2[Cu8(i-mnt)6].(MeCN)0.5.(THF)0.25 is prepared by electrocrystallization of a solution of (NPr(4))(4)[Cu(I)(8)(i-mnt)(6)]; the crystal structure consists in bidimensional layers characterised by coordination of copper atoms by the cyano groups of the iso-maleonitriledithiolate ligand of the octa-copper cluster.

Abstract
Electrochemical behaviour of various metallo cyano adducts of trans-[FeH(CN)(dppe)2], viz. the dinuclear complexes [FeH(dppe)2(μ-CN)PdCl2(PPh3)], [FeH(dppe)2(μ-CN)NiCl2(PCy3)], and trinuclear [{FeH(dppe)2(μ-CN)}2(ReOCl3)], [{FeH(dppe)2(μ-CN)}2PtCl(Ph)] and [{FeX(dppe)2(μ-CN)}2WCl3(OH)] (X = Cl or OH, dppe = 1,2-diphenylphosphinoethane, PCy3 = P(C6H11)3), as well as the benzoylisocyanide mononuclear adduct trans-[FeH(CNCOPh)- (dppe)2], is reported. All of them exhibit FeII/FeIII-based oxidations (which are reversible, except for trans-[FeH(CNCOPh)(dppe)2]). The metallocyanide bridges C≡N-Re-N≡C and C≡N-W-N≡C in [{FeH(dppe)2(μ-CN)}2(ReOCl3)] and [{FeX(dppe)2(μ-CN)}2WCl3(OH)], respectively, allow electronic communication between the iron centres, with possible generation of mixed-valence FeII/FeIII complexes whose comproportionation constant could be estimated in the former case. From the values of the measured oxidation potentials, the electrochemical PL and EL ligand parameters have been estimated for the metallocyanide ligands that were shown to behave as stronger net electron donors than organoisocyanides, although weaker than cyanide itself. Ligand-centred reduction processes were also observed to lead, in the cases of complexes trans-[FeH(CNCOPh)(dppe)2] (CNCOPh-based reduction) and [FeH(dppe)2(μ-CN)PdCl2(PPh3)] (PdII-based reduction in the CNPdCl2(PPh3)- metallocyanide ligand), to the dissociation of the adduct, with regeneration of the parent cyano complex trans-[FeH(CN)(dppe)2], thus reflecting the reductive decrease of the electrophilic (or Lewis acidic) character of the benzoyl and {PdCl2(PPh3)} groups.

Abstract
A novel (mu-nitrido-diruthenium)-bridged 1-D coordination polymer was formed from reaction of K5[Ru2N(CN)10] with [Cu(en)2](ClO4)2; a similar reaction with [Cu(pn)2][(ClO4)2] (pn = 1,3-diaminopropane) gave ([Cu(pn)2]5[Ru2N(CN)10]2) as a discrete molecular compound; variable temperature susceptibility measurements show that there is a weak ferromagnetic interaction between the Cu(II) ions in 1-D polymer.

Abstract
Cyano-mediated interaction of the alternating high-spin Mn(II) centers and low-spin Ru(III) centers in {Mn[Ru(acac)2 (CN)2 ]2 }n (Hacac=acetylacetone) results in long-range ferromagnetic ordering below 3.6 K. This novel Mn(II) Ru(III) coordination polymer, which has a diamond-like structure, was constructed from [Ru(acac)2 (CN)2 ](-) and Mn(2+) ions.

Abstract
The new complex trans-[NCRu(py)(4)(CN)Ru(py)(4)NO](PF(6))(3) (I) was synthesized. In acetonitrile solution, I shows an intense visible band (555 nm, epsilon = 5800 M(-1) cm(-1)) and other absorptions below 350 nm, associated with d(pi) --> pi(py) and pi(py) --> pi(py) transitions. The visible band is presently assigned as a donor-acceptor charge transfer (DACT) transition from the remote Ru(II) to the delocalized [Ru(II)-NO(+)] moiety. Photoinduced release of NO is observed upon irradiation at the DACT band. Application of the Hush model reveals strong electronic coupling, with H(DA) = approximately 2000 cm(-1). The difference between the optical absorption energy and redox potentials for the donor and acceptor sites (Ru(III,II), 1.40 V, and NO(+)/NO, 0.50 V, vs Ag/AgCl, 3 M KCl, respectively) (hnu - DeltaE(red)) is 1.33 eV, a large value which probably relates to the significant changes in distances and angles for the Ru-N-O moiety upon reduction. UV-vis absorptions, IR frequencies, and redox potentials are solvent-dependent. Controlled potential reduction (of NO(+)) and oxidation (of Ru(II) associated with the dicyano-chromophore) of I afford stable species, [NCRu(II)(py)(4)(CN)Ru(py)(4)NO](2+) (I(red)) and [NCRu(III)(py)(4)(CN)Ru(py)(4)NO](4+) (I(ox)), respectively, which are characterized by UV-vis and IR spectroscopies. I(red) shows an EPR spectrum characteristic of [Ru(II)-NO(*)] complexes. Compound I is electrophilically reactive in aqueous solution above pH 5: values of the equilibrium constant for the reaction [NCRu(py)(4)(CN)Ru(py)(4)NO](3+)+ 2 OH(-) <--> [NCRu(py)(4)(CN)Ru(py)(4)NO(2)](+) + H(2)O, K = 3.2 +/- 1.4 x 10(15) M(-2), and of the rate constant for the nucleophilic addition of OH(-), k = 9.2 +/- 0.2 x 10(3) M(-1) s(-1)(25 degrees C, I = 1 M), are obtained, with DeltaH = 90.7 +/- 3.8 kJ mol(-1) and DeltaS = 135 +/- 13 J K(-1) mol(-1). The oxidized complex, I(ox), shows an enhanced electrophilic reactivity toward OH(-). This addition reaction is followed by irreversible processes, which most probably lead to disproportionation of bound nitrite and other products.

Abstract
The structures of three closely related heterodimetallic cyano complexes, [(NC)(5)Pt-Tl(CN)(n)()](n)()(-) (n = 1-3), formed in reactions between [Pt(II)(CN)(4)](2)(-) and Tl(III) cyano complexes, have been studied in aqueous solution. Multinuclear NMR data ((205)Tl, (195)Pt, and (13)C) were used for identification and quantitative analysis. X-ray absorption spectra were recorded at the Pt and Tl L(III) edges. The EXAFS data show, after developing a model describing the extensive multiple scattering within the linearly coordinated cyano ligands, short Pt-Tl bond distances in the [(NC)(5)Pt-Tl(CN)(n)()](n)()(-) complexes: 2.60(1), 2.62(1), and 2.64(1) A for n = 1-3, respectively. Thus, the Pt-Tl bond distance increases with increasing number of cyano ligands on the thallium atom. In all three complexes the thallium atom and five cyano ligands, with a mean Pt-C distance of 2.00-2.01 A, octahedrally coordinate the platinum atom. In the hydrated [(NC)(5)Pt-Tl(CN)(H(2)O)(4)](-) species the thallium atom coordinates one cyano ligand, probably as a linear Pt-Tl-CN entity with a Tl-C bond distance of 2.13(1) A, and possibly four loosely bound water molecules with a mean Tl-O bond distance of about 2.51 A. In the [(NC)(5)Pt-Tl(CN)(2)](2)(-) species, the thallium atom probably coordinates the cyano ligands trigonally with two Tl-C bond distances at 2.20(2) A, and in [(NC)(5)Pt-Tl(CN)(3)](3)(-) Tl coordinates tetrahedrally with three Tl-C distances at 2.22(2) A. EXAFS data were reevaluated for previously studied mononuclear thallium(III)-cyano complexes in aqueous solution, [Tl(CN)(2)(H(2)O)(4)](+), [Tl(CN)(3)(H(2)O)], and [Tl(CN)(4)](-), and also for the solid K[Tl(CN)(4)] compound. A comparison shows that the Tl-C bond distances are longer in the dinuclear complexes [(NC)(5)Pt-Tl(CN)(n)()](n)()(-) (n = 1-3) for the same coordination number. Relative oxidation states of the metal atoms were estimated from their (195)Pt and (205)Tl chemical shifts, confirming that the [(NC)(5)Pt-Tl(CN)(n)()](n)()(-) complexes can be considered as metastable intermediates in a two-electron-transfer redox reaction from platinum(II) to thallium(III). Vibrational spectra were recorded and force constants from normal-coordinate analyses are used for discussing the delocalized bonding in these species.
