Abstract
Rhodium catalysis has been extensively used for ortho-C-H functionalization reactions, and successfully extended to meta-C-H functionalization. Its application to para-C-H activation remains an unmet challenge. Herein we disclose the first example of such a reaction, with the Rh-catalyzed para-C-H olefination of arenes. The use of a Si-linked cyanobiphenyl unit as a traceless directing group leads to highly para-selective arene-olefin couplings.

Abstract
An attractive method for the synthesis of indoline-7-carboxylates through RhCl3-catalyzed C-H carbonylation of indolines with CO and alcohols was developed. The copper-based oxidant and removable pyrimidyl directing group played important roles in achieving high-level yields of the title products. Based on control experiments, a possible catalytic cycle was proposed.

Abstract
The reaction of N-heteroaromatic compounds, such as 2-aryl-pyrrole, benzimidazole, imidazole, indole, and pyrazole derivatives, with alkynes in the presence of a catalytic amount of a nickel complex results in C-H/N-H oxidative annulation. The reaction shows a high functional group compatibility. While both Ni(0) and Ni(ii) complexes show a high catalytic activity, Ni(0) is proposed as a key catalytic species in the main catalytic cycle. In the case of the Ni(ii) system, the presence of a catalytic amount of a strong base, such as KOBu t , is required for the reaction to proceed. In sharp contrast, a base is not required in the case of the Ni(0) system. The proposed mechanism is supported by DFT studies.

Abstract
Weinreb amides are a privileged, multi-functional group with well-established utility in classical synthesis. Recently, several studies have demonstrated the use of Weinreb amides as interesting substrates in transition metal-catalyzed C-H functionalization reactions. Herein, we review this part of the literature, including the metal catalysts, transformations explored so far and specific insights from mechanistic studies.

Abstract
Rh-Catalyzed site-selective C–H activation and ring opening/cyclization of 7-azabenzonorbornadienes with aryl-2H-indazoles is developed to furnish indazolyl-benzocarbazole frameworks. Substrate scope and mechanistic studies are important practical features.
