Abstract
Stachyodin A, possessing a unique spirotetrahydrofuran ring system, was isolated from the roots of Indigofera stachyodes in 2018. The first total synthesis of racemic stachyodin A was accomplished in 14 steps. The efficient stereoselective synthetic route involved one-pot Suzuki coupling and stereocontrolled epoxidation followed by reductive opening and spirocyclization.

Abstract
A Pd(II)-catalyzed mild and highly regioselective 6- endo cyclization/allylation reaction of enynoates with simple allylic alcohols has been developed. Under mild reaction conditions, the vinyl palladium species generated in situ after cyclization could insert C-C double bond of allylic alcohol through cross-coupling reaction and lead to the formation of allyl pyrone via β-OH elimination. This cascade cross-coupling reaction represents a direct and atom economic methodology for the construction of novel allyl pyrones in moderate to good yields.

Abstract
Covering: up to January 2017This review gives a comprehensive overview of the production of fungal volatiles, including the history of the discovery of the first compounds and their distribution in the various investigated strains, species and genera, as unravelled by modern analytical methods. Biosynthetic aspects and the accumulated knowledge about the bioactivity and biological functions of fungal volatiles are also covered. A total number of 325 compounds is presented in this review, with 247 cited references.

Abstract
We herein described the synthesis of several 3-benzyl-2,5-diarylselenophene derivatives in moderate to good yields using (Z)-benzylselenoenynes as starting material in carbocyclization reactions. The reactions were carried out under mild conditions using only t-BuOK as base, in the complete absence of transition metals or additives. The cyclized 3-benzyl-2,5-diarylselenophenes obtained in the current protocol appear highly promising and attractive intermediates for the synthesis of polysubstituted selenophenes. For instance, 3-benzyl-2,5-diphenylselenophene was treated with Br(2) provided the corresponding 3-benzyl-4-bromo-2,5-diphenylselenophene in high yield. 4-Bromoselenophene derivative was applied as substrate in the palladium catalyzed cross-coupling reactions with boronic acids to give the Suzuki type products in excellent yields.

Abstract
The "aglycone" of pluraflavin A (2) has been synthesized. The key features of this synthesis include a 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition between a nitrile oxide (cf. 14) and an olefin (22) to yield an isoxazoline followed by subsequent conversion into the gamma-pyrone of pluraflavin A. The epoxide moiety linked to the pyrone is installed prior to Diels-Alder installation of the D ring, which allows access to a number of potentially active cytotoxic intermediates en route to the final compound. The preliminary in vitro results of two such compounds are also included with the racemic title compound exhibiting cytotoxicity in the nanomolar range.

The Sonogashira cross-coupling of 4,6-dichloro-2-pyrone with terminal acetylenes proceeds in good yields and high regioselectivity for the 6-position; dibenzylidene acetone (dba) type ligands play a non-innocent role in reactions mediated by Pd(dba)2/PPh3; theoretical studies indicate that C-6 oxidative addition is favoured both kinetically and thermodynamically.

Abstract

Six new 2-ethoxy-2H-1,2-oxaphosphorin 2-oxides were synthesized with high regioselectivity in good yields via Ag(2)CO(3)-catalyzed cyclization of (Z)-2-alken-4-ynylphosphonic monoesters in CH(2)Cl(2) at room temperature. This cyclization of P-OH to substituted alkynes is reported for the first time. The products are a class of phosphorus heterocycles with potential use and are heretofore prepared with difficulty.

6-Exo-dig and/or 7-endo-dig iodocyclization reactions of functionalized acetylenic derivatives with ICl are disfavored in comparison with the corresponding electrophilic addition reactions providing regioselectively (E)-1-chloro-2-iodoethene derivatives. On the contrary, 6-endo-digand 5-exo-dig iodocyclizations of methyl ynoates with ICl seem to be favored in comparison with the corresponding electrophilic addition reactions.
