Abstract
To synthesize complexes with thorium-phosphorus multiple-bond character, reactions of (C5Me5)2Th[P(H)Mes]2 with monovalent alkali-metal bases, MN(SiMe3)2, as well as CuMes, have been investigated. The results with MN(SiMe3)2 are phosphinidiide complexes of the form {(C5Me5)2Th[μ2-P(Mes)][μ2-P(H)Mes]M(L)n}2 (M = Na, n = 0; M = K, L = THF, n = 1; M = Rb, L = THF, n = 1; M = Cs, L = Et2O, n = 1). With CuMes, the product is a Th2Cu3P5 heterometallic structure, {(C5Me5)2Th[(μ2-P(H)Mes)P(Mes)]Cu}2Cu[μ2-P(H)Mes]. All complexes have been characterized using heteronuclear NMR and IR spectroscopy, density functional theory calculations, and their solid-state structure identified by X-ray crystallography. We also report the structure of {(C5Me5)2Th[(μ2-As(H)Mes)As(Mes)]Cu}2Cu[μ2-As(H)Mes] obtained from (C5Me5)2Th[As(H)Mes]2 with CuMes.

Abstract
Cp*AsCl2 (Cp* = C5Me5) reacts with one equivalent of LGa (L = HC[C(Me)N(2,6- i-Pr2C6H3)]2) with formation of L(Cl)GaAs(Cl)Cp* 1, whereas the reaction with two equivalents of LGa yielded gallaarsene LGaAsCp* 2 containing a Ga═As double bond and (η1-Ga(Cp*)L(η2-GaL)(μ-As3) 3. Compounds 2 and 3 were structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, and the π-bonding contribution in 2 was analyzed by temperature-dependent 1H NMR spectroscopy (9.65 kcal mol-1) and by quantum mechanical computation.

Abstract
The coordination behavior of [[CpMo(CO)(2)}(2)(mu,eta(2)-Sb(2))] (1; Cp = cyclopentadiene) toward Cu(I) was investigated. Its reaction with CuX (X = Br, Cl, and I) produced oligomers or polymers of the general formula [[CpMo(CO)(2)](2)(mu,eta(2)-Sb(2))(mu-CuX)](n). While 2 (X = Cl, n = 2) and 3 (X = Br, n = 2) proved to be halogen-bridged dimers in both solution and solid state, the molecules of 4 (X = I, n = infinity) self-assembled in the crystal forming a linear polymer with a Cu-I skeleton supported by Sb-Cu bonds. The reaction of 1 with Cu[GaCl(4)] resulted in the formation of the ionic complex [[CpMo(CO)(2)](2)(mu,eta(2)-Sb(2))](4)Cu(2)[GaCl(4)](2) (5). Its dication contains four [[CpMo(CO)(2)](2)(mu,eta(2)-Sb(2))] ligands arranged around a Cu-Cu dumbbell. All new compounds were characterized using IR, electrospray ionization mass spectrometry, (1)H NMR, elemental analysis, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The ligand was oxidized by both silver(I) and copper(II), and a cyclovoltammetric study revealed that 1 suffered irreversible reduction and oxidation in a dichloromethane solution at -2.04 and 0.10 V, respectively, versus ferrocene.
