Abstract
Many years ago, twelve principles were defined for carrying out chemical reactions and processes from a green chemistry perspective. It is everyone's endeavor to take these points into account as far as possible when developing new processes or improving existing ones. Especially in the field of organic synthesis, a new area of research has thus been established: micellar catalysis. This review article addresses the question of whether micellar catalysis is green chemistry by applying the twelve principles to micellar reaction media. The review shows that many reactions can be transferred from an organic solvent to a micellar medium, but that the surfactant also has a crucial role as a solubilizer. Thus, the reactions can be carried out in a much more environmentally friendly manner and with less risk. Moreover, surfactants are being reformulated in their design, synthesis, and degradation to add extra advantages to micellar catalysis to match all the twelve principles of green chemistry.

Abstract
4-Nitrophenylacetylene-functionalized Cu2O rhombic dodecahedra and cubes have been used to photocatalyze aryl sulfide oxidation generating aryl sulfoxides. With an oxygen supply and light from a blue light-emitting diode (LED), the reaction can be completed in 12 h with a water and methanol mixed solution. Generally high product yields and excellent product selectivity of sulfoxides over sulfones were achieved. In particular, a thioanisole to methyl phenyl sulfoxide yield of 98% was obtained. A mechanistic study has revealed that photogenerated electrons, holes, and superoxide radicals are involved in the oxidation reaction. The benefit of simple photocatalyst preparation and molecular functionalization to boost catalytic performance shows that surface-controlled ionic solids can be very effective photocatalysts for some organic transformations.

Abstract
Surfactant, either natural or synthetic, forms a different type of aggregates among which 'Micelle' is truly an important dynamic surfactant aggregate, having a different region to interact with several organic, inorganic, and biomolecules; therefore the practical use of micelle is rapidly growing day-to-day. Surfactant-micelle, looks like a reactor of nano-dimension, govern a variety of reactions in aqueous media extensively. Oxidation is one of the vital reaction, take a part in the course of several organic transformations which are not very easy to execute in water media alone due to the solubility problem. Moreover, in order to achieve a quick transformation overcoming several difficulties the utility of micellar media became an excellent innovation, that's why nowadays, the surfactant and its aggregates are a focus of interest to the researcher of synthetic field and thus its practical applicability has been tremendously cultivated over the few decades. It is, therefore, useful to introduce some basic concepts regarding the aggregation of surfactants. Subsequently, we emphasize the importance of micellar media on the kinetics of oxidation reactions mediated by several metal ions with a special emphasis on their catalytic role.

Abstract
A highly chemoselective, efficient and nano-Pd catalyzed protocol for the rapid construction of sulfoxides and sulfones via the oxidation of symmetrical and unsymmetrical sulfides using H2O2 as an oxidant has been developed, respectively. The ready availability of starting materials, easy recovery and reutilization of the catalyst, wide substrate scope, and high yields make this protocol an attractive alternative. The process also involves the metal-free and microwave-promoted synthesis of symmetrical diarylsulfides, and FeCl3-mediated preparation of symmetrical diaryldisulfides through the reaction of arenediazonium tetrafluoroborates with Na2S·9H2O as a sulfur source. In addition, unsymmetrical sulfides were generated via the K2CO3-mediated reaction of arenediazonium tetrafluoroborates with symmetrical disulfides.

Abstract
There is a need for the preparation of enantiomerically pure compounds for various applications. An efficient approach to achieve this goal is asymmetric catalysis. The chiral catalyst is usually prepared from a chiral auxiliary, which itself is derived from a natural product or by resolution of a racemic precursor. The use of non-enantiopure chiral auxiliaries in asymmetric catalysis seems unattractive to preparative chemists, since the anticipated enantiomeric excess (ee) of the reaction product should be proportional to the ee value of the chiral auxiliary (linearity). In fact, some deviation from linearity may arise. Such nonlinear effects can be rich in mechanistic information and can be synthetically useful (asymmetric amplification). This Review documents the advances made during the last decade in the use of nonlinear effects in the area of organometallic and organic catalysis.
