Abstract
The novel hybrids with 1,2,3-triazole and polyhydroquinoline scaffolds were successfully synthesized by multicomponent reaction of propargyloxybenzaldehyde, 1,3-cyclohexadione, ethylacetoacetate and ammonium acetate followed through click reaction in the presence of deep eutectic solvent ChCl/ZnCl2 as an efficient catalyst. Their anti-leishmanial activity was evaluated against amastigote and promastigote forms of L. tropica, L. major, and two different species of L. infantum. Furthermore, to determine the cytotoxicity of the hybrids, they were evaluated against the murine macrophage cell line J774.A1. Based on the results, three hybrids showed the highest antileishmanial activity. However, they revealed low cytotoxicity. Hybrid 6j was the most potent compound against both the forms of all leishmanial types, with IC50 = 13.5 and 11.9 µg/mL for L. major, 37.5 and 25 µg/mL for L. tropica, 17.5 and 20 µg/mL for L. infantum (MCAN/IR//96/LON49) and 35.5 and 30 µg/mL for L. infantum (MCAN/ES/98/LIM-877), respectively. Finally, molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulations were also performed to identify possible mechanism antileishmanial activity.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Sarma.

Abstract
The new recyclable cobalt three-core magnetic catalyst obtained by anchoring a Schiff base ligand sector and cellulose nanofiber slings on MNP (Fe3O4) was prepared and named as MNP@CNF@ATSM-Co(ii). Separately, MNPs and CNF have adsorbent properties of great interest. In this way, this catalyst was designed to synthesize piperidine derivatives under solvent-free conditions and alcohol oxidation reactions in EtOH as the solvent. It should be noted that this catalyst is environmentally safe and does not need an external base. This MNPs@CNF@ATSM-Co(ii) separable catalyst has been evaluated using various characterization techniques such as FT-IR, XRD, FE-SEM, EDX, EDS, ICP, TGA, DLS, HRTEM, and VSM. The catalyst was compatible with a variety of benzyl alcohols, benzaldehydes, and amines derivatives, and gave complimentary coupling products with sufficient interest for all of them. The synergistic performance of Co (trinuclear) in the catalyst was demonstrated and its different homologs such as MNPs, MNPs@CNF, MNPs@CNF@ATS-Co(ii), and MNPs@CNF@ATSM-Co(ii) were separately synthesized and applied to a model reaction, and then their catalytic activity was investigated. Also, the performance of these components for the oxidation reaction of alcohols was evaluated. The advantages of the current protocol include the use of a sustainable and safe low temperature, eco-friendly solvent no additive, and long-term stability and magnetic recyclability of the catalyst for at least five successive runs, thus following green chemistry principles. This protocol is a benign and environment-friendly method for oxidation and heterocycle synthesis. This powerful super-magnetic catalyst can use its three arms to advance the reactions, displaying its power for multi-component reactions and oxidation.

Abstract
The evaluation of the significance of a chemical transformation addresses many factors, including such important characteristics as the number of chemical bonds formed in one step, the reaction time, labour intensity, the cost of reactants and catalysts and so on. The amount of waste produced in the reaction has also gained increasing importance in recent years. Multicomponent reactions (MCRs) occupy a special place as a synthetic tool in modern organic chemistry. These reactions allow the synthesis of target products with complex structures, minimizing labour costs. This review summarizes the literature on multicomponent reactions involving five or more components. The data in the review are classified according to the number of reactants participating in the reaction and the types of reactions. It is worth noting that in some cases, these transformations can be a part of a domino process, making this classification difficult, if not impossible. The structural diversity of the reaction products greatly increases with increasing number of components involved in the MCR, which becomes virtually unlimited when using combinations of MCRs. This review highlights the main trends of past decades in the field of MCRs. The last two decades have witnessed an explosive growth in the number of publications in this area of chemistry.
The bibliography includes 309 references.

Abstract
A cycloaurated phosphinothioic amide gold(III) complex was supported on amorphous silica with the aid of an imidazolium ionic liquid (IL) physisorbed in the SiO₂ pores (SiO₂⁻IL) and covalently bonded to the SiO₂ (SiO₂@IL). Gold(0) nanoparticles (AuNPs) were formed in situ and subsequently immobilized on the SiO₂⁻IL/SiO₂@IL phase. The resulting catalytic systems Au⁻SiO₂⁻IL and Au⁻SiO₂@IL promoted the solvent-free A³ coupling reaction of alkynes, aldehydes, and amines in high yields under solvent-free conditions with very low catalyst loading and without the use of additives. The Au⁻SiO₂@IL catalyst showed good recyclability and could be reused at least five times with yields of propargylamines of ≥80%. This synthetic method provides a green and low cost way to effectively prepare propargylamines. Additionally, 31P high resolution magic angle spinning (HRMAS) NMR spectroscopy is introduced as a simple technique to establish the Au loading of the catalyst.

Abstract
The use of solid catalysts to promote organic reactions in water faces the inherent difficulty of the poor mass-transfer efficiency of organic substances in water, which is often responsible for insufficient reaction and low yields. To solve this problem, the solid surface can be manipulated to become amphiphilic. However, the introduction of surfactant-like moieties onto the surface of silica-based materials is not easy. By using an accessible dihydropyran derivative as a grafting linker, a surfactant-combined bifunctional silica-based solid catalyst that possessed an ionic liquid tail and a metal acetylacetonate moiety was prepared through a mild Lewis-acid-catalyzed ring-opening reaction with a thiol-functionalized silica. The surfactant-combined silica-supported metal acetylacetone catalysts displayed excellent catalytic activity in water for a range of reactions. The solid catalyst was also shown to be recyclable, and was reused several times without significant loss in activity.

Abstract
We report a versatile approach in which two highly efficient chemical reactions, multicomponent A3 coupling and alkyne-azide click chemistry, are combined to construct dendrimer-based tools for applications in biology. Using a convergent approach, dendrons with desired architecture and an alkyne at the focal point are first assembled and then stitched together via multicomponent A3 coupling reaction. The desired functional groups, including a stealth agent, imaging dye, and drug molecules, could be easily covalently linked to the surfaces of these hyperbranched macromolecules using alkyne-azide click chemistry. These A3-click dendrimers are noncytotoxic at concentrations as high as 1 μM and in fact reduce the toxicity of the drug. The dye-coated dendrimers specifically target and localize in lipid droplets. This unison methodology represents an attractive chemical strategy in exploiting the untapped potential of A3 coupling and facilitating the development of nanodevices for imaging and drug delivery.

Abstract
The catalytic efficiency of mixed Cu(I)-Cu(II) system in situ generated by partial reduction of CuSO(4) with glucose in ethanol (nonanhydrous) under open air has been explored. With this catalysis, the multicomponent cascade reaction of A(3)-coupling of heterocyclic amidine with aldehyde and alkyne, 5-exo-dig cycloisomerization, and prototropic shift has afforded an efficient and eco-friendly synthesis of therapeutically important versatile N-fused imidazoles. Diverse heterocyclic amidines, several of which are known to be poorly reactive, and aldehydes are compatible in this catalytic process.

Abstract
Isoindolinone derivatives are important pharmaceutical building blocks in medicinal chemistry. Isoindolo[2,1-a]quinolines are a class of interesting compounds that possess protective effects against N2-induced hypoxia and inhibitory activities against human topoisomerase II and bacterial DNA-gyrase. The conventional methods for synthesizing these compounds are unsatisfactory because of their harsh reaction conditions, complex starting materials, and multistaged purification procedures. This synthesis of the propargyl-isoindolinone core features an aldehyde–alkyne–amine (A3) coupling-based tandem strategy using methyl 2-formylbenzoate, primary aryl amine, and terminal alkyne under Cu(OTf)2 catalysis.

Abstract
Polysubstituted dihydropyrazoles were directly obtained by a gold-catalyzed three-component annulation. This reaction consists of a Mannich-type coupling of alkynes with N,N'-disubstituted hydrazines and aldehydes/ketones followed by intramolecular hydroamination. Cascade cyclization using 1,2-dialkynylbenzene derivatives as the alkyne component was also performed producing fused tricyclic dihydropyrazoles in good yields.

Abstract
A highly atom-economic one-pot synthesis of functionalized tetrahydropyridines by a multicomponent condensation reaction of β-keto ester, two equivalents of aromatic aldehyde, and two equivalents of amine in the presence of a catalytic amount of cerium ammonium nitrate (CAN) is reported. In this way, a series of pharmacologically interesting substituted piperidine derivatives were obtained in moderate to good yields at room temperature.
