Abstract
Electrochemical reduction of N-Boc-α-aminosulfones in DMF using an undivided cell equipped with a Pt plate cathode and an Mg rod anode under atmospheric pressure of bubbling carbon dioxide through the solution under constant current conditions resulted in a reductive C-S bond cleavage with elimination of benzenesulfinate ion generating the corresponding anion species followed by fixation of carbon dioxide to give the corresponding N-Boc-α-amino acids in moderate to good yields.

Abstract
A copper/prolinol-phosphine chiral catalyst enabled the one-step synthesis of chiral α-alkylidene-β-lactams. Optimization of the chiral ligand for steric and electronic properties realized the highly enantioselective coupling of nitrones and propargyl alcohol derived alkynes. The resulting chiral α-alkylidene-β-lactams served as a platform for various β-lactams via well-established transformations of α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds.

Abstract
α-Amido sulfones can be directly used as N-acylimine or N-acyliminium ion precursors in several synthetic processes aimed at the preparation of nitrogen containing compounds. This review collects the most relevant and practical utilizations of α-amido sulfones appeared in the literature after 2005.

Abstract
An aerobic oxidation of allylic alcohols using Fe(NO3)3·9H2O/TEMPO/NaCl as catalysts under atmospheric pressure of oxygen at room temperature was developed. This eco-friendly and mild protocol provides a convenient pathway to the synthesis of stereodefined α,β-unsaturated enals or enones with the retention of the C-C double-bond configuration.
