Abstract
Herein, a copper catalyzed asymmetric propargylation of 2-oxindole-3-carboxylate esters with terminal propargylic esters is described. This strategy successfully provides a direct approach to constructing a broad range of chiral C3-tetrasubstituted oxindoles with contiguous tertiary and quaternary carbon stereocenters in high yields and excellent enantioselectivities (16 examples, up to 99% yield and 98% ee). Moreover, the diastereoisomers of the two newly formed stereocenters can be separated by silica gel chromatography, thereby providing a valuable stereoselective access to all four possible stereoisomers of C3-tetrasubstituted oxindoles. Herein, a copper catalyzed asymmetric propargylation of 2-oxindole-3-carboxylate esters with terminal propargylic esters is described.![]()

Abstract
A catalytic system-controlled divergent reaction strategy was here reported to construct four types of intriguing spiroheterocyclic skeletons from simple and readily available starting materials via a precise chemical bond activation/[n+1] annulation cascade. The tetraazaspiroheterocyclic and trizazspiroheterocyclic scaffolds could be independently constructed by a selective N-N bond activation/[n+1] annulation cascade, a C(sp2 )-H activation/[4+1] annulation and a novel tandem C(sp2 )-H/C(sp3 )-H bond activation/[4+1] annulation strategy, along with a broad scope of substrates, moderate to excellent yields and valuable transformations. More importantly, in these transformations, we are the first time to capture a N-N bond activation and a C(sp3 )-H bond activation of pyrazolidinones under different catalytic system.

Abstract
A chiral N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC)-catalyzed formal [4 + 2] annulation of β-methyl substituted enals with isatins was developed to construct six-membered spirolactones bearing highly congested quaternary carbon stereocentersin good yields and high enantioselectivities. The strategy realized a challenging remote γ-carbon addition of enals and chiral control of β-methyl substituted enals in the presence of the NHC catalyst only.

Abstract
Our findings on the bifunctional squaramide-catalyzed enantioselective conjugate addition of β-ketoamides to nitroolefins are disclosed. It appears that simple acyclic methylene β-ketoamides, unlike the extensively studied β-ketoesters, afford the products in excellent diastereoselectivities, and maintain high yields and enantioselectivities. Moreover, competition and kinetic studies were conducted to rationalize the observed reactivity and selectivity. The high level of diastereocontrol, along with the amenability of the amide group to postfunctionalization, dramatically increase the synthetic usefulness of the transformation.

Abstract
A conjugate-base-stabilized Brønsted acid facilitates catalytic enantioselective Pictet-Spengler reactions with unmodified tryptamine. The chiral carboxylic acid catalyst is readily assembled in just two steps and enables the formation of β-carbolines with up to 92% ee. Achiral acid additives or in situ Boc-protection facilitate catalyst turnover.

Abstract
A challenging asymmetric reaction (aza-Michael addition of imides to enones) has been optimized through an integrated approach involving the synthesis of a family of organocatalysts, multiple catalysis (usage of additives), and finally with rational exploration of the chemical space by the application of the experiment design.
