Abstract
We have gold-catalyzed C-N cross-couplings of aryl iodides with aliphatic nitriles. Although nitriles are usually challenging nitrogen cross-coupling partners, they could be activated by base-mediated deprotonation and isomerization. The method utilizes widely available substrates in moderate to good yields to provide various N-aryl compounds. In addition, a similar strategy could be extended to the cross-couplings of aryl iodides with silver cyanate. The protocol features high humidity/air tolerance and works inter- and intramolecularly.

Abstract
Herein, a visible-light-induced nickel-catalyzed cross-coupling of aryl bromide with nitrile has been reported. By utilization of readily available nitriles as carbonyl precursors, a range of structurally diverse aryl ketones were facilely constructed. The synthetic simplicity, mild reaction conditions, and acidic functional group tolerance would broaden the synthetic utilities of this developed protocol as an expedient alternative to Grignard/organolithium protocols.

Abstract
A novel and convenient palladium-catalyzed direct oxidative amidation of quinoxalin-2(1H)-ones with acetonitrile was developed to synthesize 3-amidated quinoxalin-2(1H)-ones. A series of 3-acetamino quinoxalin-2(1H)-one derivatives were constructed with good to excellent yields. This methodology provided a practical approach to various 3-acetamino quinoxalin-2(1H)-ones from the readily available starting material acetonitrile.

Abstract
Metal oxide nanoparticles (NPs) stabilized by porous carbon materials (PCMs) are very promising for catalysis. In this work, monodispersed small and stable copper oxide (CuO) NPs were prepared with an average size of 10-20 nm without using any capping agent and then these NPs were encapsulated into porous carbon. The chemical and structural properties of the CuO/PCM material were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and nitrogen sorption. The obtained CuO/PCM nanocatalytic system has been used for the synthesis of N-arylamides from the reaction of aldoximes and aryl halides. Generally, copper(II) salt was used for the preparation of amides from aldoximes using some ligands and bases, but harsh reaction condition, stoichiometric amount of metal, and lack of recyclability limit their applications in industry. An alternative method is the use of heterogeneous catalysts. More importantly, these heterogeneous catalysts could be easily recycled and reused, showing potential application in organic synthesis.

Abstract
Aryl amides are efficiently synthesized from the rearrangement of triazolines, which formed in the base-catalyzed azide–aldehyde cycloaddtion.
Aryl amides have been used as important compounds in pharmaceuticals, materials and in molecular catalysis. The methods reported to prepare aryl amides generally require very specific reagents, and the most popular carboxyl–amine coupling reactions demand stoichiometric activators. Herein, we report that aryl azides react with aldehydes under base-catalyzed conditions to yield aryl amides efficiently. Mechanistic investigations support the formation of triazoline intermediates via azide–enolate cycloaddition, which subsequently undergo rearrangement to give amides by either thermal decomposition (20–140 °C) or aqueous acid work-up at room temperature. The strategy does not require nucleophilic anilines and is especially efficient for highly electron-deficient aryl amides, including perfluoroaryl amides, which are otherwise challenging to synthesize.
