Abstract
An iron-catalyzed selective N=S coupling of N-methoxy amides and sulfoxides has been developed and was found to be a highly efficient method for the synthesis of N-acyl sulfoximines. Electron-donating as well as electron-withdrawing groups on the phenyl ring are tolerated, and even sensitive substituents are compatible. The current catalytic transformation was conducted under an air atmosphere and can be easily scaled up to a gram scale with a catalyst loading of only 1 mol %. In this case, both coupling partners are used in their native forms, thus obviating prior functionalization and activation.

Abstract
We have introduced a sulfoximidation reaction initiated by visible light between α-phenyl vinyl azides and NH-sulfoximines. The cost-effective and readily accessible hypervalent iodine reagent (PIDA) easily promoted the oxidative sulfoximidation process to afford N-α-ketoacylated sulfoximines in good to high yields, involving the formation of two new C-O bonds and one C-N bond. Additionally, the protocol offers noteworthy advantages, including its metal-free and photocatalyst-free reaction and its broad substrate compatibility.

Abstract
The electrochemical synthesis of N-aroylsulfoximines features the use of tetra-n-butylammonium iodide (TBAI) as the medium and a broad substrate scope, thus affording a wide range of N-aroylated sulfoximines in moderate to good yields. The advantages of this electrochemical strategy are augmented by mild reaction conditions that are external oxidant-free, ligand-free, and easy to scale up to gram scale. Both the control experiments and the mechanistic studies revealed that the whole electrochemical process proceeded through a palladium (II/IV/II) catalytic cycle.

Abstract
An efficient and practical SO2 insertion protocol of NH-sulfoximines with aryldiazonium tetrafluoroborates and DABSO toward N-sulfonyl sulfoximines has been developed under mildly basic conditions. This transformation features easy operation, readily available substrates, and mild conditions. A tentative mechanism is proposed, which indicates that the aryldiazonium tetrafluoroborates would be radical donors under standard reaction conditions. The aryl radical produced in situ from diazonium salts would be trapped by SO2 to generate an arylsulfonyl radical and then undergo further transformation to generate the final N-sulfonyl sulfoximines.

Abstract
Here, we report a silver-mediated coupling of acetylenes with sulfoximines to synthesize N-α-ketoacyl sulfoximines and N-α,β-unsaturated acyl sulfoximines. The reactions are performed under an open atmosphere using the oxidant K2S2O8 and the ligand 2,2-bipyridyl. However, the fate of the product formation is controlled by the type of substrate used. The coupling between aryl acetylenes and sulfoximines afforded the N-α-ketoacylsulfoximines, while the alkyl acetylenes provided the N-α,β-unsaturated acyl sulfoximines. Controlled experiments reveal the differential reactivity patterns of substrates. The labeling 18O experiments showed that water is the source of the incoming oxygen atom for the keto group of N-α-ketoacyl sulfoximines and N-α,β-unsaturated acyl sulfoximines.

Abstract
The copper-catalyzed enantioselective intermolecular radical 1,2-carboamination of alkenes with readily accessible alkyl halides is an appealing strategy for producing chiral amine scaffolds. The challenge arises from the easily occurring atom transfer radical addition between alkyl halides and alkenes and the issue of enantiocontrol. We herein describe a radical alkene 1,2-carboamination with sulfoximines in a highly chemo- and enantioselective manner. The key to the success of this process is the conceptual design of a counterion/highly sterically demanded ligand coeffect to promote the ligand exchange of copper(I) with sulfoximines and forge chiral C-N bonds between alkyl radicals and the chiral copper(II) complex. The reaction covers alkenes bearing distinct electronic properties, such as aryl-, heteroaryl-, carbonyl-, and aminocarbonyl-substituted ones, and various radical precursors, including alkyl chlorides, bromides, iodides, and the CF3 source. Facile transformations deliver many chiral amine building blocks of interest in organic synthesis and related areas.

Abstract
A photochemical approach for the preparation of α-keto-N-acyl sulfoximines from NH sulfoximines and gem-difluoroalkenes has been developed. In the presence of NBS, the reactions proceed in air without the need of a photocatalyst or additional oxidant. Results of mechanistic studies suggest that the two oxygens in the products stem from water and dioxygen.

Abstract
Herein, we report an efficient electrochemical method for the synthesis of N-alkylated sulfoximines by electrochemical oxidative C(sp3)-H/N-H coupling of sulfoximines and diarylmethanes. In addition, we used the same conditions for electrochemical dehydrogenative amination of diarylmethanes with benzophenone imine as an aminating agent. The reactions showed good functional group tolerance and afforded the corresponding products in moderate to good yields without the use of a stoichiometric oxidant, a metal catalyst, or an activating agent.

Abstract
Visible light induces C-C-bond cleavage reactions of ketones, which can be utilized for N-acylations of sulfoximines. No (photo)catalyst is required, and the reactions occur at ambient temperature in air. The substrate scope is broad for both ketones and sulfoximines. For converting NH-sulfoximines, the presence of NBS is essential.

Abstract
Various β-indolyl sulfoximidoyl amides were efficiently prepared from ortho-iodoanilines, propargyl bromides, 1 atm of CO, and substituted NH-sulfoximines, through a palladium-catalyzed indole annulation/carbonyl insertion/C-N bond formation cascade. Mostly good to high yields of the products were obtained through this multi-step, one-pot reaction protocol under very gentle reaction conditions. The obtained β-indolyl sulfoximidoyl amides could be converted into biologically interesting sulfoximine analogues that contain a tryptamine moiety.

Abstract
The N-acyloxyamides were employed as effective N-acyl nitrene precursors in reactions with thioethers under the catalysis of a commercially available Ru(II) complex, from which a variety of sulfimides were synthesized efficiently and mildly. If an allyl group is contained in the thioether precursor, the [2,3]-sigmatropic rearrangement of the sulfimide occurs simultaneously and the N-allyl-N-(thio)amides were obtained as the final products. Preliminary mechanistic studies indicated that the Ru-nitrenoid species should be a key intermediate in the transformation.

Abstract
From the viewpoint of meeting the current green chemistry challenges in chemical synthesis, there is a need to disseminate how the cocktail of acylation and activation can play a pivotal role in affording bioactive acylated products comprising substituted ketone motifs in fewer reaction steps, with higher atom-economy and improved selectivity. In recent years, a significant number of articles employing the title compounds "aldehydes" as magnificent acylation surrogates which are less toxic and widely applicable have been published. This review sheds light on the compounds use for selective acylation of arene, heteroarene and alkyl (sp3, sp2 and sp) C-H bonds by proficient utilization of the C-H activation strategy. Critical insights into selective acylation of diverse moieties for the synthesis of bioactive compounds are presented in this review that will enable academic and industrial researchers to understand the mechanistic aspects involved and fruitfully employ these strategies in designing novel molecules.

Abstract
A palladium-catalyzed method for the decarboxylative ortho C-H acylation of N-sulfoximine benzamides is developed at room temperature. The catalytic method enables easy access to various functionalized 2-aroylaromatic carboxylic acid derivatives in good isolated yields. Based on our mechanistic studies, a Pd(II)/Pd(IV) catalytic cycle that involves aroyl radical intermediate is proposed for the reaction.

Abstract
Research and industrial interest in radical C-H activation/radical cross-coupling chemistry has continuously grown over the past few decades. These reactions offer fascinating and unconventional approaches toward connecting molecular fragments with high atom- and step-economy that are often complementary to traditional methods. Success in this area of research was made possible through the development of photocatalysis and first-row transition metal catalysis along with the use of peroxides as radical initiators. This Review provides a brief and concise overview of the current status and latest methodologies using radicals or radical cations as key intermediates produced via radical C-H activation. This Review includes radical addition, radical cascade cyclization, radical/radical cross-coupling, coupling of radicals with M-R groups, and coupling of radical cations with nucleophiles (Nu).

Abstract
By exploring a new mode of nickel-catalyzed cross-coupling, a method to directly transform both aromatic and aliphatic aldehydes into either esters or amides has been developed. The success of this oxidative coupling depends on the appropriate choice of catalyst and organic oxidant, including the use of either α,α,α-trifluoroacetophenone or excess aldehyde. Mechanistic data that supports a catalytic cycle involving oxidative addition into the aldehyde C-H bond is also presented.
