Abstract
Cobalt-catalyzed borylative reduction of azobenzenes using pinacolborane is developed. The simple cobalt chloride catalyst and reaction conditions make this protocol attractive for hydrazobenzene synthesis. This borylative reduction shows good functional group compatibility and can be readily scaled up to the gram scale. Preliminary mechanistic studies clarified the proton source of the hydrazine products. This cobalt-catalyzed azobenzene borylative reaction provides a practical protocol to prepare synthetically useful diborylated hydrazines.

Abstract
Herein, control transfer hydrogenation (TH) of azoarenes to hydrazo compounds is established employing easy-to-synthesize reusable cobalt catalyst using lower amounts of N2H4·H2O under mild conditions. With this effective methodology, a library of symmetrical and unsymmetrical azoarene derivatives was successfully converted to their corresponding hydrazo derivatives. Further, this protocol was extended to the TH of nitroarenes to amines with good-to-excellent yields. Several kinetic studies along with Hammett studies were carried out to understand the plausible mechanism and the electronic effects in this transformation. This inexpensive catalyst can be recycled up to five times without considerable loss of catalytic activity.

Abstract
The high atom-economical and eco-benign nature of hydrogenation reactions make them much more superior to conventional reduction and transfer hydrogenation. Herein, a convenient and highly selective hydrogenation reaction of azoarenes using molecular hydrogen to access diverse hydrazoarenes is reported. The present catalytic method is general and operationally simple, and it operates under exceedingly mild conditions (room temperature and 1 atm of hydrogen pressure). The reusability of catalysts used in this method is also successfully demonstrated.

Abstract
The stoichiometric reaction of cis-[Pd(ITMe)2(SiR3)2], where (SiR3 = SiMe3 and SiMe2Ph and ITMe = 1,3,4,5-tetramethylimidazol-2-ylidene) with allyl bromide affords the corresponding allylsilanes along with complexes of the type trans-[Pd(ITMe)2(SiR3)(Br)]. The structure of trans-[Pd(ITMe)2(SiMe2Ph)Br] 2b has been determined in the solid state and displays a slightly distorted square-planar geometry with the two N-heterocyclic carbene ligands in a trans-configuration.

Abstract
A visible-light-promoted transfer hydrogenation of azobenzenes has been developed. In the presence of B2pin2 and upon visible-light irradiation, the reactions proceeded smoothly in methanol at ambient temperature. The azobenzenes with diverse functional groups have been reduced to the corresponding hydrazobenzenes with a yield of up to 96%. Preliminary mechanistic studies indicated that the hydrogen atom comes from the solvent and the transformation is achieved through a radical pathway.

Abstract
4,4'-Bipyridyl is shown to be a catalyst for transfer of pinacolboryl groups from (Bpin)2 to nitrogen heterocycles and to Me3SiN3. Using stoichiometric (Bpin)2(pyrazine) or (Bpin)2(bipyridine) in an analogous manner, an aromatic nitro group is deoxygenated and subsequently borylated, and four-fold deoxygenation of (DIM)Fe(NO3)2(MeCN) to yield the dinitrosyl complex (DIM)Fe(NO)2 is facile. The co-product O(Bpin)2 is the quantitative fate of the removed oxo groups. With borylation of both nitrogen heterocycles and doubly deoxygenating two nitrates coordinated to a single metal center, broad spectrum methodology is demonstrated.

Abstract
The bis(N-heterocyclic carbene)(diphenylacetylene)palladium complex [Pd(ITMe)2(PhC≡CPh)] (ITMe=1,3,4,5-tetramethylimidazol-2-ylidene) acts as a highly active pre-catalyst in the diboration and silaboration of azobenzenes to synthesize a series of novel functionalized hydrazines. The reactions proceed using commercially available diboranes and silaboranes under mild reaction conditions.
