Abstract
In this study, we have disclosed N-alkylation and C-alkylation reactions of 2-oxindoles with secondary alcohols. Interestingly, these chemoselective reactions are tunable by changing the reaction conditions. Utilization of protic solvent and Brønsted acid catalyst afforded C-alkylation, whereas, aprotic solvent and Lewis acid catalyst afforded N-alkylation of 2-oxindoles in good to excellent yields. Regioselectivity is achieved by protecting the N-center of the oxindole and C5 alkylated product is furnished exclusively. This protocol is notable because it demonstrates functionalization at the C7 position of oxindole without the need for any directing group at the N-center. Further, a new protocol has been reported for C-H oxygenation at the benzylic position of one of the C5 alkylated derivative.

Abstract
Bismuth(iii)-catalyzed regioselective functionalization at the C-6 position of tetrahydroquinolines and the C-5 position of indolines has been demonstrated. For the first time, one pot symmetrical and unsymmetrical arylation of isatins with tetrahydroquinolines was accomplished giving a completely new product skeleton in good to excellent yields. Most importantly, this protocol leads to the formation of a highly strained quaternary carbon stereogenic center, which is a challenging task. Benzhydryl and 1-phenylethyl trichloroacetimidates have been used as the alkylating partners to functionalize the C-6 and C-5 positions of tetrahydroquinolines and indolines, respectively. The scope of the developed methodology has been extended for the synthesis of the bioactive CYP19-inhibitor and its analogue.

Abstract
AbstractA convenient aerobic oxidative hydroxylation of 3-substituted oxindoles under mild reaction conditions is described herein. This process was accomplished by the activation of molecular oxygen in the air in the presence of a photocatalyst under the irradiation of visible light. The desired product was delivered in up to 89% yield without the addition of base or stoichiometric oxidant.

Abstract
The palladium-N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC)-catalyzed allylic alkylation of various pronucleophiles with alkynes has been accomplished under mild conditions. The protocol exhibits broad functional group compatibility and high atom economy. Moreover, the catalytic process avoids the use of external oxidants and acid as additives.

Abstract
By exploiting the reactivity of a vinyl-Pd species, we control the regioselectivity in hydroallylation of alkynes under Pd-hydride catalysis. A monophosphine ligand and carboxylic acid combination promotes 1,5-dienes through a pathway involving isomerization of alkynes to allenes. In contrast, a bisphosphine ligand and copper cocatalyst favor 1,4-dienes via a mechanism that involves transmetalation. Our study highlights how to access different isomers by diverting a common organometallic intermediate.

Abstract
The propargylic C(sp3)–H functionalization strategy has been successfully employed in the copper-catalyzed [3+2] cycloaddition of simple alkynes with β-ketoesters. Under optimal conditions, the reaction proceeds smoothly to give a variety of highly functionalized furans in moderate to high yields.
