Abstract
The construction of a class of novel triazole molecules containing sulfonyl fluoride functionalities was achieved through Cu-catalyzed click chemistry in good to excellent yields. The sulfonyl fluoride moieties were cleaved completely under base conditions to produce N-unsubstituted triazoles quantitatively, which provides a strategy to combine SuFEx click chemistry with Cu-catalyzed click chemistry ingeniously.

Abstract
A convenient and efficient process for the synthesis of 3,5-disubstituted 1,2,4-oxadiazoles and 2,4,6-triarylpyridines has been described using an inexpensive, environmentally benign, metal-free heterogeneous carbocatalyst, graphene oxide (GO). GO plays a dual role of an oxidizing agent and solid acid catalyst for synthesizing 1,2,4-oxadiazoles and triarylpyridines. This dual catalytic activity of GO is due to the presence of oxygenated functional groups which are distributed on the nanosheets of graphene oxide. A broad scope of substrate applicability and good sustainability is offered in this developed protocol. The results of a few control experiments reveal a plausible mechanism and the role of GO as a catalyst was confirmed by FTIR, XRD, SEM, and HR-TEM analysis.

Abstract
1,2,3-triazoles represent a functional heterocyclic core that has been at the center of modern organic chemistry since the beginning of click chemistry. Being a versatile framework, such an aromatic ring can be observed in uncountable molecules useful in medicine and photochemistry, just to name a few. This review summarizes the progress achieved in their synthesis from 2015 to today, with particular emphasis on the development of new catalytic and eco-compatible approaches. In doing so, we subdivided the report based on their degree of functionalization and, for each subparagraph, we outlined the role of the catalyst employed.

Abstract
An overview of the latest developments in the metal-free synthesis of non-benzo-fused N-functionalized and NH-1,2,3-triazoles is provided in this feature article. Synthetic studies that appeared from 2016 until August 2020 are organized according to a wide-ranging classification, comprising oxidative and eliminative azide-dipolarophile cycloadditions, diazo transfer reactions and N-tosylhydrazone-mediated syntheses. The newly developed methods constitute a significant contribution to the field of 1,2,3-triazole synthesis in terms of structural variation via either the exploration of novel reactions, or the exploitation of existing methodologies.

Abstract
A highly efficient and straightforward synthesis of N-fused heterocyclic compounds including 5-amino-7-(aryl)-8-nitro-N'-(1-(aryl)ethylidene)-3,7-dihydro-2H-thiazolo[3,2-a]pyridine-6-carbohydrazide derivatives is successfully achieved via a five-component cascade reaction utilizing cyanoacetohydrazide, various acetophenones, aromatic aldehydes, 1,1-bis(methylthio)-2-nitroethylene and cysteamine hydrochloride in ethanol at reflux conditions. The new approach involves domino N,S-acetal formation, Knoevenagel condensation, Michael reaction, imine–enamine tautomerization and N-cyclization sequences. The prominent advantages of this protocol include: facility of operation, available and economical starting materials, no need for toxic solvents, high yields and tolerance of a wide variety of functional groups. Abstract
Concise construction of furan and thiophene units has played an important role in the synthesis of potentially bioactive compounds and functional materials. Herein, an efficient Lewis acid ZnCl2 catalyzed [4+1] annulation of alkylthio-substituted enaminones is reported, that is, α-oxo ketene N,S-acetals with sulfur ylides to afford 2-acyl-3-aminofuran derivatives. In a similar fashion, [4+1] annulation of the corresponding enaminothiones, that is, α-thioxo ketene N,S-acetals, with sulfur ylides efficiently proceeded to give multisubstituted 3-aminothiophenes. This method features wide substrate scopes as well as broad functional group tolerance, offering a concise route to highly functionalized furans and thiophenes.

Abstract
The reaction employing H2O and O2 as the co-oxygen source in the catalytic synthesis of α-ketoamides is described. This copper-catalyzed reaction is carried out in a tandem manner constituted by the hydroamination of alkyne, hydration of vinyl–Cu complex and subsequent oxidation. Isotope labeling and radical capture experiments reveal that the oxygen atom of α-ketone at α-ketoamides derives from O2 and the oxygen atom of amide group originates from H2O. The reaction employing H2O and O2 as the co-oxygen source in the catalytic synthesis of α-ketoamides is described. Abstract
A molecular iodine-mediated coupling cyclization reaction for the synthesis of 4-aryl-NH-1,2,3-triazoles has been developed from N-tosylhydrazones and sodium azide. This metal-free cascade [4 + 1] cyclization reaction could rapidly synthesize valuable compounds via a sequential C-N and N-N bond formation. Mechanistic studies demostrate that the nitrogen atoms of the 1,2,3-triazoles are not entirely from sodium azide.

Abstract
Organosulfur compounds have long played a vital role in organic chemistry and in the development of novel chemical structures and architectures. Prominent among these organosulfur compounds are those involving a sulfur(IV) center, which have been the subject of countless investigations over more than a hundred years. In addition to a long list of textbook sulfur-based reactions, there has been a sustained interest in the chemistry of organosulfur(IV) compounds in recent years. Of particular interest within organosulfur chemistry is the ease with which the synthetic chemist can effect a wide range of transformations through either bond formation or bond cleavage at sulfur. This review aims to cover the developments of the past decade in the chemistry of organic sulfur(IV) molecules and provide insight into both the wide range of reactions which critically rely on this versatile element and the diverse scaffolds that can thereby be synthesized.

Abstract
A simple and efficient protocol developed for one pot three-component synthesis of 2,4,6-triarylpyridines from aromatic aldehydes, substituted acetophenones and ammonium acetate using the versatile super Brønsted acid triflimide (HNTf2) as an effective catalyst is described. The reactions proceed well in the presence of 1 mol% of HNTf2 at 80 °C under solvent-free conditions and provide the corresponding triarylpyridines in good to excellent yields. The method reported has several advantages such as a metal-free and commercially available catalyst, mild reaction conditions and lower loading of catalyst. Abstract
A simple and convenient protocol has been developed for the synthesis of N-amino-3-cyano-2-pyridone derivatives by a one-pot reaction of cyanoacetohydrazide, activated nitrile substrates (malononitrile, ethyl cyanoacetate, cyanoacetamide) and aromatic aldehydes in the presence of piperidine in water or a mixture of water and ethanol. The sequence of cascade reactions includes Knoevenagel condensation, Michael addition, intramolecular cyclization, imine-enamine tautomerization and oxidative aromatization. The main advantages of this procedure are availability of starting compounds, simple procedure, mild conditions, easy purification of products and the use of water or water/ethanol as green solvents.

Abstract
The first use of biomass-derived HMF in the one-pot Kabachnik–Fields reaction is reported here. A wide range of furan-based α-amino phosphonates were prepared in moderate to excellent yields under mild, effective and environmentally-benign conditions: iodine as a non-metal catalyst, biobased 2-MeTHF as the solvent and room or moderate temperature. The hydroxymethyl group of HMF persists in the Kabachnik–Fields products, widening the scope of further modification and derivatization compared to those arising from furfural. Issues involving the diastereoselectivity and double Kabachnik–Fields condensation were also faced. A mild and efficient one-pot protocol for the synthesis of α-amino phosphonates directly from 5-HMF was described.![]()
