Abstract
A method for concise and efficient synthesis of indazolo[2,3-a]quinazolines has been developed via a sequential annulation of 3-aminoindazoles and dehydrogenative aromatization of cyclohexanones. This high regioselectivity is attributed to the fact that the Mannich reaction is superior to the aldol reaction in this system. It is worth mentioning that this convenient process is successfully extended to 3-aminopyrazoles for assembling another class of medicinally prevalent pyrazolo[1,5-a]quinazolines.

Abstract
3-Arylquinoxaline-2-thiones were conveniently synthesized via three-component oxidative condensation of acetophenones with o-phenylenediamines and sulfur in DMSO in the presence of piperidine as a catalyst. The products could be readily isolated from the reaction mixture by simple precipitation and washing with methanol. This set of reaction conditions applied to higher homologs of acetophenones as well as benzyl phenyl ketones led to 2,3-di-C-substituted quinoxalines. Further functionalization of 3-phenylquinoxaline-2-thione via reaction on the thione group could be readily performed to provide quinoxaline derivatives in good yields.

Abstract
A novel series of 1-substituted phenazines 4a-4l were designed and synthesized via Palladium-catalyzed reactions from 1-phenazine trifluoromethanesulfonate. These phenazines showed antichlamydial activity with IC50 values from 1 to 10 μM. Among them, compounds 4c and 4i exhibited the best antichlamydial activity with IC50 values from 2.06 to 2.74 μM without apparent cytotoxicity to host cells.

Abstract
Herein, Ag(I)-promoted regioselective intramolecular radical nucleophilic addition/rearrangement of 2-aryl diazaboroles has been accomplished for the first time to construct phenazine structures. This protocol is an umpolung strategy based on the classical electrophilic mechanism, and therefore, a reversed regioselectivity was observed, which provides an opportunity to prepare sterically hindered phenazines. The resulting thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) materials based on phenazine exhibit emission bands from green to red with high quantum yields and moderate fluorescence lifetimes as solid films.

Abstract
A facile and straightforward synthesis of unsymmetrically substituted N-aryl oxalamides from 2,2'-biphenyldiamines, 2-chloroacetic acid derivatives, elemental sulfur, and water has been developed. This protocol is distinguished by efficiency in water under metal-free conditions for N-aryl oxalamides bearing a side-chain NH2-group; it can be adapted for scale-up synthesis. The scope and limitations of this transformation have been investigated.

Abstract
We report a new method for the synthesis of substituted quinazolines by the condensation of 2-nitrobenzyl alcohols with arylacetic acids. The transformation requires the use of urea as a nitrogen source, elemental sulfur as a promoter, DABCO as a base, and DMSO as a solvent. Functionalities such as chloro, fluoro, trifluoromethyl, thienyl, and indolyl groups were all compatible with the reaction conditions. Because our method uses stable simple substrates to obtain the N,N-heterocycles in the absence of transition metals, it offers a potential pathway for preparing complex structures under mild conditions.

Abstract
A new synthesis of 2-aroylbenzothiazoles via iodine-promoted domino transformations of anilines, acetophenones, and elemental sulfur was demonstrated. The highlights of this tandem synthesis are (1) easily available anilines and acetophenones as feedstock; (2) transition metal-free conditions; (3) inexpensive, nontoxic, easy handling, and abundant elemental sulfur as a building block. This synthetic strategy would complement the existing methods in the synthesis of this important heterocyclic scaffold. To our best knowledge, the formation of 2-aroylbenzothiazoles from simple anilines, acetophenones, and elemental sulfur was not previously reported in the literature. A new synthesis of 2-aroylbenzothiazoles via iodine-promoted domino transformations of anilines, acetophenones, and elemental sulfur was demonstrated.![]()

Abstract
An iodine-catalyzed aerobic dehydro-aromatization has been developed, providing straightforward and efficient access to various benzoazoles and benzoazines. The present transition-metal-free protocol enables the dehydro-aromatization of tetrahydrobenzazoles and tetrahydroquinolines with molecular oxygen as the green oxidant, along with some other N-heterocycles. Hence, a broad range of heteroaromatic compounds are generated in moderate to good yields under facile reaction conditions. An iodine-catalyzed aerobic dehydro-aromatization has been developed, providing a straightforward and efficient access to various benzoazoles and benzoazines.![]()
