Abstract
A new visible-light-mediated non-directed oxidative annulation between 2-arylindazoles and electron-deficient olefins using commercially available piperidine-1-sulfonyl chloride as the radical precursor to afford fused 5,6-dihydroindazolo[2,3-a]quinolines has been developed under mild reaction conditions. This transformation occurs via two consecutive C-H bond functionalizations. The mechanistic investigation results indicate that the reaction progresses through a radical pathway forming a 2-(2-aryl-2H-indazol-3-yl)-3-piperidin-1-ylsulfonyl derivative as an intermediate.

Abstract
An efficient strategy for the preparation of spirocyclic indole-N-oxide compounds through a Rh(III)-catalyzed [4 + 1] spiroannulation reaction of N-aryl nitrones with 2-diazo-1,3-indandiones as C1 synthons under extremely mild conditions is presented. From this reaction, 40 spirocyclic indole-N-oxides were easily obtained in up to 98% yield. In addition, the title compounds could be successfully used for the construction of structurally intriguing maleimide-containing fused polycyclic scaffolds via a diastereoselective 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction with maleimides.

Abstract
N-(2,4-Dimethoxy-1,3,5-triazinyl)amide was found to exhibit similar behavior to N-methoxy-N-methylamide (Weinreb amide) but higher reactivity for nucleophilic substitution by organometallic reagents. Triazinylamide suppresses overaddition, leading to the formation of a tertiary alcohol by the chelating ability of the triazinyl and carbonyl groups. Ureas possessing both triazinylamino and methoxy(methyl)amino groups underwent sequential nucleophilic substitution with different organometallic reagents, which furnished unsymmetrical ketones without any detectable tertiary alcohols.

Abstract
2H-Indazoles are one class of the most important nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds. The 2H-indazole motif is widely present in bioactive natural products and drug molecules that exhibit distinctive bioactivities. Therefore, much attention has been paid to access diverse 2H-indazole derivatives. Among them, the late-stage functionalization of 2H-indazoles via C-H activation is recognized as an efficient approach for increasing the complexity and diversity of 2H-indazole derivatives. In this review, we summarized recent achievements in the late-stage functionalization of 2H-indazoles, including the C3-functionalization of 2H-indazoles through transition metal-catalyzed C-H activation or a radical pathway, transition metal-catalyzed ortho C2'-H functionalization of 2H-indazoles and remote C-H functionalization at the benzene ring in 2H-indazoles.

Abstract
A new and efficient protocol has been demonstrated for the synthesis of benzothiadiazinoisoquinoline 6,6-dioxides and benzothiadiazinoisoindole 5,5-dioxides in good to excellent yields. These compounds are formed through a sequential Rh(III)-catalyzed C-H cyclization of dihydrophenylbenzothiadiazine 1,1-dioxides with alkynes and oxidative Heck coupling/aza-Michael addition of dihydrophenylbenzothiadiazine 1,1-dioxides with acrylates, respectively.

Abstract
C-H Functionalization is ubiquitously considered as a powerful, efficient and handy tool for installing various functional groups in complex organic heterocycles in an easier and step-economic way. Similarly, indazole is endowed as a potent heterocycle and is eminent for its profound impact in biological, medicinal and industrial chemistry. In this scenario, C-H functionalization at the selective ortho position of 2-arylindazole in assistance of a metal catalyst is also becoming an appealing approach in synthetic organic chemistry. This review addressed the recent findings and developments on ortho C-H functionalization of 2-aryl-2H-indazazoles with literature coverage extending from 2018 to May 2022.

Abstract
Earth-abundant and water-tolerant manganese(i) catalyzed alkenylation of 2-arylindazole with alkyl and aryl alkynes through C–H bond activation is described with a unique level of E-selectivity. The reaction proceeds through the control of C3 nucleophilicity of 2-aryl indazoles. This method is applied to the late-stage functionalization of complex molecules including ethinylestradiol, norethisterone, and N-protected amino acid derivatives. The kinetic isotope studies suggest that the C–H bond activation step may not be the rate-determining step. Earth-abundant and water-tolerant manganese(i) catalyzed alkenylation of 2-arylindazole with alkyl and aryl alkynes through C–H bond activation is described with a unique level of E-selectivity.![]()

Abstract
A highly chemoselective cascade Wolff rearrangement/acylation reaction between 5-aminopyrazoles and diazo compounds has been developed. The protocol can facilitate the switchable synthesis of 4-hydroxy-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridin-6-ones and N-pyrazole amides with the merits of a broad substrate scope, high functional group compatibility, and green and sustainable performance manner. All reactions proceeded efficiently without any catalyst and additives (acid and base) and resulted in the release of benign N2, wherein diethyl carbonate served as a green benign solvent.

Abstract
A Rh(III)-catalyzed direct cyanation of 2H-indazoles with N-cyano-N-phenyl-p-toluenesulfonamide has been realized via a chelation-assisted strategy. The methodology enables regioselective access to various ortho-cyanated phenylindazoles in good yields with a broad substrate scope and good functional group compatibility. The obtained cyanated indazoles could further be converted into other value-added chemicals. Importantly, the current protocol is featured with several characteristics, including a novel cyanating agent, good regioselectivity, and operational convenience.

Abstract
A rhodium-catalyzed formal [4 + 5] annulation reaction of 2-arylindoles with quinone monoacetals for the selective preparation of bridged nine-membered carbocyclic and heterocyclic compounds is developed. When 2-aryl substituted indoles are employed, this annulation reaction affords bridged nine-membered carbocyclic compounds with excellent indolyl C3 selectivity. On the other hand, with 2-aryl-3-substituted indoles as the substrates, bridged nine-membered heterocyclic compounds are exclusively formed via N1 annulation. Further transformations of the obtained products into new bridged compounds showcase the synthetic potential of this protocol.
