Abstract
Herein, we report the synthesis of seleno-substituted chromenes from selenoalkynes and phenols. In this cascade reaction, the applied gold catalyst not only functions as a π-acid, but also as a Lewis acid, enabling the propargylic substitution in the first step to connect the oxygen carbon bond. Under the optimal reaction condition a total of 26 chromenes were accessible by this modular access. During scale up experiments, the hydrolysis of the vinylselenium substructure to the corresponding chromenones was observed. By revisiting the electron-rich starting materials, four chromenones were produced following a one-pot reaction using a single gold catalyst. To better understand the interaction of gold and selenium, a series of nuclear magnetic resonance studies and high-resolution mass spectrometry studies were performed, which led to the proposal of a mechanism for this transformation.

Abstract
Kinetic studies on the intramolecular hydroamination of protected variants of 2,2-diphenylpent-4-en-1-amine were carried out under a variety of conditions with cationic gold catalysts supported by phosphine ligands. The impact of ligand on gold, protecting group on nitrogen, and solvent and additive on reaction rates was determined. The most effective reactions utilized more Lewis basic ureas, and more electron-withdrawing phosphines. A DCM/alcohol cooperative effect was quantified, and a continuum of isotope effects was measured with low KIE's in the absence of deuterated alcoholic solvent, increasing to large solvent KIE's when comparing reactions in pure MeOH to those in pure MeOH-d4. The effects are interpreted both within the context of a classic gold π-activation/protodeauration mechanism and a general acid-catalyzed mechanism without intermediate gold alkyls.

Abstract
The direct synthesis of cyclopenta-fused anthracenes (CP-anthracenes) through a gold(I)-catalyzed cyclization reaction of easily available triene-yne systems bearing a benzofulvene substructure, is reported. The targets are of great interest due to the potential use as organic materials and the preparation of these compounds is gaining huge importance. The applied starting materials are readily available through a three-step synthesis, which further contributes to the advantages of this route. In addition, UV-Vis and fluorescent spectra of the obtained CP-anthracenes were recorded.

Abstract
Herein, we reported an intermolecular asymmetric hydrative aldol reaction through vinyl-gold intermediate under ambient conditions. This tandem alkyne hydration and sequential nucleophilic addition afforded a "base-free" approach to β-hydroxy amides with high efficiency (up to 95 % yields, >50 examples). Vinyl gold intermediate was applied as reactive nucleophile and Fe(acac)3 was used as the critical co-catalyst to prevent undesired protodeauration, allowing this transformation to proceed under mild conditions with good functional group tolerance and excellent stereoselectivity (>20 : 1 d.r. and up to 99 % ee).

Abstract
We report a combined experimental and theoretical study on the structures and chemical bonding of AuC2nH (n = 4-7) using photoelectron imaging and quantum chemical calculations. All the ground states of anions and neutral AuC2nH have a linear geometry. The electron affinities (EAs) are measured to be 2.063(5), 2.157(5), 2.220(5), and 2.267(5) eV for AuC2nH, n = 4-7, respectively. The photoelectron imaging data of AuC8H- and AuC10H- reveal major vibrational progressions in the Au-C stretching modes. The ground state stretching frequencies of the titled neutral molecules are 226, 193, 177, and 128 cm-1, respectively. By comparing the experimental β value and theoretical molecular orbital analysis, we confirm that the CAM-B3LYP method is more suitable for describing the properties of such unsaturated long chains organogold clusters. The experimental and CAM-B3LYP methods give a big picture of the trend in EAs of AuC2nH. This shows that the EA value becomes larger with an increase in the carbon chain length, and it also shows a slow increment for larger n. The NRT analysis shows that the change of the Au-C bond order is not obvious as the number of carbon atoms increases, and the covalent character dominates the Au-C chemical bonds in these neutral species. The current study provides a wealth of electronic structure information about long-chain AuC2nH- (n = 4-7) and their corresponding neutral counterparts.

Abstract
A gold-catalysed cycloisomerization of 1,5-diynes is described, which offers a selective approach to access 1,3,4-trisubstituted pyrroles. In this reaction, the cationic gold catalyst activates the ynamide moiety, initiating the cycloisomerization to produce the pyrrole core, and H2O acts as an external nucleophile to trap the vinyl cationic species, thus leading to the formation of 1,3,4-trisubstituted pyrroles with high selectivity.
