Abstract
A convenient and new synthetic approach has been developed for the oxidative cross-coupling of the C-N bond through the reaction between arylglyoxylic acids and tetraalkylthiuram disulfides. The reaction proceeds under ambient air at room temperature in the presence of visible light. This reaction offers a metal-, base-, photocatalyst-, and solvent-free synthesis of various α-ketoamides with moderate to excellent yields via the radical pathway. In addition, this protocol demonstrates the potential application of a gram-scale synthesis.

Abstract
Herein, we report metal- and photocatalyst-free room-temperature amidation for α-ketoamide synthesis from feedstock phenacyl bromides and amines using molecular oxygen as an oxidant as well as a source of oxygen in the amide segment. Visible light-mediated base-promoted one-pot sequential C-N/C═N/C═O bond formation takes place in a tandem manner to afford the desired product. Functional group tolerance (benzylic alcohol, keto, cyano, nitro, halo, etc.), a broad substrate scope, and gram-scale synthesis make this synthetic methodology more attractive. We have observed that electron-rich aromatic amines, aliphatic amines, and phenacyl bromide derivatives proceeded the present transformation with marginally superior reactivity in comparison to electron-deficient aromatic amines and phenacyl bromide derivatives. Moreover, several control experiments, in situ isolation of secondary amine and imine as key intermediates, and 18O-labeling experiments provide complete insight into the mechanism of the tandem pathway.

Abstract
A novel and practical Cu(OAc)2-catalyzed oxidative synthesis of α-ketoamides from aryl methyl ketones and N-bromobutanimide (NBS) using N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) as dimethylamine (HNMe2) source and solvent has been developed under mild conditions. DMF was used as a HNMe2 source and can be easily converted into HNMe2 by acid hydrolysis. The mechanistic studies indicate that Cu(OAc)2 plays a dual role in providing both catalyst and oxidant.

Abstract
The reaction employing H2O and O2 as the co-oxygen source in the catalytic synthesis of α-ketoamides is described. This copper-catalyzed reaction is carried out in a tandem manner constituted by the hydroamination of alkyne, hydration of vinyl–Cu complex and subsequent oxidation. Isotope labeling and radical capture experiments reveal that the oxygen atom of α-ketone at α-ketoamides derives from O2 and the oxygen atom of amide group originates from H2O. The reaction employing H2O and O2 as the co-oxygen source in the catalytic synthesis of α-ketoamides is described. This Cu-catalyzed reaction is carried out in a tandem manner constituted by hydroamination of alkyne, hydration of vinyl–Cu complex and subsequent oxidation.![]()
