Abstract
BACKGROUND Depression among older adults is a pressing public health concern, necessitating accurate assessment tools. The Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) offers a brief and efficient means of screening depressive symptoms, yet its performance across ethno-racial groups remains understudied. This study aimed to compare the ability of various brief forms of the GDS to detect depressive symptoms and to assess potential ethno-racial differences in symptom endorsement among White, Black/African-American, and American Indian/Alaska Native older adults. METHODS Data were obtained from the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) clinical cohort, comprising 555 cognitively healthy individuals at risk for dementia. We used participants' baseline data for this cross-sectional analysis. Depressive symptoms were assessed using multiple brief forms of the GDS, derived from a systematic review and meta-analysis. We examined internal consistency and correlations with global Clinical Dementia Rating (CDR) scores. We conducted Kruskal-Wallis tests and post hoc pairwise comparisons to assess ethno-racial group differences in symptom endorsement. RESULTS Descriptive statistics revealed a predominance of female and White participants, with notable representation from Black and American Indian/Alaska Native groups. All GDS versions demonstrated moderate to high internal consistency. Significant positive correlations were observed between GDS scores and global CDR scores. Ethno-racial group differences in depressive symptom endorsement were evident, with Black participants consistently reporting higher levels of symptoms across most GDS versions. However, American Indian/Alaska Native participants endorsed significantly fewer symptoms than Black participants in one GDS version. CONCLUSION The study highlights the importance of considering ethno-racial differences in depressive symptomatology when assessing older adults. While the GDS demonstrates overall reliability, variations in symptom endorsement across different ethno-racial groups underscore the need for culturally sensitive assessment tools and interventions. Future research should further explore these group differences and develop tailored approaches to depression screening and treatment in diverse older adult populations.

Abstract
Importance Traumatic brain injury (TBI), seizures, and dementia increase with age. There is a gap in understanding the associations of TBI, seizures, and medications such as antiseizure and antipsychotics with the progression of cognitive impairment across racial and ethnic groups. Objective To investigate the association of TBI and seizures with the risk of cognitive impairment among cognitively normal older adults and the role of medications in moderating the association. Design, Setting, and Participants This multicenter cohort study was a secondary analysis of the Uniform Data Set collected between June 1, 2005, and June 30, 2020, from the National Alzheimer's Coordination Center. Statistical analysis was performed from February 1 to April 3, 2024. Data were collected from participants from 36 Alzheimer's Disease Research Centers in the US who were 65 years or older at baseline, cognitively normal at baseline (Clinical Dementia Rating of 0 and no impairment based on a presumptive etiologic diagnosis of AD), and had complete information on race and ethnicity, age, sex, educational level, and apolipoprotein E genotype. Exposure Health history of TBI, seizures, or both conditions. Main Outcomes and Measures Progression to cognitive impairment measured by a Clinical Dementia Rating greater than 0. Results Among the cohort of 7180 older adults (median age, 74 years [range, 65-102 years]; 4729 women [65.9%]), 1036 were African American or Black (14.4%), 21 were American Indian or Alaska Native (0.3%), 143 were Asian (2.0%), 332 were Hispanic (4.6%), and 5648 were non-Hispanic White (78.7%); the median educational level was 16.0 years (range, 1.0-29.0 years). After adjustment for selection basis using propensity score weighting, seizure was associated with a 40% higher risk of cognitive impairment (hazard ratio [HR], 1.40; 95% CI, 1.19-1.65), TBI with a 25% higher risk of cognitive impairment (HR, 1.25; 95% CI, 1.17-1.34), and both seizure and TBI were associated with a 57% higher risk (HR, 1.57; 95% CI, 1.23-2.01). The interaction models indicated that Hispanic participants with TBI and seizures had a higher risk of cognitive impairment compared with other racial and ethnic groups. The use of antiseizure medications (HR, 1.23; 95% CI, 0.99-1.53), antidepressants (HR, 1.32; 95% CI, 1.17-1.50), and antipsychotics (HR, 2.15; 95% CI, 1.18-3.89) was associated with a higher risk of cognitive impairment, while anxiolytic, sedative, or hypnotic use (HR, 0.88; 95% CI, 0.83-0.94) was associated with a lower risk. Conclusions and Relevance This study highlights the importance of addressing TBI and seizures as risk factors for cognitive impairment among older adults. Addressing the broader social determinants of health and bridging the health divide across various racial and ethnic groups are essential for the comprehensive management and prevention of dementia.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES The nature of associations between depressive symptoms and cognition early in the life course remains unclear, and racial differences in these associations are not well characterized. The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between trajectories of depressive symptom over 20 years, beginning in young adulthood, and cognitive functions in middle-age among Black and White adults. METHODS We used prospective data from participants of the Coronary Artery Risk Development in Young Adults Study. Depressive symptoms were measured at 5 study visits between 1990 and 2010 using the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression scale. We used latent class group-based modeling to identify 4 trajectories: "persistently low," "persistently medium," "medium decreasing," and "high increasing" depressive symptoms. In 2015, cognitive function was measured using the Digit Symbol Substitution Test (DSST), Stroop test (reverse coded), and Rey Auditory-Verbal Learning Test (RAVLT).We excluded participants who missed the cognitive battery or had no depressive symptoms measurements, resulting in a total of 3,117 participants. All cognitive tests were standardized, and linear regression was used to relate depressive trajectories with 2015 cognitive functions. RESULTS The mean [SD] baseline age was 30.1 [3.6] years, and 57% were female. The associations between depressive symptoms and cognition significantly differed by race (p < 0.05). Among Black individuals, compared with having "persistently low," having "medium decreasing," "persistently medium," or "high increasing" depressive symptoms were associated with worse verbal memory, processing speed, and executive function scores (RAVLT persistently medium vs low: β = -0.30, 95% CI -0.48 to -0.12; and high increasing vs low: β = -0.49, 95% CI -0.70 to -0.27; DSST persistently medium vs low: β = -0.28, 95% CI -0.47 to -0.09; and high increasing vs low: β = -0.64, 95% CI -0.87 to -0.42; Stroop persistently medium vs low: β = -0.46, 95% CI -0.70 to -0.23; and high increasing vs low: β = -0.76, 95% CI -1.04 to -0.47). Associations were slightly weaker among White individuals, but we still found that having 'high increasing' depressive symptoms was associated with worse verbal memory and processing speed scores (high increasing vs low: β = -0.38, 95% CI -0.61 to -0.15; and β = -0.40, 95% CI -0.63 to -0.18, respectively). DISCUSSION Prolonged exposure to elevated depressive symptoms beginning in young adulthood may result in worse cognitive function over midlife. This association was stronger among Black adults.

Abstract
Age and depression may interact to produce a "double jeopardy" for cognitive impairment, and executive functioning, in cognitively unimpaired aging. Few studies have considered middle age or the ethnoracial diversity of subjects, despite evidence of more severe cognitive outcomes in historically minoritized people. In this pilot study, we investigated the impact of age on depression-related cognitive impairment and the underlying brain volumes in middle-aged non-Hispanic White adults (116), and Hispanic and Black adults (60), with a total number of 176 adults. The result shows a significant interaction between age and depression for executive functioning, specifically for middle-aged Hispanic and Black adults, but not non-Hispanic White adults. Prefrontal cortex volumes, which were reduced in the Black and Hispanic compared to the non-Hispanic White adults, partially mediated the relationship between depression level and executive functioning, across age and ethnoracial group. Collectively, these results suggest that the negative impact of depression on executive functioning and Prefrontal cortex volumes integrity may be exacerbated by age and that historically minoritized people may be particularly sensitive to this double jeopardy.

Abstract
Background Hearing loss and tinnitus have been linked to mild cognitive impairment (MCI); however, the evidence is constrained by ethical and temporal constraints, and few prospective studies have definitively established causation. This study aims to utilize Mendelian randomization (MR) and cross-sectional studies to validate and analyze this association. Methods This study employs a two-step approach. Initially, the genetic data of the European population from the Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) database is utilized to establish the causal relationship between hearing loss and cognitive impairment through Mendelian randomization using the inverse variance weighted (IVW) method. This is achieved by identifying strongly correlated single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), eliminating linkage disequilibrium, and excluding weak instrumental variables. In the second step, 363 elderly individuals from 10 communities in Qingdao, China are assessed and examined using methods questionnaire survey and pure tone audiology (PTA). Logistic regression and multiple linear regression were used to analyze the risk factors of MCI in the elderly and to calculate the cutoff values. Results Mendelian randomization studies have shown that hearing loss is a risk factor for MCI in European populations, with a risk ratio of hearing loss to MCI loss of 1. 23. The findings of this cross-sectional study indicate that age, tinnitus, and hearing loss emerged as significant risk factors for MCI in univariate logistic regression analysis. Furthermore, multivariate logistic regression analysis identified hearing loss and tinnitus as potential risk factors for MCI. Consistent results were observed in multiple linear regression analysis, revealing that hearing loss and age significantly influenced the development of MCI. Additionally, a notable finding was that the likelihood of MCI occurrence increased by 9% when the hearing threshold exceeded 20 decibels. Conclusion This study provides evidence from genomic and epidemiological investigations indicating that hearing loss may serve as a risk factor for cognitive impairment. While our epidemiological study has found both hearing loss and tinnitus as potential risk factors for cognitive decline, additional research is required to establish a causal relationship, particularly given that tinnitus can manifest as a symptom of various underlying medical conditions.

Abstract
We investigate Alzheimer's disease and related dementia (ADRD) prevalence, incidence rate, and risk factors in individuals racialized as Asian and/or Asian-American and assess sample representation. Prevalence, incidence rate, risk factors, and heterogeneity of samples were assessed. Random-effects meta-analysis was conducted, generating pooled estimates. Of 920 records across 14 databases, 45 studies were included. Individuals racialized as Asian and/or Asian-American were mainly from Eastern and Southern Asia, had higher education, and constituted a smaller sample relative to non-Hispanic white cohorts. The average prevalence was 10.9%, ranging from 0.4% to 46%. The average incidence rate was 20.03 (12.01-33.8) per 1000 person-years with a range of 75.19-13.59 (12.89-14.33). Risk factors included physiological, genetic, psychological, behavioral, and social factors. This review underscores the systemic underrepresentation of individuals racialized as Asian and/or Asian-American in ADRD research and the need for inclusive approaches accounting for culture, language, and immigration status. HIGHLIGHTS: There is considerable heterogeneity in the prevalence of ADRD among studies of Asian-Americans. There is limited data on group-specific risk factors for ADRD among Asian-Americans. The average prevalence of (ADRD) among Asian-Americans was found to be 7.4%, with a wide range from 0.5% to 46%.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Cognitive impairment (CoI), chronic kidney disease (CKD), and depression are prevalent among older adults and are interrelated, imposing a significant disease burden. This study evaluates the association of CKD and depression with CoI and explores their potential interactions. METHOD Data for this study were sourced from the 2011-2014 National Health and Nutritional Examination Survey (NHANES). Multiple binary logistic regression models assessed the relationship between CKD, depression, and CoI while controlling for confounders. The interactions were measured using the relative excess risk of interaction (RERI), the attributable proportion of interaction (AP), and the synergy index (S). RESULTS A total of 2,666 participants (weighted n = 49,251,515) were included in the study, of which 700 (16.00%) had CoI. After adjusting for confounding factors, the risk of CoI was higher in patients with CKD compared to non-CKD participants (odds ratio [OR] = 1.49, 95% confidence interval [CI]:1.12-1.99). The risk of CoI was significantly increased in patients with depression compared to those without (OR = 2.29, 95% CI: 1.73-3.03). Furthermore, there was a significant additive interaction between CKD and depression in terms of the increased risk of CoI (adjusted RERI = 2.01, [95% CI: 0.31-3.71], adjusted AP = 0.50 [95% CI: 0.25-0.75], adjusted S = 2.97 [95% CI: 1.27-6.92]). CONCLUSION CKD and depression synergistically affect CoI, particularly when moderate-to-severe depression co-occurs with CKD. Clinicians should be mindful of the combined impact on patients with CoI. Further research is needed to elucidate the underlying mechanisms and assess the effects specific to different CKD stages.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Late-life depression and white matter hyperintensities (WMH) have been linked to increased dementia risk. However, there is a dearth of literature examining these relationships in Black adults. We investigated whether depression or WMH volume are associated with a higher likelihood of dementia diagnosis in a sample of late middle-aged to older Black adults, and whether dementia prevalence is highest in individuals with both depression and higher WMH volume. METHODS Secondary data analysis involved 443 Black participants aged 55+ with brain imaging within 1 year of baseline visit in the National Alzheimer's Coordinating Center Uniform Data Set. Chi-square analyses and logistic regression models controlling for demographic variables examined whether active depression in the past 2 years, WMH volume, or their combination were associated with higher odds of all-cause dementia. RESULTS Depression and higher WMH volume were associated with a higher prevalence of dementia. These associations remained after controlling for demographic factors, as well as vascular disease burden. Dementia risk was highest in the depression/high WMH volume group compared to the depression-only group, high WMH volume-only group, and the no depression/low WMH volume group. Post hoc analyses comparing the Black sample to a demographically matched non-Hispanic White sample showed associations of depression and the combination of depression and higher WMH burden with dementia were greater in Black compared to non-Hispanic White individuals. DISCUSSION Results suggest late-life depression and WMH have independent and joint relationships with dementia and that Black individuals may be particularly at risk due to these factors.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The authors evaluated whether treatment of late-life depression (LLD) with antidepressants leads to changes in cognitive function. METHODS A systematic review and meta-analysis of prospective studies of antidepressant pharmacotherapy for adults age 50 or older (or mean age of 65 or older) with LLD was conducted. MEDLINE, EMBASE, and PsycInfo were searched through December 31, 2022. The primary outcome was a change on cognitive test scores from baseline to after treatment. Secondary outcomes included the effects of specific medications and the associations between changes in depressive symptoms and cognitive test scores. Participants with bipolar disorder, psychotic depression, dementia, or neurological disease were excluded. Findings from all eligible studies were synthesized at a descriptive level, and a random-effects model was used to pool the results for meta-analysis. RESULTS Twenty-two studies were included. Thirteen of 19 studies showed an improvement on at least one cognitive test after antidepressant pharmacotherapy, with the most robust evidence for the memory and learning (nine of 16 studies) and processing speed (seven of 10 studies) domains and for sertraline (all five studies). Improvements in depressive symptoms were associated with improvement in cognitive test scores in six of seven relevant studies. The meta-analysis (eight studies; N=493) revealed a statistically significant overall improvement in memory and learning (five studies: effect size=0.254, 95% CI=0.103-0.404, SE=0.077); no statistically significant changes were seen in other cognitive domains. The evaluated risk of publication bias was low. CONCLUSION Antidepressant pharmacotherapy of LLD appears to improve certain domains of cognitive function, particularly memory and learning. This effect may be mediated by an improvement in depressive symptoms. Studies comparing individuals receiving pharmacotherapy with untreated control participants are needed.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To investigate the effect of neuropsychiatric symptoms and depression symptoms, respectively, and Alzheimer disease (AD) biomarkers (cerebrospinal fluid [CSF] or Positron Emission Tomography [PET] imaging) on the progression to incident cognitive impairment among cognitively normal older adults. DESIGN Prospective, observation, longitudinal study. SETTING Knight Alzheimer Disease Research Center (ADRC) at Washington University School of Medicine. PARTICIPANTS Older adults aged 65 and above who participated in AD longitudinal studies (n = 286). MEASUREMENTS CSF and PET biomarkers, Clinical Dementia Rating (CDR), Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS), and Neuropsychiatric Inventory Questionnaire (NPI-Q). RESULTS Participants had an average follow-up of eight years, and 31 progressed from CDR 0 to CDR >0. After adjusting for sex, age, and education in the Cox proportional hazards survival models, neuropsychiatric symptoms as a time-dependent covariate was statistically significant in the three CSF (Aβ42/Aβ40, t-Tau/Aβ42, p-Tau/Aβ42) PET imaging models (HR = 1.33-1.50). The biomarkers were also significant as main effects (HR = 2.00-4.04). Change in depression symptoms was not significant in any models. The interactions between biomarkers and neuropsychiatric symptoms and depression were not statistically significant. CONCLUSIONS Changes in neuropsychiatric symptoms increase the risk of progression to cognitive impairment among healthy, cognitively normal adults, independent of AD biomarkers. Routine assessment of neuropsychiatric symptoms could provide valuable clinical information about cognitive functioning and preclinical disease state.

Abstract
Age and depression may interact to produce a "double jeopardy" for cognitive impairment, and executive functioning, in cognitively unimpaired aging. Few studies have considered middle age or the ethnoracial diversity of subjects, despite evidence of more severe cognitive outcomes in historically minoritized people. In this pilot study, we investigated the impact of age on depression-related cognitive impairment and the underlying brain volumes in middle-aged non-Hispanic White adults (116), and Hispanic and Black adults (60), with a total number of 176 adults. The result shows a significant interaction between age and depression for executive functioning, specifically for middle-aged Hispanic and Black adults, but not non-Hispanic White adults. Prefrontal cortex volumes, which were reduced in the Black and Hispanic compared to the non-Hispanic White adults, partially mediated the relationship between depression level and executive functioning, across age and ethnoracial group. Collectively, these results suggest that the negative impact of depression on executive functioning and Prefrontal cortex volumes integrity may be exacerbated by age and that historically minoritized people may be particularly sensitive to this double jeopardy.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Neuropsychiatric symptoms (NPS) are a risk factor for dementia; however, their prevalence and severity among ethnoracial groups are poorly understood. METHODS We used data from the National Alzheimer's Coordinating Center (NACC) (n = 6958; ≥50 years old). Cognitively normal participants at baseline, without any NPS or dementia diagnosis, had at least one follow-up. Survival analyses assessed the hazard ratio for 12 NPS models and progression to cognitive impairment. Propensity score weighting (PSW) matched participants on age, sex, education, and race/ethnicity. RESULTS All 12 NPS were significantly associated with progression to cognitive impairment. In the PSW models, compared to whites, Black/African Americans were more likely to progress to cognitive impairment across all 12 NPS models, followed by Hispanic, and then Asian participants. DISCUSSION PSW minimized selection bias to provide robust risk estimates. There is a higher risk of progressing to cognitive impairment for ethnoracial groups with NPS. Tailored screening of NPS and cognitive impairment should incorporate patient and caregiver reports.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Parkinson's disease (PD) is the second most common neurodegenerative disorder among older adults worldwide. Currently, studies of PD progression rely primarily on White non-Latino (WNL) patients. Here, we compare clinical profiles and PD progression in Latino and WNL patients enrolled in a community-based study in rural Central California. METHOD PD patients within 5 years of diagnosis were identified from 3 counties between 2001 and 2015. During up to 3 visits, participants were examined by movement disorders specialists and interviewed. We analyzed cross-sectional differences in PD clinical features severity at each study visit and used linear mixed models and Cox proportional hazards models to compare motor, nonmotor, and disability progression longitudinally and to assess time to death in Latinos compared to WNL patients. RESULTS Of 775 patients included, 138 (18%) self-identified as Latino and presented with earlier age at diagnosis (63.6 vs 68.9) and death (78.6 vs 81.5) than WNL. Motor (hazard ratio [HR] = 1.17 [0.71, 1.94]) and nonmotor symptoms did not progress faster in Latino versus WNL patients after accounting for differences in baseline symptom severity. However, Latino patients progressed to disability stages according to Hoehn and Yahr faster than WNL (HR = 1.81 [1.11, 2.96]). Motor and nonmotor symptoms in Latino patients were also medically managed less well than in WNL. CONCLUSIONS Our PD study with a large proportion of Latino enrollees and progression data reveals disparities in clinical features and progression by ethnicity that may reflect healthcare access and structural socioeconomic disadvantages in Latino patients with PD.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Affective symptoms are dementia risk factors. Mild behavioral impairment (MBI) is a neurobehavioral syndrome that refines incorporation of psychiatric symptomatology into dementia prognostication by stipulating symptoms must emerge de novo in later life and persist for ≥6 months. Here, we investigated the longitudinal association of MBI-affective dysregulation with incident dementia. METHODS National Alzheimer Coordinating Centre participants with normal cognition (NC) or mild cognitive impairment (MCI) were included. MBI-affective dysregulation was operationalized as Neuropsychiatric Inventory Questionnaire-measured depression, anxiety, and elation at two consecutive visits. Comparators had no neuropsychiatric symptoms (no NPS) in advance of dementia. Cox proportional hazard models were implemented to assess the risk of dementia, adjusted for age, sex, years of education, race, cognitive diagnosis, and APOE-ε4 status, with interaction terms as appropriate. RESULTS The final sample included 3698 no-NPS (age:72.8; 62.7 % female), and 1286 MBI-affective dysregulation participants (age:75; 54.5 % female). MBI-affective dysregulation had lower dementia-free survival (p < 0.0001) and greater incidence of dementia (HR = 1.76, CI:1.48-2.08, p < 0.001) versus no NPS. Interaction analyses revealed that MBI-affective dysregulation was associated with higher dementia incidence in Black participants than White (HR = 1.70, CI:1.00-2.87, p = 0.046), NC than MCI (HR = 1.73, CI:1.21-2.48, p = 0.0028), and APOE-ε4 noncarriers than carriers (HR = 1.47, CI:1.06-2.02, p = 0.0195). Of MBI-affective dysregulation converters to dementia, 85.5 % developed Alzheimer's disease, which increased to 91.4 % in those with amnestic MCI. LIMITATIONS MBI-affective dysregulation was not stratified by symptom to further examine dementia risk. CONCLUSIONS Emergent and persistent affective dysregulation in dementia-free older adults is associated with substantial risk for dementia and should be considered in clinical assessments.

Abstract
Depression is frequent in older individuals and is often associated with cognitive impairment and increasing risk of subsequent dementia. Late-life depression (LLD) has a negative impact on quality of life, yet the underlying pathobiology is still poorly understood. It is characterized by considerable heterogeneity in clinical manifestation, genetics, brain morphology, and function. Although its diagnosis is based on standard criteria, due to overlap with other age-related pathologies, the relationship between depression and dementia and the relevant structural and functional cerebral lesions are still controversial. LLD has been related to a variety of pathogenic mechanisms associated with the underlying age-related neurodegenerative and cerebrovascular processes. In addition to biochemical abnormalities, involving serotonergic and GABAergic systems, widespread disturbances of cortico-limbic, cortico-subcortical, and other essential brain networks, with disruption in the topological organization of mood- and cognition-related or other global connections are involved. Most recent lesion mapping has identified an altered network architecture with "depressive circuits" and "resilience tracts", thus confirming that depression is a brain network dysfunction disorder. Further pathogenic mechanisms including neuroinflammation, neuroimmune dysregulation, oxidative stress, neurotrophic and other pathogenic factors, such as β-amyloid (and tau) deposition are in discussion. Antidepressant therapies induce various changes in brain structure and function. Better insights into the complex pathobiology of LLD and new biomarkers will allow earlier and better diagnosis of this frequent and disabling psychopathological disorder, and further elucidation of its complex pathobiological basis is warranted in order to provide better prevention and treatment of depression in older individuals.

Abstract
Introduction Despite the association of vitamin D deficiency with incident dementia, the role of supplementation is unclear. We prospectively explored associations between vitamin D supplementation and incident dementia in 12,388 dementia-free persons from the National Alzheimer's Coordinating Center. Methods Baseline exposure to vitamin D was considered D+; no exposure prior to dementia onset was considered D-. Kaplan-Meier curves compared dementia-free survival between groups. Cox models assessed dementia incidence rates across groups, adjusted for age, sex, education, race, cognitive diagnosis, depression, and apolipoprotein E (APOE) ε4. Sensitivity analyses examined incidence rates for each vitamin D formulation. Potential interactions between exposure and model covariates were explored. Results Across all formulations, vitamin D exposure was associated with significantly longer dementia-free survival and lower dementia incidence rate than no exposure (hazard ratio = 0.60, 95% confidence interval: 0.55-0.65). The effect of vitamin D on incidence rate differed significantly across the strata of sex, cognitive status, and APOE ε4 status. Discussion Vitamin D may be a potential agent for dementia prevention. Highlights In a prospective cohort study, we assessed effects of Vitamin D on dementia incidence in 12,388 participants from the National Alzheimer's Coordinating Center dataset.Vitamin D exposure was associated with 40% lower dementia incidence versus no exposure.Vitamin D effects were significantly greater in females versus males and in normal cognition versus mild cognitive impairment.Vitamin D effects were significantly greater in apolipoprotein E ε4 non-carriers versus carriers.Vitamin D has potential for dementia prevention, especially in the high-risk strata.
