Abstract
Metal nanoparticles (NPs) are widely used in biomedicine, catalysis, environment, electronics, and other fields, which is closely related to its structural form. For this purpose, researchers have been looking for a simple, green, and controllable way to mass produce metal nanomaterials with desired characteristics (shape, size, stability, etc.). Due to the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) effect of metal nanoparticles, photoreduction method can control the morphology of metal nanoparticles well, which is also simple, large-scalable, and energy-saving. This review provides an overview of the photoreduction method for the synthesis of metal nanoparticles and discusses the factors such as the light source, pH value, reagents, and temperature on the morphology of the nanoparticles. Finally, the challenges and development trends in the controlled preparation of nanomaterials are proposed.

Abstract
Herein, we report for the first time a biocompatible cross-linked trianglamine (Δ) network for the efficient iodine removal from the vapor phase, water, and seawater. In the vapor phase, the cross-linked network could capture 6 g g-1 of iodine, ranking among the most performant materials for iodine vapor capture. In the liquid phase, this cross-linked network is also capable of capturing iodine at high rates from aqueous media (water and seawater). This network displayed fast adsorption kinetics, and they are fully recyclable. This study reveals the high affinity of iodine for the intrinsic cavity of the trianglamine. The synthesized materials are extremely interesting since they are environmentally friendly and inexpensive and the synthesis could easily be scaled up to be used as the material of choice in response to accidents in the nuclear industry.

Abstract
This review discusses, in brief, the various synthetic methods of two widely-used nanofillers; phyllosilicate and graphene. Both are 2D fillers introduced into hydrogel matrices to achieve mechanical robustness and water uptake behavior. Both the fillers are inserted by physical and chemical gelation methods where most of the chemical gelation, i.e., covalent approaches, results in better physical properties compared to their physical gels. Physical gels occur due to supramolecular assembly, van der Waals interactions, electrostatic interactions, hydrophobic associations, and H-bonding. For chemical gelation, in situ radical triggered gelation mostly occurs.

Abstract
When multiple intermolecular interactions occur simultaneously, complexed molecules undergo gelation by inter-cohesive bonding, inducing a pseudo-crosslinking effect to form a supramolecular gel. Among the number of substances that can induce supramolecular assembly, phenolic species such as 3,4-dihydroxy-l-phenylalanine (DOPA) are widely utilized for synthesizing adhesive materials. However, despite the strong adhesion capability of monomeric phenol, it lacks cohesive strength and rarely forms a supramolecular gel to secure its mechanical properties. In this study, to overcome this obstacle, we synthesized a supramolecular coacervate hydrogel by simply mixing poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) and tannic acid (TA), resulting in strong cohesive interactions by virtue of the larger molecular size of TA and reinforced molecular interactions attributed to the presence of galloyl groups with a high density. We further analyzed the rheological and adhesive properties of PVP-TA coacervate hydrogels, revealing that they could exhibit not only a self-healing property, but also super adhesive properties with an average adhesion strength of 3.71 MPa on a glass substrate, which is >4 times stronger than that of conventional PVP.

Abstract
Homo- and hetero-bifunctional linkers play vital roles in constructing a variety of functional systems, ranging from protein bioconjugates with drugs and functional agents, to surface modification of nanoparticles and living cells, and to the cyclization/dimerization of synthetic polymers and biomolecules. Conventional approaches for assaying conjugation extents typically rely on ex situ techniques, such as mass spectrometry, gel electrophoresis, and size-exclusion chromatography. If the conjugation process involving bifunctional linkers was rendered fluorogenic, then in situ monitoring, quantification, and optical tracking/visualization of relevant processes would be achieved. In this review, conventional non-fluorogenic linkers are first discussed. Then the focus is on the evolution and emerging applications of fluorogenic bifunctional linkers, which are categorized into hetero-bifunctional single-caging fluorogenic linkers, homo-bifunctional double-caging fluorogenic linkers, and hetero-bifunctional double-caging fluorogenic linkers. In addition, stimuli-cleavable bifunctional linkers designed for both conjugation and subsequent site-specific triggered release are also summarized.

Abstract
A new method of supramolecular polymerization at the water-oil interface is developed. As a demonstration, an oil-soluble supramonomer containing two thiol end groups linked by two ureidopyrimidinone units and a water-soluble monomer bearing two maleimide end groups are employed. Supramolecular interfacial polymerization can be implemented by a thiol-maleimide click reaction at the water-chloroform interface to obtain supramolecular polymeric films. The glass transition temperature of such supramolecular polymers can be well-tuned by simply changing the polymerization time and temperature. It is highly anticipated that this work will provide a facile and general approach to realize control over supramolecular polymerization by transferring the preparation of supramolecular polymers from solutions to water-oil interfaces and construct supramolecular materials with well-defined properties.

Abstract
A unique supramolecular two-component gelation system was constructed from amphiphilic shape-persistent cyclo[6]aramides and diethylammonium chloride (or triethylammonium chloride). This system has the ability to discriminate native arginine from 19 other amino acids in a specific fashion. Cyclo[6]aramides show preferential binding for the guanidinium residue over ammonium groups. This specificity was confirmed by both experimental results and theoretical simulations. These results demonstrated a new modular displacement strategy, exploring the use of species-binding hydrogen-bonded macrocyclic foldamers for the construction of two-component gelation systems for selective recognition of native amino acids by competitive host-guest interactions. This strategy may be amenable to developing a variety of functional two-component gelators for specific recognition of various targeted organic molecular species.

Abstract
A supramolecular cross-linked cross-linker, capable of introducing rotaxane cross-links to vinyl polymers, has been developed for the rational synthesis of polyrotaxane networks. The experimental results reveal that the combination of an oligocyclodextrin (OCD) and a terminal bulky group-tethering macromonomer (TBM) forms a polymer-network structure having polymerizable moieties through supramolecular cross-linking. Radical polymerization of a variety of typical vinyl monomers in the presence of the vinylic supramolecular cross-linker (VSC) afforded the corresponding vinyl polymers cross-linked through the rotaxane cross-links (RCP) as transparent stable films in high yields under both photoinitiated and thermal polymerization conditions. A poly(N,N-dimethylacrylamide)-based hydrogel synthesized by using VSC, RCPDMAAm , displayed a unique mechanical property. The small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) results, indicating patterns characteristic of a polyrotaxane network, clearly suggested the presence and role of the rotaxane cross-links. The confirmation of the introduction of rotaxane-cross-links into vinyl polymers strongly reveals the significant usefulness of VSC.
