Abstract
Atropo-enantioselective biaryl coupling through C-H bond functionalization is an emerging technology allowing direct construction of axially chiral molecules. This approach is largely limited to electrophilic coupling partners. We report a highly atropo-enantioselective C-H arylation of tetralone derivatives paired with aryl boronic esters as nucleophilic components. The transformation is catalyzed by chiral cyclopentadienyl (Cpx ) iridium(III) complexes and enabled by oxidatively enhanced reductive elimination from high-valent cyclometalated Ir-species.

Abstract
A new class of C2 -symmetric, chiral cyclopentadienyl ligand based on planar chiral ferrocene backbone was developed. A series of its corresponding rhodium(I), iridium(I), and ruthenium(II) complexes were prepared as well. In addition, the rhodium(I) complexes were evaluated in the asymmetric catalytic intramolecular amidoarylation of olefin-tethered benzamides via C-H activation.

Abstract
A chiral Cpx RhIII catalyst system in situ generated from a Cpx RhI (cod) precatalyst and bis(o-toluoyl) peroxide as activating oxidant was developed for a C-H activation/ring-opening sequence between aryl ketoxime ethers and 2,3-diazabicyclo[2.2.1]hept-5-enes. This transformation provides access to densely functionalized chiral cyclopentenylamines in excellent yields and enantioselectivities of up to 97:3 er. The reported method is also well suitable for asymmetric alkenyl C-H functionalizations of α,β-unsaturated oxime ethers, furnishing skipped dienes with high levels of enantiocontrol.

Abstract
Chiral cyclopentadienyl (Cpx ) ligands have a large application potential in enantioselective transition-metal catalysis. However, the development of concise and practical routes to such ligands remains in its infancy. We present a convenient and efficient two-step synthesis of a novel class of chiral Cpx ligands with tunable steric properties that can be readily used for complexation, giving Cpx RhI , Cpx IrI , and Cpx RuII complexes. The potential of this ligand class is demonstrated with the latter in the enantioselective cyclization of azabenzonorbornadienes with alkynes, affording dihydrobenzoindoles in up to 98:2 e.r., significantly outperforming existing binaphthyl-derived Cpx ligands.

Abstract
The electronic and steric properties of tailored cyclopentadienyl (Cp) ligands are powerful handles to modulate the catalytic properties of their metal complexes. This requires the individual preparation, purification and storage of each ligand/metal combination. Alternative, ideally in situ, complexation protocols would be of high utility. We disclose a new approach to access Cp metal complexes. Common metal precursors rapidly react with cyclopentadienyl carbinols via β-carbon eliminations to directly give the Cp-metal complexes. An advantage of this is the direct and flexible use of storable pre-ligands. No auxiliary base is required and the Cp complexes can be prepared in situ in the reaction vessel for subsequent catalytic transformations.

Abstract
Reported is the enantioselective synthesis of tetracyclic indolines using silver(I)/chiral phosphoric acid catalysis. A variety of alkyne-tethered indoles are suitable for this process. Mechanistic studies suggest that the in situ generated silver(I) chiral phosphate activates both the alkyne and the indole nucleophile in the initial cyclization step through an intermolecular hydrogen bond and the phosphate anion promotes proton transfer. In addition, further modifications of the cyclization products enabled stereochemistry-function studies of a series of bioactive indolines.
