Abstract
We describe an iron-catalyzed asymmetric oxidative C-C coupling of diarylamines which proceeds at room temperature with air as final oxidant. Using hexadecafluorophthalocyanine-iron(II) as catalyst in the presence of catalytic amounts of an axially chiral biaryl phosphoric acid, the resulting chiral 2,2'-diamino-1,1'-biaryls are obtained in up to 90 % ee as confirmed by chiral HPLC. A detailed mechanism has been proposed with a radical cation-chiral phosphate ion pair as key intermediate leading to the observed asymmetric induction.

Abstract
Anionic salicylimine-based cobalt (III) complexes featuring chiral ligands derived from isoleucine amino acids were used as efficient bifunctional phase-transfer catalysts for electrophilic iodination of enol ethers. The Brønsted acids of these complexes enabled the enantioselective asymmetric iodocyclization of enol ethers, furnishing spiro-fused oxazoline derivatives in high yields with up to 90:10 er. In addition, chiral cobalt (III) complexes catalyze the asymmetric intermolecular iodoacetalization of enol ethers with various alcohols to afford 3-iodoacetal derivatives in high yields with up to 92:8 er.

Abstract
The mode of asymmetric induction in an enantioselective intramolecular allylic substitution reaction catalyzed by a combination of palladium and a chiral phosphoric acid was investigated by a combined experimental and statistical modeling approach. Experiments to probe nonlinear effects, the reactivity of deuterium-labeled substrates, and control experiments revealed that nucleophilic attack to the π-allylpalladium intermediate is the enantio-determining step, in which the chiral phosphate anion is involved in stereoinduction. Using multivariable linear regression analysis, we determined that multiple noncovalent interactions with the chiral environment of the phosphate anion are integral to enantiocontrol in the transition state. The synthetic protocol to form chiral pyrrolidines was further applied to the asymmetric construction of C-O bonds at fully substituted carbon centers in the synthesis of chiral 2,2-disubstituted benzomorpholines.

Abstract
A chiral phosphoric acid-catalyzed kinetic resolution and desymmetrization of para-quinols operating via oxa-Michael addition was developed and subsequently subjected to mechanistic study. Good to excellent s-factors/enantioselectivities were obtained over a broad range of substrates. Kinetic studies were performed, and DFT studies favor a hydrogen bonding activation mode. The mechanistic studies provide insights to previously reported chiral anion phase transfer reactions involving chiral phosphate catalysts in combination with boronic acids.

Abstract
A copper-catalyzed enantioselective arylative desymmetrization of prochiral cyclopentenes with diaryliodonium salts was developed. In the presence of a catalytic amount of a chiral copper-bisoxazoline complex, which was generated in situ, the reaction of 4-substituted or 4,4-disubstituted cyclopent-1-enes with diaryliodonium hexafluoroarsenates afforded the chiral arylated products in good yields with excellent enantioselectivity. A cyclohexyl-containing Box ligand was essential for the high enantioselectivity. Transformation of the enantiomerically enriched adducts into other chiral building blocks is also documented.
