Abstract
Proton conductors have attracted great attention in various fields, especially in energy production. Here, we find that graphdiyne oxide (GDYO), derived from graphdiyne (GDY), features the highest proton conductivity of 0.54 S cm-1 (100 % RH, 348 K) among the oxidized carbon allotropes reported so far. The sp- and sp2 -co-hybridized carbon skeleton of GDY enables GDYO with the giant water uptake, which is 2.4 times larger than that of graphene oxide (GO), resulting in ultrahigh proton conductivity by increasing the proton concentration and proton conduction pathways. This ultrahigh proton conductivity of GDYO is further proved in a methanol fuel cell by using GDYO membrane as proton exchange membrane. The GDYO membrane enables the cell with higher open circuit voltage, larger power density and lower methanol permeability, compared with commercial Nafion 117. Moreover, the GDYO membrane bears high ion exchange capacity, good acidic stability and low swelling ratio.

Abstract
Graphdiyne (GDY), a well-known 2D carbon allotrope, demonstrates increasing fantastic performance in various fields owing to its outstanding electronic properties. Owing to its unique properties, electrochemiluminescence (ECL) technology is one powerful tool for understanding fundamental questions and for ultrasensitive sensing and imaging. Here, we firstly find that GDY without any functionalization or treatment shows a strong ECL emission with potassium persulfate (K2 S2 O8 ) as coreactant, which is totally different with other carbon allotropes. Mechanistic study indicates that the ECL emission of GDY is generated by the surface state transition. Interestingly, ECL is generated at 705 nm in the near infrared region with an ECL efficiency of 424 % compared to that of Ru(bpy)3 Cl2 /K2 S2 O8 . The study demonstrates a new character of GDY in ECL investigation and sets the stage for the development of GDY for emerging applications, including imaging and light-emitting devices.

Abstract
Biological nanochannels perfectly operate in organisms and exquisitely control mass transmembrane transport for complex life process. Inspired by biological nanochannels, plenty of intelligent artificial solid-state nanopores and nanochannels are constructed based on various materials and methods with the development of nanotechnology. Specially, the light-controlled nanopores/nanochannels have attracted much attention due to the unique advantages in terms of that ion and molecular transport can be regulated remotely, spatially and temporally. According to the structure and function of biological ion channels, light-controlled solid-state nanopores/nanochannels can be divided into light-regulated ion channels with ion gating and ion rectification functions, and light-driven ion pumps with active ion transport property. In this review, we present a systematic overview of light-controlled ion channels and ion pumps according to the photo-responsive components in the system. Then, the related applications of solid-state nanopores/nanochannels for molecular sensing, water purification and energy conversion are discussed. Finally, a brief conclusion and short outlook are offered for future development of the nanopore/nanochannel field.

Abstract
The past decades have witnessed a rapid expansion in investigations of two-dimensional (2D) monoelemental materials (Xenes), which are promising materials in various fields, including applications in optoelectronic devices, biomedicine, catalysis, and energy storage. Apart from graphene and phosphorene, recently emerging 2D Xenes, specifically graphdiyne, borophene, arsenene, antimonene, bismuthene, and tellurene, have attracted considerable interest due to their unique optical, electrical, and catalytic properties, endowing them a broader range of intriguing applications. In this review, the structures and properties of these emerging Xenes are summarized based on theoretical and experimental results. The synthetic approaches for their fabrication, mainly bottom-up and top-down, are presented. Surface modification strategies are also shown. The wide applications of these emerging Xenes in nonlinear optical devices, optoelectronics, catalysis, biomedicine, and energy application are further discussed. Finally, this review concludes with an assessment of the current status, a description of existing scientific and application challenges, and a discussion of possible directions to advance this fertile field.

Abstract
The new carbon material graphdiyne (GDY) has been verified to have a great application prospect in electrochemical field. In order to study its properties and expand its scope of application, various experiments including structural control tests are imposed on GDY. Among them, as one of the most commonly used methods to modify the structure, heteroatom doping is favored for its advantages in synthesis methods and the control of mechanical, electrical and even magnetic properties of carbon materials. According to the published studies, the top-down methods of doping heteroatoms for GDY only need cheap raw materials, simple synthetic route and strong controllability, which is conducive to rapid performance breakthroughs in electrochemical applications. This review selects the typical cases in the development of that post-modification method from the application of GDY in the electrochemical field. Here, based on the existed reports, the commonly used non-metal elements (such as nitrogen, sulfur) and metal elements (such as iron) have been introduced to post-modify GDY. Then, a detailed analysis is made for corresponding electrochemical applications, such as energy storage and electrocatalysis. Finally, the challenges and prospects of post-modified GDY in synthesis and electrochemical applications are proposed. This review provides us a useful guidance for the development of high-quality GDY suitable for electrochemical applications.

Abstract
As a new kind of two-dimensional carbon allotrope, graphdiyne (GDY) consists of sp- and sp2-hybridized carbon atoms and has recently been used for developing highly efficient photocatalytic systems because of its unique properties. In this study, we find that GDY can form a Pickering emulsion with silver phosphate (Ag3PO4) nanoparticles that exhibits largely enhanced photocatalytic activity in the visible-light region. In this system, Ag3PO4 acts as a photocatalytically active semiconductor with GDY as the hydrophobic nanostructure. Photocatalytic activity of the Ag3PO4/GDY-based Pickering emulsion toward the photodegradation of methylene blue (MB) and photooxidation of water is investigated under visible-light irradiation. Compared to previous Ag3PO4/CNT- or Ag3PO4/graphene-based Pickering emulsions, the Ag3PO4/GDY-based emulsion efficiently catalyzes MB degradation with a higher apparent rate constant k being ∼0.477 min-1, while for water oxidation its photocatalytic activity is also improved by 1.89 and 1.75 times, respectively. Such an enhancement in the photocatalytic activity is mainly ascribed to the capability of GDY in acting as an acceptor of the photogenerated electrons from Ag3PO4 nanoparticles and in facilitating the hole transportation as well as in reducing Ag+ to Ag0. This study demonstrates that GDY is a new candidate with a promising future in developing photocatalytic systems with high efficiency for real applications.
