Abstract
Transition metal-catalyzed enantioselective C-H activation of prochiral sulfoximines for non-annulated products remains a formidable challenge. We herein report iridium-catalyzed enantioselective C-H borylation of N-silyl diaryl sulfoximines using a well-designed chiral bidentate boryl ligand with a bulky side arm. This method is capable of accommodating a broad range of substrates under mild reaction conditions, affording a vast array of chiral sulfoximines with high enantioselectivities. We also demonstrated the synthetic utility on a preparative-scale C-H borylation for diverse downstream transformations, including the synthesis of chiral version of bioactive molecules. Computational studies showed that the bulky side arm of the ligand confers high regio- and enantioselectivity through steric effect.

Abstract
Enantioselective C-H activation has surfaced as a transformative toolbox for the efficient assembly of chiral molecules. However, despite of major advances in rhodium and palladium catalysis, ruthenium(II)-catalyzed enantioselective C-H activation has thus far largely proven elusive. In contrast, we herein report on a ruthenium(II)-catalyzed highly regio-, diastereo- and enantioselective C-H alkylation. The key to success was represented by the identification of novel C2-symmetric chiral imidazolidine carboxylic acids (CICAs), which are easily accessible in a one-pot fashion, as highly effective chiral ligands. This ruthenium/CICA system enabled the efficient installation of central and axial chirality, and featured excellent branched to linear ratios with generally >20 : 1 dr and up to 98 : 2 er. Mechanistic studies by experiment and computation were carried out to understand the catalyst mode of action.

Abstract
Among sulfoximine derivatives containing a chiral sulfur center, benzothiadiazine-1-oxides are important for applications in medicinal chemistry. Here, we report that the combination of an achiral cobalt(III) catalyst and a pseudo-C2 -symmetric H8 -binaphthyl chiral carboxylic acid enables the asymmetric synthesis of benzothiadiazine-1-oxides from sulfoximines and dioxazolones via enantioselective C-H bond cleavage. With the optimized protocol, benzothiadiazine-1-oxides with several functional groups can be accessed with high enantioselectivity.

Abstract
Chiral cyclopentadienyl rhodium (CpRh) complex-catalyzed asymmetric C-H functionalization reactions have witnessed a significant progress in organic synthesis. In sharp contrast, the reported chiral Cp ligands are limited to C-linked Cp and are often synthetically challenging. To address these issues, we have developed a novel class of tunable chiral cyclopentadienyl ligands bearing oxygen linkers, which were efficient catalysts for C-H arylation of benzo[h]quinolines with 1-diazonaphthoquinones, affording axially chiral heterobiaryls in excellent yields and enantioselectivity (up to 99 % yield, 98.5:1.5 er). Mechanistic studies suggest that the reaction is likely to proceed by electrophilic C-H activation, and followed by coupling of the cyclometalated rhodium(III) complex with 1-diazonaphthoquinones.

Abstract
Sulfinylamines (R-N=S=O), monoaza analogues of sulfur dioxide, have been known for well over a century, and their reactivity as sulfur electrophiles and in Diels-Alder reactions is well-established. However, they have only rarely been used in organic synthesis in recent decades despite the increasing prominence of compounds containing N=S=O functionality, such as sulfoximines and sulfonimidamides. This Minireview aims to bring wider visibility to the unique chemistry enabled by this class of compounds. We focus on advances from the last 10 years, including the first examples of their use in the one-pot syntheses of sulfoximines and sulfonimidamides. Also covered are the reactions of sulfinylamines with carbon-centred radicals, their use for formation of heterocycles through cycloadditions, and catalytic enantioselective allylic oxidation of alkenes via a hetero-ene reaction. These examples highlight the different reactivity modes of sulfinylamines and their underappreciated potential for forming molecules which contain high- or low-valent sulfur, or even no sulfur at all.

Abstract
In the last two decades tremendous progress has been made in transition-metal (TM)-catalyzed C-H bond functionalization, paving the way to design complex molecules. Despite significant advances, enantioselective C-H activation is still in the age of infancy. For the enantioselective synthesis, several TM catalyst based approaches are well known, including kinetic resolution (KR) and its advanced versions [dynamic kinetic resolution (DKR) and parallel kinetic resolution (PKR)]. These strategies have recently been successfully applied synergetically with the TM catalyzed C-H activation to achieve enantioselective synthesis in a more economical and sustainable way. This review will summarize the recent advancements made towards merging KR with TM-catalysed C-H activation for enantioselective synthesis.

Abstract
Kinetic resolution using biocatalysis has proven to be an excellent complementary technique to traditional asymmetric catalysis for the production of enantioenriched compounds. Resolution using oxidative enzymes produces valuable oxygenated structures for use in synthetic route development. This Minireview focuses on enzymes which catalyse the insertion of an oxygen atom into the substrate and, in so doing, can achieve oxidative kinetic resolution. The Baeyer-Villiger rearrangement, epoxidation, and hydroxylation are included, and biological advancements in enzyme development, and applications of these key enantioenriched intermediates in natural product synthesis are discussed.

Abstract
A new class of C2 -symmetric, chiral cyclopentadienyl ligand based on planar chiral ferrocene backbone was developed. A series of its corresponding rhodium(I), iridium(I), and ruthenium(II) complexes were prepared as well. In addition, the rhodium(I) complexes were evaluated in the asymmetric catalytic intramolecular amidoarylation of olefin-tethered benzamides via C-H activation.

Abstract
A new class of chiral cyclopentadienyl rhodium(I) complexes (CpRhI ) bearing C2 -symmetric chiral bridged-ring-fused Cp ligands was prepared. The complexes were successfully applied to the asymmetric C-H activation reaction of N-methoxybenzamides with quinones, affording a series of chiral hydrophenanthridinones in up to 82 % yield with up to 99 % ee. Interestingly, structure analysis reveals that the side wall of the optimal chiral CpRhI catalyst is vertically more extended, horizontally less extended, and closer to the metal center in comparison with the classic binaphthyl and spirobiindanyl CpRhI complexes, and may thus account for its superior catalytic performance.

Abstract
Enantioselective carboaminations of olefins constitute an attractive strategy for a rapid increase in molecular complexity from readily available starting materials. Reported here is an intermolecular asymmetric carboamination of acrylates using rhodium(III)-catalyzed alkenyl C-H activations of N-enoxysuccinimides to generate the nitrogen and carbon portion for the transfer. A rhodium complex equipped with a tailored bulky trisubstituted chiral Cpx ligand ensures carboamination chemoselectivity as well high levels of enantioinduction. The transformation operates under mild reaction conditions at ambient temperatures and provides access to a variety of α-amino esters in good yields and excellent enantiomeric ratios of >99.5:0.5.

Abstract
Transition-metal-catalyzed C-H functionalization reactions with Cp*MIII catalysts (M=Co, Rh, Ir) have found a wide variety of applications in organic synthesis. Albeit the intrinsic difficulties in achieving catalytic stereocontrol using these catalysts due to their lack of additional coordination sites for external chiral ligands and the conformational flexibility of the Cp ligand, catalytic enantioselective C-H functionalization reactions using the Group 9 metal triad with Cp-type ligands have been intensively studied since 2012. In this minireview, the progress in these reactions according to the type of the chiral catalyst used are summarized and discussed. The development of chiral Cpx ligands the metal complexes thereof, artificial metalloenzymes, chiral carboxylate-assisted enantioselective C-H activations, enantioselective alkylations assisted by chiral carboxylic acids or chiral sulfonates, and chiral transient directing groups are discussed.

Abstract
Catalytic enantioselective directed methylene C(sp3 )-H amidation reactions of 8-alkylquinolines using a Cp*RhIII /chiral carboxylic acid (CCA) hybrid catalytic system are described. A binaphthyl-based chiral carboxylic acid efficiently differentiates between the enantiotopic methylene C-H bonds, which leads to the formation of C-N bonds with good enantioselectivity.
