Abstract
A new bifunctional ligand bearing chiral N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) and prolinol moieties is presented. Utilizing the designed ligand, an in situ formed Cu/Zn hetero-bimetallic complex unlocks the asymmetric allylic alkylation reactions of allyl phosphates with zinc keto-homoenolates, leading to the formation of various γ-vinyl ketones with good regio- and enantio-selectivity. DF sT calculation supports that the chelation of allyl phosphates with catalyst promotes the SN 2' addition and the ligand-substrate steric interactions account for the stereoselective outcome.

Abstract
The catalytic asymmetric aldol reaction is among the most useful reactions in organic synthesis. Despite the existence of many prominent reports, however, the late-stage, chemoselective, catalytic, asymmetric aldol reaction of multifunctional substrates is still difficult to achieve. Herein, we identified that in situ pre-conversion of carboxylic acids to siloxy esters facilitated the boron-catalyzed direct aldol reaction, leading to the development of carboxylic acid-selective, catalytic, asymmetric aldol reaction applicable to multifunctional substrates. Combining experimental and computational studies rationalized the reaction mechanism and led to the proposal of Si/B enediolates as the active species. The silyl ester formation facilitated both enolization and catalyst turnover by acidifying the α-proton of substrates and attenuating poisonous Lewis bases to the boron catalyst.

Abstract
The application of dinuclear zinc catalysts in a dearomatization reaction has been developed. Catalytic asymmetric dearomatization [3+2] annulations of 2-nitrobenzofurans or 2-nitrobenzothiophenes with CF3 -containing N-unprotected isatin-derived azomethine ylides catalyzed by dinuclear zinc catalysts are realized with excellent diastereomer ratios (dr) of >20 : 1 and enantiomeric excess (ee) of up to 99 %. This protocol provides a practical, straightforward access to structurally diverse pyrrolidinyl spirooxindoles containing a 2,3-fused-dihydrobenzofuran (or dihydrobenzothiphene) moiety, and four contiguous stereocenters. Reactions can be performed on a gram scale. The absolute configuration of products is confirmed by X-ray single crystal structure analysis, and a possible mechanism is proposed.

Abstract
A direct and asymmetric aldol reaction of N‐acyl thiazinanethiones with aromatic aldehydes catalyzed by chiral nickel(II) complexes is reported. The reaction gives the corresponding O‐TIPS‐protected anti‐aldol adducts in high yields and with remarkable stereocontrol and atom economy. Furthermore, the straightforward removal of the achiral scaffold provides enantiomerically pure intermediates of synthetic interest, which involve precursors for anti‐α‐amino‐β‐hydroxy and α,β‐dihydroxy carboxylic derivatives. Theoretical calculations explain the observed high stereocontrol.
