Abstract
A novel series of alkaline earthides containing eight complexes based upon 36adz complexant are designed by placing carefully transition metals (V-Zn) on inner side and alkaline earth metal outer side of the complexant i.e., M+(36adz) Be- (M+ = V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu and Zn). All the designed compounds are electronically and thermodynamically stable as evaluated by their interaction energy and vertical ionization potential respectively. Moreover, the true nature of alkaline earthides is verified through NBOs and FMO study, showing negative charge and excess electrons on alkaline earth metal respectively. Furthermore, true alkaline earthides characteristics are evaluated graphically by spectra of partial density state (PDOS). The energy gap (HOMO -LUMO gap) is very small (ranging 2.95 eV-1.89 eV), when it is compared with pure cage 36adz HOMO-LUMO gap i.e., 8.50 eV. All the complexes show a very small value of transition energy ranging from 1.68eV to 0.89eV. Also, these possess higher hyper polarizability values up to 2.8 x 105au (for Co+(36adz) Be-). Furthermore, an increase in hyper polarizability was observed by applying external electric field on complexes. The remarkable increase of 100fold in hyper polarizability of Zn+(36adz) Be- complex is determined after application of external electric field i.e., from 1.7 x 104 au to 1.7 x 106 au when complex is subjected to external electric field of 0.001 au strength. So, when external electric field is applied on complexes it enhances the charge transfer, polarizability and hyper polarizability of complexes and proves to be effective for designing of true alkaline earthides with remarkable NLO response.

Abstract
Three 3-pyridyl-containing small organic bisamide molecules attached with innocent L-phenylalanine (PHE) side chain as building blocks and positional isomeric toluoyl terminals (PME, MME, and OME) have rationally been designed and synthesized for developing a new series of ZnII-coordination complexes. One of the unique molecular frameworks, having two hydrogen bond-equipped monodentate metal-coordinating sites and biologically potent chiral PHE moiety, was combined with ZnII halide salts under various conditions to produce the coordination complexes (CC1-CC7), thoroughly characterized by the single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SXRD) technique. Maintaining the similar component ratios of acquired CCs in 1:1 DMSO-water produced low-molecular weight metallogels (LMWGs) of PME/MME as envisaged from a rheology- and crystal engineering-based structural rationale. A structure-property correlation from the basis of PXRD of the bulk and xerogels and SXRD data of the isolated single crystals of reaction products clearly supports the crystal engineering-based design strategy based on which the metallogels are prepared. Hand-ground nanoscale ZnCl2-based coordination complex CC1 of PME was also studied for cytotoxicity (HEK-293 cell line) and anticancer activities (B16-F10 cell line) in the MTT assay.

Abstract
Triarylborane-based discrete metal-carbene supramolecular cages [M3(1)2](PF6)3 (M = Ag, Au) were synthesized and characterized. The new hexacarbene assemblies show a significant solvatochromic effect in solvents of different polarity. Furthermore, the reversible fluoride binding property of [Au3(1)2](PF6)3 was investigated by UV-vis absorption and fluorescence titrations. This work holds promise for future developments in the area of highly emissive and stimulus-responsive NHC-metal assemblies.

Abstract
In the past two decades, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) or porous coordination polymers (PCPs) assembled from metal ions or clusters and organic linkers via metal-ligand coordination bonds have captivated significant scientific interest on account of their high crystallinity, exceptional porosity, and tunable pore size, high modularity, and diverse functionality. The opportunity to achieve functional porous materials by design with promising properties, unattainable for solid-state materials in general, distinguishes MOFs from other classes of materials, in particular, traditional porous materials such as activated carbon, silica, and zeolites, thereby leading to complementary properties. Scientists have conducted intense research in the production of chiral MOF (CMOF) materials for specific applications including but not limited to chiral recognition, separation, and catalysis since the discovery of the first functional CMOF (i.e., d- or l-POST-1). At present, CMOFs have become interdisciplinary between chirality chemistry, coordination chemistry, and material chemistry, which involve in many subjects including chemistry, physics, optics, medicine, pharmacology, biology, crystal engineering, environmental science, etc. In this review, we will systematically summarize the recent progress of CMOFs regarding design strategies, synthetic approaches, and cutting-edge applications. In particular, we will highlight the successful implementation of CMOFs in asymmetric catalysis, enantioselective separation, enantioselective recognition, and sensing. We envision that this review will provide readers a good understanding of CMOF chemistry and, more importantly, facilitate research endeavors for the rational design of multifunctional CMOFs and their industrial implementation.

Abstract
A novel and convenient methodology for the one-pot synthesis of sterically congested triarylboranes by using bench-stable aryltrifluoroborates as the boron source is reported. This procedure gives systematic access to symmetrically and unsymmetrically substituted triarylboranes of the types BAr2 Ar' and BArAr'Ar'', respectively. Three unsymmetrically substituted triarylboranes as well as their iridium-catalyzed C-H borylation products are reported. These borylated triarylboranes contain one to three positions that can subsequently be orthogonally functionalized in follow-up reactions, such as Suzuki-Miyaura cross-couplings or Sonogashira couplings.

Abstract
Halogenated triarylboranes (BAr3) have been known for decades, however it has only been since the surge of interest in main group catalysis that their application as strong Lewis acid catalysts has been recognised. This review aims to look past the popular tris(pentafluorophenyl)borane [B(C6F5)3] to the other halogenated triarylboranes, to give a greater breadth of understanding as to how tuning the Lewis acidity of BAr3 by modifications of the aryl rings can lead to improved reactivity. In this review, a discussion on Lewis acidity determination of boranes is given, the synthesis of these boranes is discussed, and examples of how they are being used for catalysis and frustrated Lewis pair (FLP) chemistry are explained.

Abstract
Development of chiral metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) for circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) is a challenging but important task. In this work, we report a first example of azapyrene-based chiral MOF thin films [Zn2Cam2DAP]n grown on functionalized substrates (named SURchirMOF-4) for CPL property. By using a liquid-phase epitaxial layer-by-layer method, the resulted SURchirMOF-4 was constructed from chiral camphoric acid and 2,7-diazapyrene ligand, which has high orientation and homogeneity. The circular dichroism, CPL, and enantioselective adsorption results show that SURchirMOF-4 has strong chirality and CPL property as well as good enantioselective adsorption toward enantiomers of methyl-lactate. The synthesis of azapyrene-based chiral MOF thin films not only represents an ideal model for studying the enantioselective adsorption, but also will be a valuable approach for development of the chiral thin film exhibiting CPL property.

Abstract
Push-pull molecules represent a unique and fascinating class of organic π-conjugated materials. Herein, we provide a summary of their recent extraordinary design inspired by letters of the alphabet, especially focusing on H-, L-, T-, V-, X-, and Y-shaped molecules. Representative structures from each class were presented and their fundamental properties and prospective applications were discussed. In particular, emphasis is given to molecules recently prepared in our laboratory with T-, X-, and Y-shaped arrangements based on indan-1,3-dione, benzene, pyridine, pyrazine, imidazole, and triphenylamine. These push-pull molecules turned out to be very efficient charge-transfer chromophores with tunable properties suitable for second-order nonlinear optics, two-photon absorption, reversible pH-induced and photochromic switching, photocatalysis, and intercalation.

Abstract
Chiral coordination polymers have attracted much attention due to their special properties and significant applications. In this work, we synthesized two non-centrosymmetric ligands, N,N-bis(4-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)phenyl)-4-(pyridin-4-yl)aniline (DIMPPA) and N-(4-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)phenyl)-4-(pyridin-4-yl)-N-(4-(pyridin-4-yl)phenyl)aniline (MIDPPA), via structural modification of two reported centrosymmetric ligands; after that achiral → chiral induction occurred in the construction of three coordination polymers namely {[Cd(DIMPPA)(5-OH-bdc)](H2O)}n (1), {[Co(DIMPPA)(5-OH-bdc)](H2O)}n (2) and {[Cd2(MIDPPA)2(D-ca)2(H2O)2](H2O)5}n (3), when replacing the reported centrosymmetric ligands with non-centrosymmetric ligands (5-OH-H2bdc = 5-hydroxyisophthalic acid, D-H2ca = D-camphoric acid). Isostructural complexes 1 and 2 exhibit chiral 2D → 3D frameworks with the coexistence of polyrotaxane and parallel polycatenation features. Complex 3 shows two-fold interpenetrating 3D chiral architecture with cds-type topology. The luminescence emissions of both complexes 1 and 3 are mostly assignable to the internal π→π* electron transition in DIMPPA and MIDPPA, respectively. Complex 3 can satisfy the fundamental requirement of second-order nonlinear optical materials.

Abstract
Nets in which different vertices have identical barycentric coordinates (i.e.have collisions) are called unstable. Some such nets have automorphisms that do not correspond to crystallographic symmetries and are called non-crystallographic. Examples are given of nets taken from real crystal structures which have embeddings with crystallographic symmetry in which colliding nodes either are, or are not, topological neighbors (linked) and in which some links coincide. An example is also given of a crystallographic net of exceptional girth (16), which has collisions in barycentric coordinates but which also has embeddings without collisions with the same symmetry. In this last case the collisions are termedunforced.

Abstract
Exceptional nonlinear optical (NLO) switching behavior, including an extremely large contrast (on/off) of ∼35 and high NLO coefficients, is displayed by a solid-state reversible quadratic NLO switch. The favorable results, induced by very fast molecular motion and anionic ordering, provides impetus for the design of a novel second-harmonic-generation switch involving molecular motion.

Abstract
New complexes with six ferrocenyl (Fc) groups connected to Zn(II) or Cd(II) tris(2,2'-bipyridyl) cores are described. A thorough characterisation of their BPh4(-) salts includes two single-crystal X-ray structures, highly unusual for such species with multiple, extended substituents. Intense, visible d(Fe(II))→π* metal-to-ligand charge-transfer (MLCT) bands accompany the π→π* intraligand charge-transfer absorptions in the near UV region. Each complex shows a single, fully reversible Fe(III/II) wave when probed electrochemically. Molecular quadratic nonlinear optical (NLO) responses are determined by using hyper-Rayleigh scattering and Stark spectroscopy. The latter gives static first hyperpolarisabilities β0 reaching as high as approximately 10(-27) esu and generally increasing with π-conjugation extension. Z-scan cubic NLO measurements reveal high two-photon absorption cross-sections σ2 of up to 5400 GM in one case. DFT calculations reproduce the π-conjugation dependence of β0, and TD-DFT predicts three transitions close in energy contributing to the MLCT bands. The lowest energy transition has octupolar character, whereas the other two are degenerate and dipolar in nature.

Abstract
A luminescent triarylboron ligand functionalized with three carboxylic groups has been synthesized and fully characterized. Its use in boron-containing metal-organic frameworks (B-MOFs) has been demonstrated by the synthesis and isolation of a Zn(II)B-MOF compound (B-MOF-1). The crystals of B-MOF-1 belong to the cubic space group F432 with 8-fold interpenetrated networks and ∼21% void space. B-MOF-1 exhibits blue fluorescence and is capable of modest gas sorption of N(2), argon, and CO(2).
