Abstract
Reaching the formidable C-H corners has been one of the top priorities of organic chemists in the recent past. This prompted us to disclose herein a vicinal annulation of 2-iodo benzoates, indoles, and carbazoles with N-embedded 1,6-enynes through 7-/8-membered palladacycles. The relay does not require the assistance of any directing group, leading to multicyclic scaffolds, which are readily diversified to an array of adducts (with new functional tethers and/or three contiguous stereocenters), in which we showcase a rare benzylic mono-oxygenation.

Abstract
Alkyne aminopalladation reactions starting from tosylamides are reported. The emerging vinylic Pd species are converted either in an intramolecular Heck reaction with olefinic units or in an intermolecular Suzuki reaction by using boronic acids exhibiting broad functional group tolerance. Tetra(hetero)substituted tosylated enamines are obtained in a simple one-pot process.

Abstract
A Pd-catalyzed trans-selective carbosilylation reaction of alkynes has been developed. The trans-vinylpalladium species, generated through intramolecular syn-carbopalladation of alkynes and subsequent cis-trans isomerization, were captured by hexamethyldisilane to form multisubstituted vinylsilanes. This reaction provides a useful strategy for the stereoselective synthesis of isoquinolinone-containing exocyclic tetrasubstituted vinylsilanes.

Abstract
We have developed a protocol for efficient synthesis of indolin-2-ones from benzofuranones and aryl amines using iodine as a mediator. A diverse range of benzofuranones and aryl amines undergo cross-dehydrogenative coupling and amidation of 3-aryl benzofuranones for the cascade reaction to generate products in 24-93% yields. This reaction can be easily scaled-up to give an indolin-2-one in a gram scale. Further chemical manipulation of the products enabled useful transformations of the phenol ring including alkylation, arylation, etc.

Total synthesis of cyclopiamide A was accomplished using a palladium-catalyzed domino cyclization. Three rings in the tetracyclic skeleton of cyclopiamide A were constructed in a one-step domino reaction incorporating double carbopalladation and C-H activation.

Abstract
A simple protocol for the synthesis of triarylmethane derivatives with three different (hetero)aryl groups by decarbonylation of 3,3-diaryl benzofuranones, which can easily be prepared via arylation of benzofuranones, was developed. The reaction proceeds on heating in dimethylformamide (DMF) in the presence of CH3ONa and water to generate the products in good to excellent yields. This reaction can be easily scaled up to give a triarylmethane in a gram scale. Further chemical manipulation of the products enabled useful transformations of the phenol ring, including reduction, arylation, cyclization, etc.

Abstract
A palladium-catalyzed four-component carbonylative coupling reaction involving aryl halides, internal alkynes, arylboronic acids, and CO has been developed for the first time. All-carbon substituted α-unsaturated ketones and benzofulvenes can be selectively obtained in a highly regio- and stereocontrolled manner. Using Cu(TFA)2 as the additive, a series of tetrasubstituted α-unsaturated ketones were prepared in moderate to high yields. Using more acidic Lewis acid Cu(OTf)2 as the additive, multisubstituted benzofluvenes were synthesized in moderate yields. This efficient methodology involved the formation of three new C-C bonds, and provided a divergent method for the quick construction of multisubstituted α-unsaturated ketones and benzofulvenes from easily available starting materials.

Abstract
An intramolecular cascade reaction consisting of a formal anti-carbopalladation terminated by the ring-opening of a cyclopropanol unit is presented. The products, which involve tetrasubstituted alkene units embedded in an oligocyclic ring system, are generated in moderate to excellent yield. The opening of the cyclopropanol unit leads to a keto group in the γ-position to the emerging double bond.

Abstract
An intramolecular Pd-catalyzed formal anti-carboalkoxylation reaction is presented that provides access to tetrasubstituted enol ethers. The key to success is a cascade consisting of a formal anti-carbopalladation of a carbon-carbon triple bond followed by a nucleophilic attack of a hydroxy group at the emerging vinyl organopalladium species. The desired transformation proceeded smoothly with primary, secondary, and tertiary alcohols, and even with phenols. Depending on the substitution pattern of the enol ethers, a further Tsuji-Trost-type step may occur resulting in oligocyclic ketals.

Abstract
An intramolecular Pd-catalyzed cascade reaction is presented that consists of a formal anti-carbopalladation of a C-C triple bond followed by C-H activation. As a result, oligocyclic ring systems with an embedded tetrasubstituted double bond are formed. The key to success in affording the trans geometry of the emerging double bond are alkyne units with residues that must not undergo β-hydride elimination (e.g., t-butyl or silyl groups). Silyl groups proved to be a perfect handle to further convert the tetrasubstituted alkenes. The evaluation of kinetic data with a deuterium-labeled compound and X-ray analyses of trapped intermediates provided additional insight into the catalytic cycle.

Abstract
A palladium-catalyzed 4-fold domino reaction consisting of two carbopalladation reactions and two C-H activation reactions, followed by the introduction of an acrylate moiety, led to the tetra-substituted helical alkene A2, using the dialkyne A3 as a substrate. The alkene was copolymerized with butyl acrylate by using the reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer polymerization (RAFT) to give the desired polymeric switch A1.

The enantiomeric
homogeneity of light-driven molecular motors based
on overcrowded alkenes is crucial in their application as either unidirectional
rotors or as chiral multistate switches. It was challenging to obtain
these compounds as single enantiomers via the established synthetic
procedures due to loss of optical purity in the key step, i.e., the
Barton–Kellogg olefination reaction. Searching for strategies
to avoid racemization, a new class of light-driven molecular motors
was designed, synthesized, and studied. The stereochemical integrity
was fully preserved throughout the synthesis, and on the basis of
photochemical and kinetic studies using UV/vis, CD, and 1H NMR spectroscopy, it was established that they still function properly
as unidirectional molecular motors.

Abstract
Alkynes are one of the most versatile functional groups as synthetic handles. They allow for a direct access to partially or fully substituted alkenes through difunctionalization reactions. A prominently utilized transformation for these sequences is the carbopalladation of alkynes, which can be followed by various termination steps such as aromatizations, dearomatizations, cross-coupling reactions, or pericyclic processes, amongst others. This Minireview provides an overview of the recent literature published in the field of carbopalladation chemistry, both with a focus on methodology as well as its application in the syntheses of complex molecular scaffolds, natural products, and functional molecules.
