Abstract
Our study presents a novel enantioselective route for the synthesis of 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinolines via a chiral phosphoric acid-catalyzed three-component Povarov reaction, employing phenolic dienes as dienophiles. This approach produces a diverse array of 2,3,4-trisubstituted tetrahydroquinolines, each featuring a styryl group at position 4, in high yields with excellent regio-, diastereo-, and enantioselectivities (>95:5 dr and up to >99% ee).

Abstract
A facile chiral phosphoric-acid catalyzed asymmetric inverse-electron-demand aza-Diels-Alder reaction of 1,3-diazadienes with 3-vinylindoles was established. By using this mild and practical protocol, a broad range of benzothiazolopyrimidines with three contiguous stereogenic centers were prepared in good yields and excellent diastereo- and enantio-selectivities (43 examples, up to 83% yield, >99% ee and all >20 : 1 dr). A plausible concerted reaction pathway enabled by the dual hydrogen-bonding effect was proposed to account for the observed excellent enantioselectivity and specific trans-trans diastereoselectivity.

Abstract
Chiral phosphoric acid based organocatalysis and visible-light photocatalysis have both emerged as promising technologies for the sustainable production of fine chemicals. In this context, we have envisioned the design and the synthesis of a new class of chimeric catalytic entities that would feature both catalytic capabilities. Given their multitask nature, such catalysts would be particularly attractive for the development of new catalytic transformations, tandem processes in particular. Toward this goal, several BINOL-based chiral phosphoric acid backbones presenting one or two visible-light-sensitive thioxanthone moieties have been prepared and studied. The utility of these new photoactive chiral organocatalysts is then demonstrated in the enantioselective tandem three-component electrophilic amination of enecarbamates. Of note, the C1-symmetric organo/photocatalyst has shown a better catalytic activity than those presenting a C2 symmetry.

Abstract
An efficient enantioselective construction of tetrahydronaphthalene-1,4-diones as well as dihydronaphthalene-1,4-diols by a chiral phosphoric acid catalyzed quinone Diels-Alder reaction with dienecarbamates is reported. The nature of the protecting group on the diene is key to the success of achieving high enantioselectivity. The divergent "redox" selectivity is controlled by using an adequate amount of quinones. Reversible redox switching without erosion of enantioselectivity was possible from individual redox isomers.

Abstract
Enantioselective synthesis of α-amino esters have been achieved through the Petasis borono-Mannich multicomponent reaction using ( R)-BINOL-derived catalysts with stable heteroaryl and alkenyl trifluoroborate salts under mild conditions. The reaction provides direct access to optically active α-amino esters with moderate to good yields and enantioselectivities.

Abstract
Unprecedented α-imino N-acyl pyrazoles were efficiently and selectively prepared through the 1,5,7-triazabicyclo[4.4.0]dec-5-ene (TBD)-catalyzed reaction of nitrosoarenes with N-acyl pyrazoles via an N-nitroso aldol reaction/dehydration sequence. The α-imino acyl pyrazoles were demonstrated to be new versatile intermediates for practical one-pot syntheses of α-imino amides, dipeptide precursors, esters, and β-amino alcohols. The synthetic method competes with known protocols in terms of ready availability of the reagents and catalyst, mild and catalytic reaction conditions, gram-scale applicability, and scope of the α-imino acid derivatives achievable.

Abstract
Heterogeneous Brønsted acid catalysts featuring high porosity, crystallinity, and stability have been of great interest for both fundamental studies and practical applications, but synthetically, they still face a formidable challenge. Here, we illustrated a ligand design strategy for directly installing chiral phosphoric acid catalysts into highly stable Zr-MOFs by sterically protecting them from coordinating with metal ions. A pair of chiral porous Zr(IV)-MOFs with the framework formula [Zr6O4(OH)8(H2O)4(L)2] were prepared from enantiopure 4,4',6,6'-tetra(benzoate) and -tetra(2-naphthoate) ligands of 1,1'-spirobiindane-7,7'-phosphoric acid. They share the same topological structure but differ in channel sizes, and both of them demonstrate excellent tolerance toward water, acid and base. Significantly enhanced Brønsted acidity was observed for the phosphoric acids that are uniformly distributed within the frameworks in comparison with the nonimmobilized acids. This not only facilitates the catalysis of asymmetric two-component tandem acetalization, Friedel-Crafts, and iso-Pictet-Spengler reactions but also promotes the catalysis of asymmetric three-component tandem deacetalization-acetalization and Friedel-Crafts reactions benefiting from the synergy with exposed Lewis acidic Zr(IV) sites. The enantioselectivities are comparable or favorable compared to those obtained from the corresponding homogeneous systems. The features of high reactivity, selectivity, stability, and recyclability for Zr(IV)-MOFs make them hold promise as a new type of heterogeneous acid catalyst for the eco-friendly synthesis of fine chemicals.

Abstract
A highly efficient catalytic enantioselective [4+2] cycloaddition was developed between 2-benzothiazolimines and enecarbamates. A wide range of benzothiazolopyrimidines bearing three contiguous stereogenic centers was obtained in high to excellent yields and with excellent diastereo- and enantioselectivities (d.r. > 98 : 2 and up to >99% ee). Furthermore, this chiral phosphoric acid-catalyzed strategy was scalable and enabled access to a new class of optically pure Lewis base isothiourea derivatives.

Abstract
Novel click reactions are of continued interest in many scientific research areas and applications. Herein, we report a novel practical, catalyst-free, azo-Diels-Alder reaction between dienecarbamates and azodicarboxylates exhibiting a remarkable functional group tolerance. The availability of starting materials, mild reaction conditions, chemoselectivity and scalability make this cycloaddition a viable supplement to the other reactions in "click" chemistry.

Abstract
The search for porous materials with strong Brønsted acid sites for challenging reactions has long been of significant interest, but it remains a formidable synthetic challenge. Here we demonstrate a cage extension strategy to construct chiral permanent porous hydrogen-bonded frameworks with strong Brønsted acid groups for heterogeneous asymmetric catalysis. We report the synthesis of two octahedral coordination cages using enantiopure 4,4’,6,6’-tetra(benzoate) ligand of 1,1’-spirobiindane-7,7’-phosphoric acid and Ni4/Co4-p-tert-butylsulfonylcalix[4]arene clusters. Intercage hydrogen-bonds and hydrophobic interactions between tert-butyl groups direct the hierarchical assembly of the cages into a permanent porous material. The chiral phosphoric acid-containing frameworks can be high efficient and recyclable heterogeneous Brønsted acid catalysts for asymmetric [3+2] coupling of indoles with quinone monoimine and Friedel-Crafts alkylations of indole with aryl aldimines. The afforded enantioselectivities (up to 99.9% ee) surpass those of the homogeneous counterparts and compare favorably with those of the most enantioselective homogeneous phosphoric acid catalysts reported to date. Abstract
In this review, the recent developments in catalytic asymmetric inverse-electron-demand hetero-Diels-Alder reaction, which is recognized as one of the most powerful routes to construct highly functionalized and enantioenriched six-membered heterocycles, are described. The article is organized on the basis of different kinds of electron-deficient heterodienes, including α,β-unsaturated ketones/aldehydes, o-benzoquinones, α,β-unsaturated imines, N-aryl imines, o-benzoqinone imides, and other aza-olefins.
