Abstract
The [1,2]-Brook rearrangement stands as a potent technique for constructing complex molecules. In this study, we showcase its power in the dearomatization of aromatic N-heterocycles. Through a concise four-step process that integrates lithiation, nucleophilic addition, Brook rearrangement and dearomatization reaction, we demonstrate a versatile strategy for generating diverse non-aromatic N-heterocycles which exhibit ambident reactivities. Various acyl silanes, halo-pyridines, and quinolines have been explored within this context. The synthetic utility of this methodology is demonstrated through the construction of complex architectures.

Abstract
[1,2]-Phospha-Brook rearrangement entails the generation of α-oxygenated carbanions via the umpolung process. Recently, these anionic species have been widely utilized for several C-C bond forming strategies, providing various useful frameworks that are difficult to access through conventional approaches. However, the application of this powerful methodology in the development of chiral strategies is still at the nascent stage due to challenges involved in controlling chemoselectivity and enantioselectivity. This synopsis provides a detailed summary of diastereo- and/or enantioselective chemical transformations using [1,2]-phospha-Brook rearrangement.

Abstract
A novel double Friedel-Crafts reaction of acylsilanes in water is described. This strategy enables synthesis of bis(indolyl)methane derivatives with 1-hydroxy or 1-silyl substituents in moderate to high yield. Compared to the 1-silyl-bis(indolyl)methane derivatives from indole substrate, 1-hydroxy-bis(indolyl)methane derivatives were synthesized from the 5-hydroxyindole, and the hydrogen bonds in the 5-hydroxyindole play a crucial role in regulating the reaction selectivity.

Abstract
A variety of functionalized triarylmethane and 1,1-diarylalkane derivatives were prepared via a transition-metal-free, one-pot and two-step procedure, involving the reaction of various benzal diacetates with organozinc reagents. A sequential cross-coupling is enabled by changing the solvent from THF to toluene, and a two-step SN 1-type mechanism was proposed and evidenced by experimental studies. The synthetic utility of the method is further demonstrated by the synthesis of several biologically relevant molecules, such as an anti-tuberculosis agent, an anti-breast cancer agent, a precursor of a sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) receptor modulator, and a FLAP inhibitor.

Abstract
AbstractOrganometallic compounds have become increasingly important in organic synthesis because of their high chemoselectivity and excellent reactivity. Recently, a variety of organometallic reagents were found to facilitate transition-metal-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions and nucleophilic addition reactions. Here, we have summarized the latest progress in cross-coupling reactions and in nucleophilic addition reactions with functionalized organometallic reagents present to illustrate their application value. Due to the tremendous contribution made by the Knochel group towards the development of novel organometallic reagents, this review draws extensively from their work in this area in recent years.Introduction1 Transition-Metal-Catalyzed Cross Couplings Involving Organozinc Reagents2 Transition-Metal-Catalyzed Cross Couplings Involving Organomagnesium Reagents3 Transition-Metal-Free Cross Couplings Involving Zn and Mg Organometallic Reagents4 Nucleophilic Additions Involving Zn and Mg Organometallic Reagents5 Cross-Coupling Reactions or Nucleophilic Additions Involving Mn, Al-, La-, Li-, Sm- and In-Organometallics6 Conclusion

Abstract
The distant functionalization of ω-ene cyclopropanols is induced by a Pd-catalyzed Heck reaction triggering a "metal-walk" and selective ring-opening of the three-membered ring. This approach provides a new class of acyclic aldehydes possessing concomitantly a stereodefined double bond and a quaternary carbon stereocenter α to the carbonyl group.

Abstract
The regio- and diastereoselective zirconocene-catalyzed carbomagnesiation of cyclobutenes is herein reported to afford configurationally stable cyclobutylmagnesium species that could subsequently react with a large variety of electrophiles to give polysubstituted cyclobutane species as a single diastereoisomer.
