Abstract
We expand upon the synthetic utility of anionic rhenium complex Na[(BDI)ReCp] (1, BDI = N,N'-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)-3,5-dimethyl-β-diketiminate) to generate several rhenium-phosphorus complexes. Complex 1 reacts in a metathetical manner with chlorophosphines Ph2PCl, MeNHP-Cl, and OHP-Cl to generate XL-type phosphido complexes 2, 3, and 4, respectively (MeNHP-Cl = 2-chloro-1,3-dimethyl-1,3,2-diazaphospholidine; OHP-Cl = 2-chloro-1,3,2-dioxaphospholane). Crystallographic and computational investigations of phosphido triad 2, 3, and 4 reveal that increasing the electronegativity of the phosphorus substituent (C < N < O) results in a shortening and strengthening of the rhenium-phosphorus bond. Complex 1 reacts with iminophosphane Mes*NPCl (Mes* = 2,4,6-tritert-butylphenyl) to generate linear iminophosphanyl complex 5. In the presence of a suitable halide abstraction reagent, 1 reacts with the dichlorophosphine iPr2NPCl2 to afford cationic phosphinidene complex 6+. Complex 6+ may be reduced by one electron to form 6•, a rare example of a stable, paramagnetic phosphinidene complex. Spectroscopic and structural investigations, as well as computational analyses, are employed to elucidate the influence of the phosphorus substituent on the nature of the rhenium-phosphorus bond in 2 through 6. Furthermore, we examine several common analogies employed to understand metal phosphido, phosphinidene, and iminophosphanyl complexes.

Abstract
2-Benzhydryl-4-methyl-6-(1,1'-diphenyl-2-phenyl-ethyl)aniline was prepared by a three-step process. 2,6-Bis(benzhydryl)-4-methyl-aniline was protected by Schiff coupling, then benzylated and finally dealkylated by using hydrochloric acid and methanol. The resulting compound exhibits one of the highest buried volumes around the nitrogen atom of anilines prepared so far, but it reacts with phosphorus trichloride and triethylamine to give a monomeric chloro(imino)phosphine.

Abstract
The coordination chemistry and stability of aminoborylene ligands bearing different N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) stabilizing groups has been investigated with Group VI and VIII metals. NHC-aminoborylene complexes have been accessed via reduction of NHC-dihaloaminoborane adducts with Na2[M(CO) x] species (M = Fe, Ru, Cr, W). Imidazol-2-ylidene-stabilized aminoborylene ligands were found to afford thermally robust metal-borylene complexes, which are inert to oxidation, hydrolysis, and insertion of unsaturated substrates. Such ligands have additionally been demonstrated to be significantly more electron releasing than NHCs and other carbon-based ligands by infrared spectroscopy, and can be regarded as unique examples of highly nucleophilic borylene ligands isolobal to classical NHCs. In contrast, cyclic alkylaminocarbene (CAAC)-bound dihaloaminoboranes were found to be reduced by one or two electrons upon reaction with Na2[M(CO) x] species to form either a stable borane-centered radical, or the free CAAC-aminoborylene complex, which further reacts to form a carbonyl-stabilized aminoborylene. Borylene-to-CO migration was also observed upon reaction of a ruthenium imidazol-2-ylidene aminoborylene complex with B(C6F5)3, where the product borylene remains trapped by the Ru center.
