Abstract
Aminoboronic acids represent a class of significant compounds that have attracted significant attention in the fields of drug discovery and organic synthesis. Despite notable progress in their synthesis, the efficient construction of chiral β-aminoboronic acids with alkyl side chains remains a challenging endeavor. Here, we introduce an unprecedented nickel-catalyzed asymmetric borylalkylation of enamides, employing a simple chiral diamine ligand, readily available B2pin2, and alkyl halides as coupling partners. This reaction serves as an efficient platform for assembling a diverse range of β-aminoboronic acid derivatives with flexible alkyl side chains, displaying exceptional regio-, stereo-, and enantioselectivities. Moreover, this transformation exhibits a broad substrate scope and remarkable tolerance toward various functional groups. Theoretical calculations demonstrate that the benzyl group on the ligand is the key to the high enantiocontrol in this transformation. Additionally, we exemplify the practical application of this strategy through the concise synthesis of complex bioactive molecules.

Abstract
Geminal bis(boronates) are versatile synthetic building blocks in organic chemistry. The fact that they predominantly serve as nucleophiles in the previous reports, however, has restrained their synthetic potential. Herein we disclose the ambiphilic reactivity of α-halogenated geminal bis(boronates), of which the first catalytic utilization was accomplished by merging a formal Heck cross-coupling with a highly diastereoselective allylboration of aldehydes or imines, providing a new avenue for rapid assembly of polyfunctionalized boron-containing compounds. We demonstrated that this cascade reaction is highly efficient and compatible with various functional groups, and a wide range of heterocycles. In contrast to a classical Pd(0/II) scenario, mechanistic experiments and DFT calculations have provided strong evidence for a catalytic cycle involving Pd(I)/diboryl carbon radical intermediates.

Abstract
The wide applications of alpha-boryl carbanions in selective coupling with organohalides, imines/carbonyls and conjugated unsaturated substrates has become an interesting tool for organic synthesis. Strategically, the inclusion of heteroatoms, such as Si, S, N, F, Cl, Br and I in the alpha position opens a new venue towards multifunctionalities in molecular design. Here, a conceptual and practical view on powerful carbanions, containing α-silicoboron, α-thioboron, α-haloboron and α-aminoboron is given, as well as a prespective on their efficient application for selective electrophilic trapping.

Abstract
General methods for the preparation of geminal bis(boronates) are of great interest due to their widespread applications in organic synthesis. While the terminal gem-diboron compounds are readily accessible, the construction of the sterically encumbered, internal analogues has remained a prominent challenge. Herein, we report a formal umpolung strategy to access these valuable building blocks. The readily available 1,1-diborylalkanes were first converted into the corresponding α-halogenated derivatives, which then serve as electrophilic components, undergoing a formal substitution with a diverse array of nucleophiles to form a series of C-C, C-O, C-S, and C-N bonds. This protocol features good tolerance to steric hindrance and a wide variety of functional groups and heterocycles. Notably, this strategy can also be extended to the synthesis of diaryl and terminal gem-diboron compounds, therefore providing a general approach to various types of geminal bis(boronates).

Abstract
In this study, we described a two-step process involving an efficient visible-light-induced decarboxylative borylation of α- and β-amino redox-active esters with bis(catecholato)diboron, followed by transamination with 1,8-diaminonapthalene (DANH2). A series of boronamides were obtained in moderate to excellent yields in this one-pot procedure. The photochemical process proved to be very efficient even when conducted under flow conditions with shorter reaction durations and scalable synthesis of DAN boronates.

Abstract
The enantioselective synthesis of bis-homoallylic alcohols through nickel-catalyzed three-component fragment couplings of simple aldehydes, dienes, and aryl organoborons is disclosed. The reactions proceed through diene dicarbofunctionalization that concurrently forms two C-C bonds and two stereogenic centers. The transformations are promoted by a 5.0 mol % loading of a readily accessible chiral phosphine-nickel complex and afford products with high stereoselectivity.

Abstract
Despite the frequent occurrence of γ-branched amines in bioactive molecules, the direct catalytic asymmetric synthesis of this structural motif containing a remote stereocenter remains an important synthetic challenge. Here, we report an amide-directed, rhodium-catalyzed highly diastereo- and enantioselective hydroboration of unactivated internal alkenes. This method provided facile access to enantioenriched amines containing β,γ-vicinal stereocenters. The application of this strategy to the synthesis of bioactive molecules was demonstrated. Computational studies indicated that migratory insertion of the alkene into rhodium hydride controls the enantioselectivity.

Abstract
Sulfenic acid anions represent an emerging nucleophile for the preparation of sulfoxides. Their S-functionalization chemistry can often be influenced by a nearby group that interacts with the component atoms of the sulfenate through non-bonding interactions. This study uses DFT methods to assess the importance of proximal boron-containing functional groups to direct S-alkylation chemistry of selected sulfenate anions. Several structural variations were modelled at the B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) level, with the boron species positioned 3 to 5 carbons away from the alkylation site. Transition state free energies of S-alkylation transition states were located with and without sulfenate oxygen precomplexing to the nearby boron atom. The outcomes suggest that an ortho-substituted boronate ester on benzyl bromide can direct and accelerate an alkylation reaction principally due to a reduction of the entropic barrier. It was also determined that an intermolecular precomplex imparts too much stabilization to the sulfenate, thereby reducing its reactivity. The modelling suggests a possible aryl migration of the boronate/sulfenate complex is not competitive with S-alkylation.

Abstract
We here describe the first Cu-catalysed, diastereoselective 1,2-addition of 1,1-diborylmethane to chiral ketimines for the synthesis of quaternary stereocenters and spiro compounds. The method provides easy access to a range of chiral, highly functionalized compounds, namely oxindole-based β,β'-disubstituted β-amino boronates, boron-containing peptidomimetics and six-, seven-membered spirocyclic hemiboronic esters. Such unprecedented compounds are mostly obtained in high yields and easily isolated as single diastereoisomers, paving the way to a more intense exploitation of boron-containing compounds in diversity-oriented chemistry and drug-discovery programs. Concerning stereochemistry, the application of Ellman's auxiliary strategy allows in principle to access both steric series of target compounds.

Abstract
Recent years have witnessed an increase in the popularity of α-boryl organometallic reagents as versatile nucleophiles in asymmetric synthesis. These compounds have been adopted in chemo- and stereoselective coupling reactions with a number of different electrophiles. The resulting enantioenriched boronic esters can be applied in stereospecific carbon-carbon or carbon-heteroatom bond construction reactions, enabling a two-step strategy for the construction of complex structures with high efficiency and functional group compatibility. Due to these reasons, tremendous effort has been devoted to the preparation of enantiomerically enriched α-boryl organometallic reagents and to the development of stereoselective reactions of related racemic or prochiral materials. In this review, we describe the enantio- or diastereoselective reactions that involve α-boryl organometallic reagents as starting materials or products and we showcase their synthetic utility.

Abstract
A transition-metal-free method for the alkylation of gem-diborylalkanes with α,β-unsaturated ketones has been developed. It is demonstrated that the α-boryl radicals can be generated efficiently from gem-diborylalkanes with the aid of catechol and oxidants. The α-boryl radicals formed through such process can be engaged in conjugate addition reaction with α,β-unsaturated ketones. This transformation is a straightforward method for the synthesis of γ-borylketones.

Abstract
Chiral β-aminoalkylboronates generate growing interest as versatile synthetic building blocks to access β-aminoalcohols and other useful compounds, and also as bioisosteres of β-amino acids in drug discovery. In this study, the lack of methodology to access both syn and anti diastereomers of optically enriched, acyclic α,β-disubstituted β-aminoalkylboronates is addressed with the development of a divergent, diastereoselective strategy for the monoprotodeboration of β-amino gem-bis(boronate) precursors. To this end, new reaction conditions were successfully optimized to provide the elusive anti diastereomer by inverting a sequence of desulfinylation and protodeboronation. The desired syn or anti isomers are isolated independently in good yields and excellent diastereoselectivity (up to >20:1 dr) for a wide scope of substituents. The diastereotopic group selectivity of the new conditions yielding the anti isomer is rationalized by invoking a reactive rotamer featuring two ammonium-boronate hydrogen bonds, which enables phosphate coordination to boron with a concomitant, stereoretentive protonation of the least sterically hindered C-B bond. The accessibility and utility of both diastereomers of these α,β-disubstituted β-aminoalkylboronates is exemplified with the functionalization of the amino group, stereospecific oxidation to β-amino alcohols and C-C bond transformations of the secondary alkylboronate, and the preparation of free boronic acids and hemiboronic heterocycles.

Abstract
Novel and mild synthesis of MIDA acylboronates including a novel class of acylborons and first chemoselective oxidation of geminal diborylalkanes.
Acylboronates represent a very intriguing and rare class of organoboronates. Synthesis of these compounds from readily available substrates under mild conditions and access to novel classes of acylborons has been challenging. We report a novel and concise route to various MIDA acylboronates from terminal alkynes/alkenes or vinyl boronic esters using unsymmetrical geminal diborylalkanes as key intermediates. The high modularity and mild conditions of this strategy allowed a facile access to acylboronates possessing aliphatic, aromatic as well as the rarer heteroaromatic, alkynyl and α,β-unsaturated scaffolds. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of chemoselective oxidation of geminal diborons as well as synthesis of an α,β-unsaturated acylboronate.
