Abstract
A ruthenium-catalyzed C-H alkylation/cyclization sequence is presented to prepare silyl indenes with atom and step-economy. This domino reaction is triggered by acyl silane-directed C-H activation, and an aldehyde controlled the following enol cyclization/condensation other than β-H elimination. The protocol tolerates a broad substitution pattern, and the further synthetic elaboration of silyl indenes allows access to a diverse range of interesting indene and indanone derivatives.

Abstract
The research presented herein explores a cobalt-based catalytic system, distinctively featuring a cooperative boron-centric element within its intricate ligand architecture. This system is strategically engineered to enable the integration of a singular carbon atom into aldehydes, a process culminating in the production of (Z)-silyl enol ethers. Beyond offering an efficient one-pot synthesis route, this method adeptly overcomes challenges inherent to conventional techniques, such as the need for large amounts of additives, restrictive functional group tolerance, and extreme reaction temperatures. Initial mechanistic studies suggest the potential role of a cobalt-carbene complex as a catalytically significant species and underscore the importance of the borane segment. Collectively, these observations highlight the potential of this system in advancing complex bond activation pursuits.

Abstract
A nucleophilic allylation of acylsilanes in water was developed, generating versatile functionalized tertiary α-silyl alcohols in high yields. With the assistance of hydrogen bonding, a reaction model of less reactive acylsilane was achieved. Unlike the conventional strategy, transition metals and an additional Lewis acid catalyst were not required, and rate acceleration was observed in water.

Abstract
In the presence of boron trifluoride, conjugate addition of organocuprates to α-substituted α,β-unsaturated N-tert-butanesulfinyl ketimines provides facile access to acyclic β,β-disubstituted enesulfinamides with high ratios of geometric isomers. Diverse and challenging to synthesize, multisubstituted aza-enolates bearing two electronically and sterically similar β-substituents, which are important precursors for asymmetric construction of the less accessible acyclic quaternary or tetrasubstituted stereocenters at the α-position of ketimines, can be efficiently prepared in good yields with high stereocontrol.

Abstract
A novel double Friedel-Crafts reaction of acylsilanes in water is described. This strategy enables synthesis of bis(indolyl)methane derivatives with 1-hydroxy or 1-silyl substituents in moderate to high yield. Compared to the 1-silyl-bis(indolyl)methane derivatives from indole substrate, 1-hydroxy-bis(indolyl)methane derivatives were synthesized from the 5-hydroxyindole, and the hydrogen bonds in the 5-hydroxyindole play a crucial role in regulating the reaction selectivity.

Abstract
A Mannich reaction of deprotonated, highly enantioenriched α,α-disubstituted N-tert-butanesulfinyl ketimines with isatin-derived ketimines was developed to prepare 3-amino-3-substituted oxindoles bearing an acyclic quaternary stereogenic carbon substituted with two sterically similar groups. The excellent stereocontrol of the deprotonation enabled the formation of metalloenamine intermediates with stereodefined geometry, while the precise facial selectivity of the C-C bond formation allowed the construction of contiguous quaternary and tetrasubstituted stereocenters with excellent stereoselectivity.

Abstract
α-Tertiary hydroxyimines were stereoselectively synthesized from enantioenriched N-tert-butanesulfinyl ketimines using potassium tert-butoxide, molecular oxygen, and trimethyl phosphite. The stereoselective hydroxylation of acyclic ketimines bearing two sterically similar α-substituents was achieved by controlling the geometry of the metalloenamine intermediates and the facial selectivity of hydroxylation. The synthetic utility of the resulting α-tertiary hydroxyimines was demonstrated through the successful diastereoselective synthesis of highly substituted β-amino alcohols.

Abstract
An efficient rhodium-catalyzed β-dehydroborylation of aldehyde-derived silyl enol ethers (SEEs) with bis(pinacolato)diboron (B2pin2) is disclosed. The borylation reactions proceeded well with alkyl- and aryl-substituted SEEs, affording a wide array of valuable functionalized β-boryl silyl enolates with high efficiency and excellent stereoselectivity. Moreover, the borylated products, through versatile carbon-boron bond transformations, were readily converted into diverse synthetically useful molecules, including α-hydroxy ketones, functionalized SEEs, and gem-difunctionalized aldehydes.

Abstract
We describe here a Ni-catalyzed Negishi coupling reaction to prepare 1,2-dialkyl enol ethers in a stereoconvergent fashion. This method employs readily available and bench-stable α-oxy-vinylsulfones as electrophiles. The C-sulfone bond in the α-oxy-vinylsulfone motif is cleaved chemoselectively in these reactions. The mild conditions are tolerant of a variety of functional groups on both partners, thus representing a general strategy for enol ether synthesis. This unique reactivity of α-oxy-vinylsulfones indicates their further application as electrophilic partners in cross-coupling reactions.

Abstract
![]()
We report a remote
functionalization strategy, which allows the Z-selective
synthesis of silyl enol ethers of (hetero)aromatic
and aliphatic ketones via Ni-catalyzed chain walking from a distant
olefin site. The positional selectivity is controlled by the directionality
of the chain walk and is independent of thermodynamic preferences
of the resulting silyl enol ether. Our mechanistic data indicate that
a Ni(I) dimer is formed under these conditions, which serves
as a catalyst resting state and, upon reaction with an alkyl bromide,
is converted to [Ni(II)-H] as an active chain-walking/functionalization
catalyst, ultimately generating a stabilized η3-bound
Ni(II) enolate as the key selectivity-controlling intermediate.

Abstract
Little-explored hydrosilylation of ketenes promoted by main-group catalysts is reported. The boron Lewis acid tris(pentafluorophenyl)borane accelerates the slow uncatalyzed reaction of ketenes and hydrosilanes, thereby providing a convenient access to the new class of β,β-di- and β-monoaryl-substituted aldehyde-derived silyl enol ethers. Yields are moderate to high, and Z configuration is preferred. The corresponding silyl bis-enol ethers are also available when using dihydrosilanes. The related trityl-cation-initiated hydrosilylation involving self-regeneration of silylium ions is far less effective.

Abstract
Facile and modular access to stereodefined disubstituted aldehyde-derived silyl enol ethers allowed their successful application in a stereoselective aldol reaction affording the products with excellent yields and diastereomeric ratios. The counter-intuitive stereochemical behavior of this Mukaiyama-aldol reaction is accounted for by a non-classical open transition state.

Abstract
A novel hydrogen-bond-assisted sequential reaction of silyl glyoxylates is described. This method provides an efficient strategy for the synthesis of silyl enol ethers with high selectivity. In these transformations, hydrogen bonds from 2-nitroethanol and its derivatives are critical to the stereochemical outcome. Both E- and Z-isomers are achieved via Henry reaction/Brook rearrangement/elimination and Henry reaction/Brook rearrangement/retro-Henry reaction/elimination processes, respectively (up to 99:1 Z-selectivity, and 9.2:1 E-selectivity).

Abstract
An in situ generated cationic Ir-catalyst isomerizes simple allylic silyl ethers into valuable, fully substituted aldehyde-derived silyl enol ethers. Importantly, by judicious choice of substrate, either of the two possible stereoisomers of a given enolate derivative is accessible with complete stereoselectivity. One-pot isomerization-aldol and isomerization-allylation processes illustrate the synthetic utility of this method.

Abstract
A ruthenium-catalyzed [1,2]-Brook rearrangement involved domino sequence is presented to prepare highly functionalized silyloxy indenes with atomic- and step-economy. This domino reaction is triggered by acylsilane-directed C-H activation, and the aldehyde controlled the subsequent enol cyclization/Brook Rearrangement other than β-H elimination. The protocol tolerates a broad substitution pattern, and the further synthetic elaboration of silyloxy indenes allows access to a diverse range of interesting indene and indanone derivatives.

Abstract
A novel Lewis acid-catalyzed cycloisomerization of alkylidenecyclopropane acylsilanes is disclosed. The readily available starting materials participate in tandem Prins addition/ring expansion/1,2-silyl shift to grant access to bicyclo[4.2.0]octanes and bicyclo[3.2.0]heptanes, which are common motifs in terpenoid natural products. Notably, the transformation relies on the ability of acylsilanes to act sequentially as acceptors and donors on the same carbon atom. A novel Lewis acid-catalyzed cycloisomerization of alkylidenecyclopropane acylsilanes is disclosed that involves tandem Prins addition/ring expansion/1,2-silyl shift to grant access to bicyclo[4.2.0]octanes and bicyclo[3.2.0]heptanes.![]()
