Abstract
Stereoconvergent reactions enable the transformation of mixed stereoisomers into well-defined, chiral products─a crucial strategy for handling Z/E-mixed olefins, which are common but challenging substrates in organic synthesis. Herein, we report a stereoconvergent and highly enantioselective method for synthesizing Z-homoallylic alcohols via the nickel-catalyzed reductive coupling of Z/E-mixed 1,3-dienes with aldehydes. This process is enabled by an N-heterocyclic carbene ligand characterized by C2-symmetric backbone chirality and bulky 2,6-diisopropyl N-aryl substituents. Our method achieves excellent stereocontrol over both enantioselectivity and Z-selectivity in a single step, producing chiral Z-homoallylic alcohols that are valuable in natural products and pharmaceuticals.

Abstract
We report herein a Cu-catalyzed regio-, diastereo- and enantioselective acylboration of 1,3-butadienylboronate with acyl fluorides. Under the developed conditions, the reactions provide (Z)-β,γ-unsaturated ketones bearing an α-tertiary stereocenter with high Z-selectivity and excellent enantioselectivities. While direct access to highly enantioenriched E-isomers was not successful, we showed that such molecules can be synthesized with excellent E-selectivity and optical purities via Pd-catalyzed alkene isomerization from the corresponding Z-isomers. The orthogonal chemical reactivities of the functional groups embedded in the ketone products allow for diverse chemoselective transformations, which provides a valuable platform for further derivatization.

Abstract
Cu-catalyzed highly stereoselective and enantiodivergent syntheses of (Z)- or (E)-β,γ-unsaturated ketones from 1,3-butadienyl silanes are developed. The nature of the silyl group of the dienes has a significant impact on the stereo- and enantioselectivity of the reactions. Under the developed catalytic systems, the reactions of acyl fluorides with phenyldiemthylsilyl-substituted 1,3-diene gave (Z)-β,γ-unsaturated ketones bearing an α-tertiary stereogenic center with excellent enantioselectivities and high Z-selectivities, where the reactions with triisopropylsilyl-substituted 1,3-butadiene formed (E)-β,γ-unsaturated ketones with high optical purities and excellent E-selectivities. The products generated from the reactions contain three functional groups with orthogonal chemical reactivities, which can undergo a variety of transformations to afford synthetically valuable intermediates.

Abstract
A highly enantio- and diastereoselective domino thia-Michael/aldol reaction applying 5H-dibenzo[a,c][7]annulen-5-one as a Michael acceptor, catalyzed by a chiral phosphoric acid (CPA), has been developed. The bridged biaryl adduct contains multiple stereogenic centers in the bridging linkage as well as a thermodynamically controlled stereogenic axis. The energy difference between the two atropodiastereomers is about 9.1 kcal mol-1, which accounts for the observed excellent diastereoselectivity (>20 : 1).

Abstract
We report herein a tandem reaction of para-quinone methides with TMSCF2Br to construct bromofluoroalkenes in a Z-selective manner. While TMSCF2Br has been documented as the precursor of difluoro carbene, it exhibits another possibility in this transformation, a formal bromofluoro carbene surrogate. The alkenyl bromide unit of the products could directly engage in a variety of transformations.

Abstract
We report herein stereoselective syntheses of α,α-disubstituted (E)- and (Z)-crotylboronates. Starting from α-boryl (E)- or (Z)-crotylboronate, base-mediated alkylation occurred exclusively at the position α to the boryl groups to give targeted boronates while retaining the geometries of the alkenes in the starting crotylboronates. Under proper conditions, the resulting α,α-disubstituted crotylboronates underwent aldehyde addition to give allylated products with high stereoselectivities.

Abstract
We report herein a rare example of enantiodivergent aldehyde addition with β-alkenyl allylic boronates via chiral Brønsted acid catalysis. 2,6-Di-9-anthracenyl-substituted chiral phosphoric acid-catalyzed asymmetric allylation using β-vinyl substituted allylic boronate gave alcohols with R absolute configuration. The sense of asymmetric induction of the catalyst in these reactions is opposite to those in prior reports. Moreover, in the presence of the same acid catalyst, the reactions with β-2-propenyl substituted allylic boronate generated homoallylic alcohol products with S absolute configuration. Unusual substrate-catalyst C-H⋅⋅⋅π interactions in the favoured reaction transition state were identified as the origins of observed enantiodivergence through DFT computational studies.

Abstract
The catalytic asymmetric addition of β,γ-substituted allylboronates to aldehydes has been described. Promoted by 5 mol % chiral phosphoric acid, the reactions were broadly applicable, scalable, and efficient, allowing for the formation of 3,4-anti/syn-homoallylic alcohols bearing adjacent tertiary or quaternary stereogenic centers in a highly enantio- and diastereoselective manner (≤99% ee and dr >20:1). The rigid chairlike transition state involving the chiral phosphoric acid contributed to the highly controlled reaction.

Abstract
A convenient method for the dienylation of N-benzoylhydrazones in water has been developed. This protocol expanded the synthetic application of functionalized homoallenylboronates to provide the useful 2-aminomethyl-1,3-diene derivatives with high efficiency (up to 99% yield) and stereoselectivity without using any catalyst, additive or inert atmosphere. Furthermore, the transformation of a 2-aminomethyl-1,3-diene derivative to synthesize a functionalized pyrrolidine derivative was also explored.

Abstract
We report herein the development of stereodivergent syntheses of enantioenriched homoallylic alcohols using chiral nonracemic α-CH2 Bpin-substituted crotylboronate. Chiral phosphoric acid (S)-A-catalyzed asymmetric allyl addition with the reagent gave Z-anti-homoallylic alcohols with excellent enantioselectivities and Z-selectivities. When the enantiomeric acid catalyst (R)-A was utilized, the stereoselectivity was completely reversed and E-anti-homoallylic alcohols were obtained with high E-selectivities and excellent enantioselectivities. By pairing the chirality of the boron reagent with the catalyst, two complementary stereoisomers of chiral homoallylic alcohols can be obtained selectively from the same boron reagent. DFT computational studies were conducted to probe the origins of the observed stereoselectivity. These reactions generate highly enantioenriched homoallylic alcohol products that are valuable for rapid construction of polyketide structural frameworks.

Abstract
Highly stereo- and enantioselective synthesis of (E)-δ-hydroxymethyl-anti-homoallylic alcohols is reported. Under the developed conditions, reactions between aldehydes and chiral nonracemic α-borylmethyl-(E)-crotylboronate upon oxidative workup gave δ-hydroxymethyl-anti-homoallylic alcohols with high E-selectivities and enantioselectivities.

Abstract
A highly stereoselective synthesis of (E)-δ-boryl-anti-homoallylic alcohols is developed. In the presence of a Lewis acid, aldehyde allylation with α-boryl-(E)-crotylboronate gave δ-boryl-anti-homoallylic alcohols in good yields with excellent E-selectivity. The E-vinylboronate group in the products provides a useful handle for cross-coupling reactions as illustrated in the fragment synthesis of chaxamycins.

Abstract
Catalytic generation of ambiphilic π-allyl-metal complexes and their utility in enantioselective transformations constitutes a powerful approach for introduction of allyl groups to a molecule. Herein an unprecedented cobalt-catalyzed highly site-, diastereo-, and enantioselective protocol for stereoselective formation of nucleophilic allyl-Co(II) complexes followed by addition to aldehydes is presented. The reaction features diastereo- and enantioconvergent conversion of easily accessible allylic alcohol derivatives to diversified enantioenriched homoallylic alcohols with a remarkably broad scope of allyl groups that can be introduced. Mechanistic studies indicated that allyl radical intermediates were involved in this process. These new discoveries establish a new strategy for development of enantioselective transformations through capture of radicals by chiral Co complexes, pushing forward the frontier of Co complexes for enantioselective catalysis.

Abstract
Stereoselective synthesis of (E)-δ-vinyl-homoallylic alcohols was developed. Starting from α-vinyl allylboronate, Cu-catalyzed allylation of aldehydes or ketones forms secondary or tertiary δ-vinyl-homoallylic alcohols with high E-selectivities. It is proposed that the reaction operates under the Curtin-Hammett principle via the intermediacy of α-vinyl allylic copper species to give the alcohol products with high E-selectivities.

Abstract
By using commercially available 1,4-pentadiene as a pronucleophile, a copper(I)-catalyzed regioselective asymmetric allylation of ketones is achieved. A variety of chiral tertiary alcohols bearing a terminal (Z)-1,3-diene unit are generated in high (Z)/(E) ratio and high enantioselectivity. Both aromatic ketones and aliphatic ketones serve as suitable substrates. Furthermore, the reactions with (E)-C1(alkyl)-1,4-dienes proceed in moderate yields with acceptable enantioselectivity but with low (Z,E)/others ratio, which demonstrates the partial isomerization of (E)-allylcopper(I) species to (Z)-allylcopper(I) species through 1,3-migration. Subsequent Heck reaction and olefin metathesis compensate for the low efficiency with C1-1,4-dienes. The synthetic utility of the product is further demonstrated by a copper(I)-catalyzed regioselective borylation of the 1,3-diene group.

Abstract
We report a new method for constructing propionate-derived trisubstituted alkene motifs in a stereoselective manner. 1-Substituted 1,1-di(pinacolatoboryl)-(E)-alk-2-enes are generated in situ from 1-substituted 1,1-di(pinacolatoboryl)alk-3-enes through ruthenium(II)-catalyzed double-bond transposition. These species undergo a chiral phosphoric acid catalyzed allylation reaction of aldehydes to produce the E isomers of anti-homoallylic alcohols. On the other hand, the corresponding Z isomers of anti-homoallylic alcohols are obtained when a dimeric palladium(I) complex is employed as the catalyst for this double-bond transposition. Thus, both E and Z isomers can be synthesized from the same starting materials. A B-C(sp2 ) bond remaining with the allylation product undergoes the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reaction to furnish a propionate-derived trisubstituted alkene motif in a stereo-defined form. The present method to construct the motifs with (E)- and (Z)-alkenes are successfully applied to the syntheses of (+)-isotrichostatic acid, (-)-isotrichostatin RK, and (+)-trichostatic acid, respectively.

Abstract
The enantioselective anti- and syn-(borylmethyl)allylation of aldehydes via phosphoric acid catalysis is reported. Both (E)- and (Z)-γ-borylmethyl allylboronate reagents were prepared via the Cu-catalyzed highly stereoselective protoboration of 1,3-dienylboronate. Chiral phosphoric acid-catalyzed aldehyde allylation with either the (E)- or (Z)-allylboron reagent provided 1,2-anti- or 1,2-syn-adducts in good yields with high enantioselectivities. The application to the synthesis of morinol D was accomplished.

Abstract
A Cu-catalyzed regio-, diastereo-, and enantioselective carboboration of 1,1-bisboryl-1,3-butadiene is developed to generate enantioenriched 3,6'-bisboryl-anti-1,2-oxaborinan-3-enes. DFT calculations indicate that the initial diene 1,2-borocupration forms a 3 η-allylic copper as the most stable intermediate. Subsequent aldehyde addition, however, operates under Curtin-Hammett control via a more reactive α,α-bisboryl tertiary allylcopper species to furnish products with high enantioselectivities. The three boryl groups in the products are properly differentiated and can undergo a variety of chemoselective transformations to produce enantioenriched homoallylic alcohols with a stereodefined trisubstituted alkene.

Abstract
In this study, we disclose the catalytic addition of bi(cyclopentyl)diol-derived boronates to aldehydes promoted by chiral phosphoric acids, allowing for the formation of enantioenriched homoallylic, propargylic, and crotylic alcohols (up to >99% enantiomeric excess (ee), diastereomeric ratio (dr) >20:1). These boronate substrates provided superior enantioselectivities, allowing for the reactions to proceed with low catalyst loading (0.5-5 mol %) and reduced reaction time (15 min at room temperature for aldehyde allylboration). A wide substrate scope was exhibited, and the novel boronates provided high enantiocontrol. Reactions with substituted allylboronates and aldehydes yielded vicinal stereogenic alcohols bearing β-tertiary or quaternary carbon centers. High enantio- and diastereoselectivities were found due to the closed six-membered chair-like transition state, with backbone modifications of the boronate and its interactions with the chiral phosphoric acid being the most likely contributing factor.

Chiral Brønsted acid-catalyzed asymmetric aldehyde addition with the developed E-crotylboron reagent gave (E)-anti-1,2-oxaborinan-3-enes with excellent enantioselectivities and E-selectivities. With BF3·OEt2 catalysis, the stereoselectivity is reversed, and (Z)-δ-boryl-anti-homoallylic alcohols are obtained with excellent Z-selectivities from the same E-crotylboron reagent. The Z-crotylboron reagent also participates in BF3·OEt2-catalyzed crotylation to furnish (Z)-δ-boryl-syn-homoallylic alcohols with good Z-selectivities. DFT computations establish the origins of observed enantio- and stereoselectivities of chiral Brønsted acid-catalyzed asymmetric allylation. Stereochemical models for BF3·OEt2-catalyzed reactions are proposed to rationalize the Z-selective allyl additions. These reactions generate highly valuable homoallylic alcohol products with a stereodefined trisubstituted alkene unit. The synthetic utility is further demonstrated by the total syntheses of salinipyrones A and B.

Abstract
The enantioselective synthesis of 6'-boryl-anti-1,2-oxaborinan-3-enes is reported. A Cu-catalyzed highly stereoselective 1,4-protoboration of 1,1-bisboryl-1,3-butadiene is developed to generate (E)-α,δ-bisboryl-crotylboronate. The chiral phosphoric-acid-catalyzed asymmetric allylboration of aldehydes with the boron reagent produces 6'-boryl-anti-1,2-oxaborinan-3-enes with excellent Z-selectivities and enantioselectivities. The product contains a vinyl and alkyl boronate unit that can directly participate in a variety of subsequent transformations.

Abstract
Chiral phosphoric acid-catalyzed asymmetric aldehyde prenylation has been established using an α,α-dimethyl allyl boronic ester. The transformation provides expedient access to a wide array of aryl, heteroaryl, aryl-substituted alkenyl and primary and secondary aliphatic homoprenyl alcohols with excellent asymmetric induction. The utility of this asymmetric catalysis strategy has been demonstrated through a short and efficient total synthesis of the two natural products (-)-rosiridol and (-)-bifurcadiol.
