Abstract
Carbopalladation-initiated cascade reaction involving 1,4-Pd migration is a straightforward and powerful approach to activate remote C─H bond, forging versatile fused polycyclic compounds containing fluorene fragment which are highly valuable synthetic targets. However, its asymmetric variants pose considerable challenges and have not been explored. Here the first asymmetric palladium-catalyzed tandem carbopalladation is reported, 1,4-Pd migration reaction of ortho-iodophenol-derived allyl ether under mild conditions, allowing the transformation of a wide range of substrates in good to excellent enantioselectivities, and providing a facile and straight forward access to tetracyclic dihydroindeno[1,2,3-de]chromene bearing a chiral fluorene skeleton. A good functional group tolerance, high stereoselectivity, as well as the good chiroptical properties (high fluorescence quantum yields, circular dichroism) of the products make this approach highly attractive. Moreover, density functional theory (DFT) calculations indicate that the protonation of five-membered palladacycle intermediate is more favorable rather than its direct reductive elimination process.

Abstract
The coordination of anionic donors is involved at various stages of catalytic cycles in transition-metal catalysis, but control over the spatial positioning of anions around a metal center is a challenge in coordination chemistry. Here we show that regioisomeric phosphine-carboxylate ligands provide spatial anion control on palladium(II) centers by favoring either κ2, cis-κ1, or trans-κ1 coordination of the carboxylate donor. Additionally, the palladium(II) carboxylates, which contain a methyl donor, upon protonation, deliver metal-alkyl complexes that feature a coordinated carboxylic acid. Such complexes can be considered as models for the minima that follow the concerted metalation-deprotonation transition state for C-H activation. The predictability of the coordination modes is further demonstrated on silver(I) and copper(I) centers, for which less common structures of mononuclear and dinuclear complexes can be obtained by using spatial anion control. Our results demonstrate the potential for spatial control over carboxylate anions in coordination chemistry.

Abstract
A CuH-catalyzed reductive coupling of nitroarenes with phosphine oxides is developed, which produces a series of phosphamides in moderate to excellent yields with good functional group tolerance. Gram-scale synthesis and late-stage modification of nitro-aromatic functional molecule niclosamide are also successfully conducted. The mechanism study shows that the nitro group is transformed after being reduced to nitroso and a nucleophilic addition procedure is involved during the reaction.

Abstract
A class of chiral-bridged biphenyl phosphine-carboxylate bifunctional ligands CB-Phos has been developed and successfully applied to Pd(0)-catalyzed single enantioselective C-H arylation and a one pot cascade reaction involving Suzuki cross-coupling and C-H arylation. The catalytic system provides a new and convenient way for the synthesis of versatile chiral dihydrophenanthridines with rich structures and broad functional group tolerance. Good to excellent yields with high enantioselectivities were generally achieved. The reaction mechanism of the cascade reaction was also preliminarily discussed.

Abstract
Transition-metal-catalyzed coupling reactions that involve the direct functionalization of insert C-H bond represent one of the most efficient strategies for forming carbon-carbon bonds. Herein, a palladium-catalyzed intramolecular C-H bond arylation of triaryl phosphates is reported to access seven-membered cyclic biarylphosphonate targets. The reaction is achieved via a unique eight-membered palladacyclic intermediate and shows good functional group compatibility. Meanwhile, the product can be readily converted into other valuable phosphate compounds.

Abstract
The three-dimensional structure of carbohelicenes has fascinated generations of molecular chemists and has been exploited in a wide range of applications. Their strong circularly polarized luminescence has attracted considerable attention in recent years due to promising applications in new optical materials. Although the enantioselective synthesis of fused carbo- and heterohelicenes has been achieved, a direct catalytic enantioselective method allowing the synthesis of lower, non-fused carbo[n]helicenes (n = 4-6) is still lacking. We report here that Pd-catalysed enantioselective C-H arylation in the presence of a unique bifunctional phosphine-carboxylate ligand provides a simple and general access to these lower carbo[n]helicenes. Computational mechanistic studies indicate that both the C-H activation and reductive elimination steps contribute to the overall enantioselectivity. The observed enantio-induction seems to arise from a combination of non-covalent interactions and steric repulsion between the substrate and ligand during the two key reductive elimination steps. The photophysical and chiroptical properties of the synthesized scalemic [n]helicenes have been systematically studied.

Abstract
Spatial distancing of a substrate's reactive group and nonreactive catalyst-binding group from its pro-stereogenic element presents substantial hurdles in asymmetric catalysis. In this context, we report a desymmetrizing Suzuki-Miyaura reaction that establishes chirality at a remote quaternary carbon. The anionic, chiral catalyst exerts stereocontrol through electrostatic steering of substrates, even as the substrate's reactive group and charged catalyst-binding group become increasingly distanced. This study demonstrates that precise long-range stereocontrol is achievable by engaging ionic substrate-ligand interactions at a distal position.

Abstract
AbstractTransition-metal-catalyzed asymmetric C–H functionalization has become a powerful strategy to synthesize complex chiral molecules. Recently, catalytic enantioselective C–H arylation has attracted great interest from organic chemists to construct aryl-substituted chiral compounds. In this short review, we highlight recent advances in asymmetric C–H arylation from 2019 to late 2021, including enantioselective C(sp2)–H arylation to construct axial or planar chiral compounds, and enantioselective C(sp3)–H arylation to introduce central chirality via desymmetrization of the methyl group or methylene C–H activation. These processes proceed with palladium, rhodium, iridium, nickel, or copper catalysts, and utilize aryl halides, boron, or diazo derivatives as arylation reagents.1 Introduction2 Transition-Metal-Catalyzed Asymmetric C(sp2)–H Arylation2.1 Chelation-Assisted Asymmetric C(sp2)–H Arylation for the Construction of Atropisomer2.2 Chelation-Assisted Asymmetric C(sp2)–H Arylation for the Construction of Planar Chiral Compounds2.3 Chelation-Assisted Asymmetric C(sp2)–H Arylation and Axial-to-Central Chirality Transfer for the Construction of Spirocycles2.4 Other Asymmetric C(sp2)–H Arylation Reactions3 Transition-Metal-Catalyzed Asymmetric C(sp3)–H Arylation3.1 Chelation-Assisted Enantioselective C(sp3)–H Arylation through Desymmetrization3.2 Chelation-Assisted Enantioselective Methylene C(sp3)–H Arylation3.3 Other Asymmetric C(sp3)–H Arylations4 Conclusion and Outlook
