Abstract
The pyranopyrimidine core is a key precursor for medicinal and pharmaceutical industries due to its broader synthetic applications as well as its bioavailability. Among its four possible isomers, we found that 5H-pyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidine scaffolds have a wide range of applicability, and in recent years, they have been intensively investigated, but the development of the main core is found to be more challenging due to its structural existence. In this review article, we cover all of the synthetic pathways that are employed for the development of substituted 4-aryl-octahydropyrano/hexahydrofuro[2,3-d]pyrimidin-2-one (thiones) and 5-aryl-substituted pyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidindione (2-thiones) derivatives through a one-pot multicomponent reaction using diversified hybrid catalysts such as organocatalysts, metal catalysts, ionic liquid catalysts, nanocatalysts, green solvents, catalyst-/solvent-free conditions, and miscellaneous catalysts as well as the mechanism and recyclability of the catalysts. This review mainly focuses on the application of hybrid catalysts (from 1992 to 2022) for the synthesis of 5H-pyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidine scaffolds. This review will definitely attract the world's leading researchers to utilize broader catalytic applications for the development of lead molecules.

Abstract
We developed a novel asymmetric Friedel-Crafts alkylation/transamidation tandem reaction for the enantio- and diastereoselective synthesis of pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridin-6-ones bearing a -CF3 unit via synergistic chiral phosphoric acid and MgSO4 catalysis. This [3 + 3] annulation protocol allows the formation of trifluoromethylated pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridin-6-ones with two adjacent tertiary stereocenters in moderate to high yields (up to 90%), enantioselectivities (up to 97% ee), and diastereoselectivities (up to >20:1 dr).

Abstract
Nitrogen, oxygen and sulfur-containing fused heterocycles are of great importance
because of their exciting and diverse biological activities. The construction of the carbonnitrogen
and carbon-oxygen through a multicomponent reaction approach by using ecofriendly
reusable heterogeneous catalysts are of significant importance as it opens avenues for
the introduction of nitrogen and oxygen in organic molecules. Thus, green methodologies
have gained particular significance in this field; today, green chemistry is considered a tool
for introducing sustainable concepts at the fundamental level. This review emphasizes and
discusses the current progress on the applications of eco-friendly, recyclable heterogeneous
catalysts for the synthesis of different heterocyclic fused systems and their green protocols.
We paid particular attention to the specific integration of carbon-nitrogen, and carbon-oxygen
bond-forming fused heterocycles by a one-pot approach by evaluating the literature between 2012 and the middle of
2020. The efficiency of the catalyst is assessed in terms of reaction time, yield and possible reusability. The MCR and
heterogeneous catalyst strategies have demonstrated broader scope, economical and viability for the green and sustainable
processes in the field of synthetic organic chemistry.

Abstract
A versatile, efficient, clean, and facile method was used for the synthesis of pyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivatives by the one-pot three-component condensation reaction of thiobarbituric acid and malononitrile with p-chlorobenzaldehyde, using Fe3 O4 or ZnO or Mn3 O4 as nanostructure catalysts. The catalyst could be easily recovered using an external magnet and reused for six cycles with almost a consistent activity. A series of polyheterocyclic compounds containing five and/or six rings fused with each other was designed. The anti-inflammatory activities for some of the newly synthesized compounds were evaluated. All the synthesized compounds were characterized on the basis of their elemental analyses and spectral data.

Abstract
Three different palladium(II) complexes with ligands containing nitrogenized aromatic rings were investigated theoretically as model to obtain the computational band gap energies. The results demonstrated promising possibility for designing palladium(II) complexes with photocatalytic properties at visible light irradiation. Deliberated products were synthesized via grafting on the silica-coated Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles (Fe3O4@SiO2). Formation of complexes on the surface of Fe3O4@SiO2, as insoluble and reusable photocatalysts, was proved by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric (TGA), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), transmission electron microscope (TEM), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analyses. The trend of the band gap energies of prepared structures was calculated via experimental and theoretical methods. The photocatalytic capability of these nanoparticles was investigated in degradation of 2,4-dichlorophenol by means of HPLC analysis. A tentative reaction mechanism for the formation of intermediates was proposed. Graphical abstract ᅟ.
