Abstract
The Suzuki-Miyaura coupling is a widely used C-C bond forming reaction. Numerous mechanistic studies have enabled the use of low catalyst loadings and broad functional group tolerance. However, the dominant mode of transmetalation remains controversial and likely depends on the conditions employed. Herein we detail a mechanistic study of the palladium-catalyzed Suzuki-Miyaura coupling under biphasic conditions. The use of phase transfer catalysts results in a remarkable 12-fold rate enhancement in the targeted system. A shift from an oxo-palladium based transmetalation to a boronate-based pathway lies at the root of this activity. Furthermore, a study of the impact of different water loadings reveals reducing the proportion of the aqueous phase increases the reaction rate, contrary to reaction conditions typically employed in the literature. The importance of these findings is highlighted by achieving an exceptionally broad substrate scope with benzylic electrophiles using a 10-fold reduction in catalyst loading relative to literature precedent.

Abstract
A palladium(II)-catalyzed Markovnikov hydroboration of aryl alkenes with readily available bis(pinacolato)diboron (B2pin2) is reported. The reaction proceeded with low catalyst loading (0.5 mol %) in the absence of N- or P-containing ligands, affording the products in up to 90% yield. Trifluoracetic acid serves as the hydrogen source, enabling the synthesis of benzylic boronic esters under mild ambient conditions.

Abstract
Electron-rich and hindered aryl chlorides are the most challenging substrates in Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling (SMC) reactions. Herein, we report a highly efficient catalytic system for the SMC reaction using trace amounts of commercially available catalysts [Pd(PPh3)4/(t-Bu)PCy2; Pd loading as low as 9.5 × 10-5 mol%]. This catalytic system can efficiently couple deactivated and sterically hindered aryl chlorides with various substituted phenylboronic acids, even in one-pot multiple coupling reactions (yield of products up to 92%). The impact of solvents on SMC reactions and the mechanisms of by-product formation in aryl boronic acid couplings are analyzed using density functional theory (DFT). Utilizing trace amounts of commercially available catalysts avoids complex synthesis, reduces costs, and minimizes metal residues.

Abstract
An Artificial Metalloenzyme (ArM) built employing the streptavidin-biotin technology has been used for the enantioselective synthesis of binaphthyls by means of asymmetric Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reactions. Despite its success, it remains a challenge to understand how the length of the biotin cofactors or the introduction of mutations to streptavidin leads the preferential synthesis of one atropisomer over the other. In this study, we apply an integrated computational modeling approach, including DFT calculations, protein-ligand dockings and molecular dynamics to rationalize the impact of mutations and length of the biotion cofactor on the enantioselectivities of the biaryl product. The results unravel that the enantiomeric differences found experimentally can be rationalized by the disposition of the first intermediate, coming from the oxidative addition step, and the entrance of the second substrate. The work also showcases the difficulties facing to control the enantioselection when engineering ArM to catalyze enantioselective Suzuki-Miyaura couplings and how the combination of DFT calculations, molecular dockings and MD simulations can be used to rationalize artificial metalloenzymes.

Abstract
Herein, we report a formal synthesis of (±)-arborisidine via the creation of Jiao's intermediate with the critical caged structure. Starting from tryptamine, a Pictet-Spengler cyclization forged the piperidine ring, a Pd-catalyzed indole allylation and ring-closing metathesis protocol afforded a bridged aza-bicyclo[3.3.1]nonane moiety, and an intramolecular N-alkylation closed the final pyrrolidine ring. This study provides a new approach to the unique caged framework of arborisidine and relevant alkaloids.

Abstract
The development of an automated process for Suzuki-Miyaura cross couplings is described, in which the complete reaction, workup, and product isolation are effected automatically with no user involvement, aside from loading of the starting materials and reaction capsule. This practical and simple method was successfully demonstrated to provide the desired biaryl products using a range of aryl bromides and boronic acids and is also effective for the late-stage functionalization of aryl halides in bioactive molecules.

Abstract
A water-soluble nickel complex based on amino-β-CD was developed using a facile method and exhibits excellent catalytic performance in the Suzuki reaction in water. This synthesized complex has been characterized using UV-Vis, AAS, TGA, and FT-IR techniques. The easily synthesized novel supramolecular catalysts have been applied as a green and eco-friendly catalyst in the Suzuki coupling for preparing diverse biaryls. This result indicates that using 2.5 mol% of nickel, K2CO3 as the best base, and water as the green solvent are the best reaction conditions. This new catalyst features easy handling, low-cost, mild, and simple protocol. The use of low-cost and accessibility of the reagents, modest conditions, and good yields of products are notable characteristics of this method. Using aqueous media with this catalyst as a proper catalyst makes the presented process a fascinating method compared to most reports. Under mild reaction conditions, this green Ni(II)-β-CD catalyst displayed recyclable behavior seven times with minor loss in its catalytic activity.

Abstract
The facile and efficient synthesis of a unique class of 4-aryl-hydrocoumarins having enormous applications in medicinal chemistry and natural products is presented. We have for the first time developed a Brønsted acid-catalyzed, multicomponent, one-pot approach for producing various 4-aryl-coumarin derivatives. The feedstock availability of these precursors allowed access to a wide range of 2-chromanone derivatives in good to excellent yields under mild conditions. The practicality of this protocol was justified by the synthesis of bioactive compounds, late-stage functionalization of natural products, and gram-scale synthesis.

Abstract
A modular approach to highly functional acyl (MIDA)boronates is described. It involves the generation of the hitherto unknown radical derived from acetyl (MIDA)boronate and its capture by various alkenes, including electronically unbiased, unactivated alkenes. In contrast to the anion of acetyl (MIDA)boronate, which has not so far been employed in synthesis, the corresponding radical is well behaved and readily produced from the novel α-xanthyl acetyl (MIDA)boronate. This shelf-stable, easily prepared solid is a convenient acyl (MIDA)boronate transfer agent that provides a direct entry to numerous otherwise inaccessible structures, including latent 1,4-dicarbonyl derivatives that can be transformed into B(MIDA) substituted pyrroles and furans. A competition experiment indicated the acyl (MIDA)boronate substituted radical to be more stable than the all-carbon acetonyl radical but somewhat less reactive in additions to alkenes.

Abstract
This work presents the simple synthesis of a green and novel Palladium based magnetic nanocatalyst with effective catalytic properties and reusability. These heterogeneous catalysts were prepared by the anchoring of Pd(0) on the surface of ZrFe2O4 MNPs coated with a di-substituted adenine (Ade) compound as a green linker. The as-synthesized ZrFe2O4@SiO2@Ade-Pd MNPs were methodically characterized over different physicochemical measures like VSM, EDX, Map, SEM, TEM, ICP, and FT-IR analysis. The catalytic activity of ZrFe2O4@SiO2@Ade-Pd was carefully examined for the room-temperature Carbon-Carbon coupling reaction in acetonitrile as a solvent. It is worth noting that the synthesized solid catalyst can be easily recovered with a bar magnet and reused for five cycles without decrease of catalytic activity.

Abstract
A novel heterogeneous Zr-based metal-organic framework containing an amino group functionalized with nitrogen-rich organic ligand (guanidine), through a step-by-step post synthesis modification approach, was successfully modified by the stabilization of palladium metal nanoparticles on the prepared UiO-66-NH2 support in order to synthesize the Suzuki-Murray, Mizoroki-Heck, and copper-free Sonogashira reactions and also the carbonylative Sonogashira reaction incorporating H2O as a green solvent under mild conditions. This newly synthesized highly efficient and reusable UiO-66-NH2@cyanuric chloride@guanidine/Pd-NPs reported catalyst has been utilized to increase anchoring palladium onto the substrate with the aim of altering the construction of the intended synthesis catalyst to form the C-C coupling derivatives. Several strategies, including X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared, scanning electron microscopy, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller, transmission microscopy electron, thermogravimetric analysis, inductively coupled plasma, energy-dispersive X-ray, and elemental mapping analyzes, were used to indicate the successful preparation of the UiO-66-NH2@cyanuric chloride@guanidine/Pd-NPs. In these reactions, the UiO-66-NH2-supported Pd-NPs illustrated superior performances compared to their catalyst, revealing the benefits of providing nanocatalysts. As a result, the proposed catalyst is favorable in a green solvent, and also, the outputs are accomplished with good to excellent outputs. Furthermore, the suggested catalyst represented very good reusability with no remarkable loss in activity up nine sequential runs.

Abstract
This study describes the synthesis of novel amphiphilic linear-dendritic block copolymers and their self-assembly in water to form supramolecular nanoreactors capable of catalyzing Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reactions under “green” conditions. The block copolymers were formed through copper(I)-catalyzed alkyne-azide cycloaddition between azide functionalized poly(benzyl ether) dendrons as the perfectly branched blocks, as well as bis-alkyne modified poly(ethylene glycol), PEG, as the linear block. A first-generation poly(benzyl ether) dendron (G1) was coupled to a bis-alkyne modified PEG with molecular mass of 5 kDa, forming an ABA copolymer (G1)2-PEG5k-(G1)2 (yield 62%), while a second-generation dendron (G2) was coupled to a 11 kDa bis-alkyne modified PEG to produce (G2)2-PEG11k-(G2)2 (yield 49%). The structural purity and low dispersity of the linear-dendritic copolymers were verified by size-exclusion chromatography and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry. Their self-assembly was studied by dynamic light scattering, showing that (G1)2-PEG5k-(G1)2 and (G2)2-PEG11k-(G2)2 formed single populations of micelles (17 nm and 37 nm in diameter, respectively). The triazole rings located at the boundaries between the core and the corona are efficient chelating groups for transition metals. The ability of the micelles to complex Pd was confirmed by 1H NMR, transmission electron microscopy, and inductively coupled plasma. The catalytic activity of the supramolecular linear-dendritic/Pd complexes was tested in water by model Suzuki-Miyaura reactions in which quantitative yields were achieved within 3 h at 40 °C, while, at 17 °C, a yield of more than 70% was attained after 17 h.

Abstract
This study reports the synthesis of seven new 8-amino-7-(aryl/hetaryl)fluoroquinolones and their antibacterial activity against 10 bacteria associated with microbial infections and foodborne illnesses. These fluoroquinolones are prepared via the reactions of selected aryl(hetaryl)boronic acids with ethyl-7chloro-6-fluoro-8-nitroquinolone-3-carboxylate, under Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling conditions. Nitro group reduction of the latter resulted in the corresponding 8-aminoquinolone-3-esters which upon hydrolysis formed the respective 8-amino-7-(aryl/hetaryl)-quinolone-3-carboxylic acids. The latter compounds were tested against selected Gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhimurium, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter baumannii, and Klebsiella pneumonia) and Gram-positive bacteria (Enterococcus feacalis, Listeria monocytogenes, Streptococcus agalactiae, Staphylococcus epidermidis, and Staphylococcus aureus). The tested fluoroquinolones showed a significant antimicrobial activity against most of the tested bacterial strains. The antimicrobial activity of some of the tested compounds were comparable to or higher than a wide range of standard antibiotics including ampicillin, ciprofloxacin, and imipenem. The results highlight the new synthesized 8-amino-7-(aryl/hetaryl)fluroquinolones as promising candidates for new antimicrobial drugs to treat bacterial infections. This study highlights that the newly synthetic 8-amino-7-(aryl/hetaryl)fluroquinolones are promising candidates for new antimicrobial drugs to treat human diseases including foodborne illnesses.

Abstract
Here we prepared a highly efficient and reusable catalyst by a step-by-step postsynthesis modification of UiO-66-NH2 metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with nitrogen-rich organic ligands and used it as support for the preparation of UiO-66-NH2@cyanuric chloride@2-aminopyrimidine/PdNPs. The catalytic performance's results of UiO-66-NH2@cyanuric chloride@2-aminopyrimidine/PdNPs, UiO-66-NH2/PdNPs, and UiO-66-NH2@cyanuric chloride/PdNPs indicate high efficiency of the modulation of the microenvironment of the palladium NPs. The addition of N-rich organic ligands through postsynthesis modification caused a unique structure of the final composite in favor of the progress of the C-C coupling reaction. Various techniques, including FT-IR, XRD, SEM, TEM, EDS, and elemental mapping, were used to characterize UiO-66-NH2@cyanuric chloride@2-aminopyrimidine/PdNPs, indicating its successful preparation. Three C-C coupling reactions, including the Suzuki, Heck, and Sonogashira coupling reactions, were promoted using the produced catalyst. As a result of the postsynthesis modification (PSM), the proposed catalyst displays improved catalytic performance. In addition, the suggested catalyst was highly recyclable up to ten times without leaching of PdNPs.

Abstract
The combination of metal-, photo-, enzyme-, and/or organocatalysis provides multiple synthetic solutions, especially when the creation of chiral centers is involved. Historically, enzymes and transition metal species have been exploited simultaneously through dynamic kinetic resolutions of racemates. However, more recently, linear cascades have appeared as elegant solutions for the preparation of valuable organic molecules combining multiple bioprocesses and metal-catalyzed transformations. Many advantages are derived from this symbiosis, although there are still bottlenecks to be addressed including the successful coexistence of both catalyst types, the need for compatible reaction media and mild conditions, or the minimization of cross-reactivities. Therefore, solutions are here also provided by means of catalyst coimmobilization, compartmentalization strategies, flow chemistry, etc. A comprehensive review is presented focusing on the period 2015 to early 2022, which has been divided into two main sections that comprise first the use of metals and enzymes as independent catalysts but working in an orchestral or sequential manner, and later their application as bionanohybrid materials through their coimmobilization in adequate supports. Each part has been classified into different subheadings, the first part based on the reaction catalyzed by the metal catalyst, while the development of nonasymmetric or stereoselective processes was considered for the bionanohybrid section.

Abstract
The fundamentals of Pd-catalyzed Csp2−Csp2 Miyaura borylation, Suzuki cross-coupling, and Stille cross-coupling reactions for a variety of borylated precursors based on phenothiazine (PTZ), phenoxazine (POZ), carbazole (Cz), and quinoxaline (QX) units have been explored. Three palladium-based catalysts were chosen for this study: Pd(PPh3)4, Pd(PPh3)2Cl2, and Pd(dppf)Cl2, applying different reaction conditions. Around 16 desired chromophores were successfully designed and synthesized using C-C cross-coupling reactions in moderate to excellent yields, including PTZ, POZ, and Cz units coupled with QX, indolinium iodide, thienyl, phenyl, or triphenylamine moieties. Additionally, PTZ, POZ, and Cz have been employed in synthesizing various pinacol boronate ester derivatives in good to moderate yields. Interestingly, Pd(dppf)Cl2 was found to be the best catalyst for borylation, and C-C cross-coupling reactions occurred in as little as 30 min, with an excellent yield exceeding 98%. Pd(PPh3)4 and Pd(PPh3)2Cl2 catalyzed the reaction to obtain the desired products in moderate to good yields after a long time (20–24 h). On the other hand, the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling between N-(2-methyl)hexyl carbazole pinacol boronate ester derivative 10c and three halogenated quinoxaline derivatives—4-(3-(5-bromothiophen-2-yl)quinoxalin-2-yl)benzaldehyde (27), 4-(5-(3-(5-bromothiophen-2-yl)quinoxalin-2-yl)thiophen-2-yl)benzaldehyde (30), and 4-(3-chloroquinoxalin-2-yl)benzaldehyde (25) catalyzed by Pd(PPh3)4—afforded three carbazole-quinoxaline chromophores (28, 30, and 31, respectively) in 2–3 h, with good to excellent yields reaching 86%. The electron-deficient QX couplers proved to be coupled efficiently using the Stille coupling reaction, which involves the coupling between electron-rich orgaostannane and electron-deficient halide. The synthesized precursors and desired chromophores were characterized by FTIR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, and HRMS.

Abstract
The development of efficient and recyclable heterogeneous Pd catalysts is an area of continuing attention due to their critical applications in organic synthesis and pharmaceutical production. In this study, two novel heterogeneous catalysts Pd@PAF-182 and Pd@PAF-183 were prepared by the immobilization/NaBH4 reduction of PdCl42- on hydrophilic cationic porous aromatic frameworks (PAF-182 and PAF-183), which were synthesized via a Yamamoto-type Ullmann coupling reaction from the corresponding aryl quaternary phosphonium salt monomer. Characterization by powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), solid-state Cross-Polarization Magic-Angle-Spinning Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (CP/MAS NMR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) established the structures of the as-prepared catalysts. Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) detection showed that the loading of Pd nanoparticles (Pd NPs) were 29.4 wt% for Pd@PAF-182 and 37.5 wt% for Pd@PAF-183, much higher than those of similar porous materials. Evaluation of the catalytic activity of the Pd@PAFs using Suzuki coupling as the model reaction demonstrated that as little as 0.12 mol% of Pd NPs could catalyze the Suzuki coupling with high efficiency, achieving yields up to 99% at 80 °C in 8 h. Recycling experiments also suggested that Pd@PAF-182 and Pd@PAF-183 maintained high catalytic activity with negligible leaching of Pd NPs after five cycles.

Abstract
We herein report a novel method for the coupling of unactivated alkynes and arylallenes, which relies on an unprecedented and regioselective 1,2‐carboboration of the allene by an alkenylborane. The alkenylborane is conveniently prepared in situ by hydroboration of an alkyne with Piers’ borane, i. e., HB(C6F5)2. The boryl‐substituted 1,4‐dienes that are formed by this carboboration are well‐suited for a subsequent Suzuki‐Miyaura coupling with aryl iodides. This allowed us to develop a three‐step, one‐pot protocol for the synthesis of aryl‐substituted 1,4‐dienes. The generality of the reaction was demonstrated by the synthesis of twenty dienes with modular variations of all three reaction partners. The mechanism of the new 1,2‐carboboration was investigated using dispersion corrected double‐hybrid DFT computations that allowed us to rationalize the chemo‐ and regioselectivity of this key step.

Abstract
Palladium was immobilized on a highly porous copolymer of 4-vinylpyridine and divinylbenzene (polyHIPE-poly(high internal phase emulsion)) using palladium(II) acetate to obtain PolyPy-Pd with 6.1 wt % or 0.57 mmol Pd/g. The immobilized catalyst was able to catalyze the coupling of iodobenzene and phenylboronic acid in ethylene glycol monomethyl ether/water (3:1) within 4 h at rt and complete conversion was observed when 2.5 mol % of Pd per PhI was used. The reaction tolerated a wide range of substituents on the aromatic ring. Iodobenzene derivatives with electron-withdrawing substituents showed higher reactivity, while the opposite was true for the phenylboronic acid series. The polyHIPE-supported Pd catalyst was also used for the direct conversion of phenylboronic acid to biphenyl through an iodination/coupling reaction sequence. The recyclability of the heterogeneous catalyst was also optimized, and by finding a suitable combination of solvents for the loading of Pd, the reaction, and the isolation of the product, the solid-supported catalyst was completely regenerated and used in the next reaction with the same activity.

Abstract
A novel family of indole-amide-based phosphine ligands was designed and synthesized. The Pd/InAm-phos (L1) catalytic system exhibited excellent efficiency in the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling of sterically hindered (hetero)aryl chlorides to synthesize tri-ortho-substituted biaryls. Excellent product yields were obtained in a short reaction time (e.g., 10 min), and a Pd catalyst loading down to 50 ppm was also achieved. The oxidative addition adduct of Pd-L1 with 2-chlorotoluene was also well-characterized by single-crystal X-ray crystallography and showed a κ2-P,O-coordination of L1 with palladium.

Abstract
A new cobalt complex bearing a bulky N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligand is described as a pre-catalyst for alkyne hydroboration. The proposed catalytic system, synthesized using easily accessible reagents, allowed obtaining a series of mono- and dialkenylboranes in solvent-free conditions with excellent efficiency and selectivity. The results have been compared to those obtained in the presence of the same cobalt complex containing smaller NHC ligands and those achieved for the catalytic system based on a CoCl2 – NHC precursor. Cobalt complex bearing bulky NHC ligand enable selective hydroboration of alkynes in solvent-free conditions.![]()

Abstract

While the formation
and breaking of transition metal (TM)–carbon
bonds plays a pivotal role in the catalysis of organic compounds,
the reactivity of inorganometallic species, that is, those involving
the transition metal (TM)–metalloid (E) bond, is of key importance
in most conversions of metalloid derivatives catalyzed by TM complexes.
This Review presents the background of inorganometallic catalysis
and its development over the last 15 years. The results of mechanistic
studies presented in the Review are related to the occurrence of TM–E
and TM–H compounds as reactive intermediates in the catalytic
transformations of selected metalloids (E = B, Si, Ge, Sn, As, Sb,
or Te). The Review illustrates the significance of inorganometallics
in catalysis of the following processes: addition of metalloid–hydrogen
and metalloid–metalloid bonds to unsaturated compounds; activation
and functionalization of C–H bonds and C–X bonds with
hydrometalloids and bismetalloids; activation and functionalization
of C–H bonds with vinylmetalloids, metalloid halides, and sulfonates;
and dehydrocoupling of hydrometalloids. This first Review on inorganometallic
catalysis sums up the developments in the catalytic methods for the
synthesis of organometalloid compounds and their applications in advanced
organic synthesis as a part of tandem reactions.

Abstract
Di(1-adamantyl)phosphine oxide (SPO-Ad: Ad2P(V)(=O)H), a stable tautomer of di(1-adamantyl)phosphinous acid (PA-Ad: Ad2P(III)-OH), was employed to synthesize two new PA-Ad-coordinated complexes, POPd-Ad and POPd2-Ad. POPd-Ad was easily transformed from POPd2-Ad in acetonitrile, and the [M - H]- ion of the deprotonated POPd-Ad was observed in the electrospray ionization-mass spectrum of POPd2-Ad. Both complexes are effective precatalysts for the Suzuki reaction of aryl chlorides. The reduction of Pd(II) in POPd-Ad and POPd2-Ad by arylboronic acid was examined, and the ideal Pd-to-PA ratio in the Suzuki reaction was found to be 1:1. The effect of temperature on the catalytic yields was studied to examine the possible ligation state of the active species and the dimer-to-monomer process of POPd2-Ad. Mononuclear and mono-ligated Pd species was assumed to be catalytically active. The electronic and steric effects of PA-Ad were slightly better than those reported for PA-tBu ( t Bu2P(III)-OH). Density functional theory calculations were performed to evaluate the formation of mono-ligated and mononuclear Pd species from POPd-Ad and POPd2-Ad. Furthermore, the reaction time and catalyst loading could be reduced for the reported POPd1-tBu precatalyst using the optimized reaction conditions for POPd-Ad. The complexes synthesized in this extensive study will complement the existing SPO-coordinated POPd series of precatalysts.

Abstract
A modular, stereoselective route to trisubstituted (Z)-alkenyl (MIDA)boronates is described, consisting of the radical addition-fragmentation of dithiocarbonates to 2-(MIDA)boronyl-3-(2'-fluoro-pyridyl-6'-oxy)-alkenes. The bulky (MIDA)boronate ensures a highly stereoselective fragmentation that is enhanced by the poor stabilization of the radical adjacent to the tetravalent boron atom. The vinyl boronate precursors are prepared from propargyl alcohols by copper-catalyzed regioselective protoboration of their fluoropyridoxy derivatives, with the fluoropyridine acting as an internal directing group.

Abstract
In continuation of our recent research on introducing natural asphalt as a new carbonious, eco-friendly, highly economical support, and also in addition to our plan to develop its application in heterogeneous catalyst chemistry, palladium grafted on natural asphalt sulfonate (Na [Pd-NAS]), was prepared and characterized using usual spectroscopy techniques. This new carbon-based heterogeneous nanocatalyst was successfully applied as an efficient catalyst for the Suzuki, Stille and Heck reactions under mild and sustainable conditions. The reaction of various aryl halides with triphenyltin chloride, phenylboronic acid or n-butyl acrylate provided the corresponding products with moderate to good yields. Na [Pd-NAS] was characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, inductively coupled plasma, thermogravimetric analysis techniques and N2 adsorption-desorption measurement. SEM image illustrated that the Na [Pd-NAS] has vermicular and flaky shapes. According to the IUPAC classiication, the sample exhibited IV type curves. More importantly, this ligand-free catalyst is stable under the reaction conditions. Besides, the catalyst was separated by simple filtration and reused for the several times without any deterioration in its activity. In this research we report Na[Pd-NAS] as a versatile and reusable nanocatalyst for the C-C coupling reactions.

Abstract
The photoelectric properties and catalytic activities of substituted triphenylphosphine and sulfur/selenium ligand supported aromatic triangular tri-palladium complexes 1-4, abbreviated as [Pd3]+, were investigated. The cyclic voltammogram of [Pd3]+ in CH3CN-nBu4NPF6 showed a single quasi-reversible wave which was consistent with their robust property and provided preliminary proof for their electron transfer processes in catalysis. With excitation at 267 nm, [Pd3]+ exhibited strong ratiometric fluorescence at 550 and 780 nm at a temperature gradient from 77 K to 287 K. These peculiar triangular tri-palladium complexes showed excellent catalytic activities and exclusive reactivity with aryl iodides over the other halogenated aromatics in the Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reaction. The electronic and steric hindrance effects of substituents on the aryl iodides and aryl boronic acids including heteroaromatics like pyridine, pyrazine and thiophenes were explored and most substrates achieved up to 99% of yields. (2-[1,1'-Biphenyl]-2-ylbenzothiazole) which was analogous to the selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitors was also synthesized with our tri-palladium catalyst and gave good isolated yield (94%). The study of the catalytic process revealed that the mechanism of the reaction may involve the replacement of the sulphur ligand on [Pd3]+ by iodine from aryl iodides, which was beneficial for the matching of C-I bond energy.

Abstract
The first general preparation of 4-bromo-2,3-dihydrofurans is reported. These non-aromatic heterocycles containing a useful coupling handle are accessed via Cu-catalyzed intramolecular cyclization of 1,2-dibromohomoallylic alcohols, which are themselves available in just two steps from aromatic and aliphatic aldehydes and ketones. Molecular dynamics simulations using the simple substrates and key geometric parameters provide a rationale for the selectivities observed. The synthetic utility of the 4-bromodihydrofurans is also demonstrated.

Abstract
A family of biaryl phosphacyclic ligands derived from phobane and phosphatrioxa-adamantane frameworks is described. The rigid biaryl phosphacycles are efficient for Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling of aryl bromides and chlorides. In particular, coupling reactions of the challenging sterically hindered and heterocyclic substrates were viable at room temperature.

Abstract
Organoselenium ligands have attracted great attention among researchers during the past two decades. Various homogeneous, heterogeneous and nanocatalytic systems have been designed using such ligands. Although reports on selenium ligated homogeneous catalysts are quite high in number, significant work has also been done on the development of heterogeneous and nanocatalytic systems using organoselenium ligands. A review article, focusing on the utility of organoselenium compounds in the development of catalytic systems, was published in 2012 (A. Kumar, G. K. Rao, F. Saleem and A. K. Singh, Dalton Trans., 2012, 41, 11949). Moreover, it mainly covered the homogeneous catalysts. There are no review articles in the literature on heterogeneous and nanocatalytic systems designed using organoselenium compounds and their applications. Hence, this perspective aims to cover the developments pertaining to the synthetic aspects of such catalytic systems (using organoselenium compounds) and their applications in catalysis of a variety of chemical transformations. Salient features and advantages of organoselenium compounds have also been highlighted to justify the rationale behind their use in catalyst development. Their performance in various chemical transformations [viz. Suzuki-Miyaura coupling, Heck coupling, Sonogashira coupling, O-arylation of phenol, transfer hydrogenation of aldehydes and ketones, aldehyde-alkyne-amine (A3) coupling, hydration of nitriles, conversion of aldehydes to amides, cross-dehydrogenative coupling (CDC), photodegradation of substrates (formic acid, methylene blue), reduction of nitrophenols, electrolysis (hydrogen evolution reaction and oxygen reduction reactions), organocatalysis and dye sensitized solar cells] and relevant aspects of catalytic processes (such as recyclability, substrate scope and green aspects) have been critically analyzed. Future perspectives have also been discussed.
