Nickel-Catalyzed Electrophilic Amination of the Biphenylene C-C σ-Bond

A nickel-catalyzed three-component carboamination of the biphenylene C-C σ-bond has been developed. Arylboronates and hydroxylamine derivatives work as carbon nucleophiles and nitrogen electrophiles, respectively, and the corresponding difunctionalized ring-opening products are obtained in good yields. The arylboronate nucleophile can be replaced with B2pin2 (boron nucleophile) and H-Si(OMe)3 (hydride nucleophile), thus allowing for the aminoboration and hydroamination of the biphenylene C-C σ-bond under similar nickel catalysis.

Experimental and theoretical studies for corrosion of molybdenum electrode using streptomycin drug in phosphoric acid medium

Corrosion inhibition of molybdenum electrode in H₃PO₄ acid medium of different concentrations (3.0 to 13 M) has been investigated utilizing different electrochemical techniques. It was observed that the most corrosive concentration is 3.0 M orthophosphoric acid concentration. The effect of adding Cl^- to 3.0 M orthophosphoric acid in the concentration range of 0.1 to 1.0 M was also studied. This study showed that the most corrosive medium is 3.0 M containing 1.0 M chloride ion with the greatest rate of hydrogen production. In 3.0 M H₃PO₄ acid with 1.0 M of NaCl, the tested electrode's corrosion and hydrogen production may be successfully suppressed by adding Streptomycin of 10 mM concentration leading to high inhibition efficiency. The outcomes of the studies were confirmed by scanning electron microscopic examination. Additionally, a computational chemistry approach was used to investigate how streptomycin adsorbs and inhibits corrosion at the interface of metal surfaces, and the outcomes of the computational studies are in excellent accord with the experimental findings.

Controllable Activation of Pd-G3 Palladacycle Precatalyst in the Presence of Thiosugars: Rapid Access to 1-Aminobiphenyl Thioglycoside Atropoisomers at Room Temperature

A controllable method for the functionalization of XantPhos Pd-G3 precatalyst with thiosugars and thiols has been established. Under mild and operationally simple reaction conditions through just mixing of precatalyst and thiosugars (α- or β-mono-, di- and poly-thiosugar derivatives) in water at 25 °C for 20 min, a series of 1-aminobiphenyl thioglycosides that are difficult to synthesize by classical methods has been synthesized in very high yields.

Structure–property relationship in fluorene-based polymer films obtained by electropolymerization of 4,4′-(9-fluorenylidene)-dianiline

For the first time, the electropolymerization of 4,4′-(9-fluorenylidene)-dianiline and physico-chemical properties of the obtained polymer films are reported.
