Abstract
Catalytic enantioselective intermolecular C-H silylation offers an efficient approach for the rapid construction of chiral organosilicon compounds, but remains a significant challenge. Herein, a new type of chiral silyl ligand is developed, which enables the first iridium-catalyzed atroposelective intermolecular C-H silylation reaction of 2-arylisoquinolines. This protocol features mild reaction conditions, high atom economy, and remarkable yield with excellent stereoselectivity (up to 99 % yield, 99 % ee), delivering enantioenriched axially chiral silane platform molecules with facile convertibility. Key to the success of this unprecedented transformation relies on a novel chiral PSiSi-ligand, which facilitates the intermolecular C-H silylation process with perfect chem-, regio- and stereo-control via a multi-coordinated silyl iridium complex.

Abstract
Unsaturated 16-electron iridium and rhodium complexes bearing a silyl-bipyridine-based SiNN-pincer ligand (BpySiNN) were synthesised and characterised by X-ray crystallography and NMR spectroscopy. The iridium-BpySiNN complex facilitated the catalytic C(sp2)-H borylation of arenes to give arylboronate esters in high yields (≥93%) under mild conditions (∼40 °C).

Abstract
Reaction of water with in situ generated [(PSiP-R)IrI] (PSiP-R = [{2-(R2P)C6H4}2MeSi]-; R = cyclohexyl, tBu or iPr) from [(PSiP-R)Ir(H)4] and tert-butylethylene (tbe) showed high ligand dependency. Oxidative addition of water cleanly proceeded in the reaction of [(PSiP-tBu)IrI] in THF at room temperature to selectively afford a 16-electron hydrido-hydroxo complex [(PSiP- t Bu)Ir(H)(OH)] almost quantitatively. In contrast, the reaction of cyclohexyl and iPr derivatives was unselective and formed various products containing Ir-H bonds. In the case of iPr-derivative, a small amount of 18-electron hydrido-hydroxo aqua complex [(PSiP-iPr)Ir(H)(OH)(H2O)] was isolated and structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography.

Abstract
The synthesis and coordination chemistry of a new class of silyl pincer ligand featuring pyrrole-based linkers is reported. The steric and electronic properties of these bis(phosphinopyrrole)methylsilane ligands were interrogated using their palladium, rhodium, and platinum complexes. The pyrrole-based linker attenuates the donor ability of the ligand relative to its reported 1,2-phenylene congener while maintaining a similar steric profile. Additionally, the silyl donor connected to the N-pyrrolyl groups exhibits a weaker trans influence than the analogous ligand featuring 1,2-phenylene linkers.

Abstract
AbstractIridium-catalyzed C–H activation and borylation reactions operate under mild conditions that enable easy and atom-economical installation of the versatile boronate ester group in (het)arenes and alkanes. The standard catalytic system for iridium-catalyzed borylation uses [Ir(cod)(OMe)]2 as a precatalyst, a bipyridine type ligand, and B2pin2 or HBpin as the borylating agent. Initially, a bipyridine-ligated trisboryl–iridium complex is generated that enables the borylation reaction and the regioselectivity is mainly governed by the sterics of substituents present on the ring. As a result, monosubstituted and 1,2-disubstituted arenes give mixtures of isomers. Significant efforts by several research groups have overcome the selectivity issue for directed proximal C–H borylation by introducing a directing group and newly developed ligands. This short review aims to summarize recent elegant discoveries in directed C(sp2)–H and C(sp3)–H borylation by using heterobidentate ligand (P/N–Si, N–B, and N–C) coordinated iridium catalysts.1 Introduction2 Iridium-Catalyzed Directed C–H Borylation of C(sp2)–H Bonds3 Iridium-Catalyzed Directed C–H Borylation of C(sp3)–H Bonds4 Conclusions

Abstract
Three novel iron dinitrogen hydrides, [FeH(iPr-PSiMeP)(N2)(PMe3)] (1), [FeH(iPr-PSiPhP)(N2)(PMe3)] (2), and [FeH(iPr-PSiPh)(N2)(PMe3)] (3), supported by a silyl ligand are synthesized for the first time by changing the electronic effect and steric hindrance of the ligands through the reaction of ligands L1-L3 with Fe(PMe3)4 in a nitrogen atmosphere. The ligands containing an electron-donating group with large steric hindrance on the phosphorus atom are beneficial for the formation of dinitrogen complexes. A penta-coordinate iron hydride [FeH(iPr-PSiPh)(PMe3)2] (4) was formed through the reaction of ligand L3 with Fe(PMe3)4 in an argon atmosphere under the same conditions. The reactions between complexes 1-3 with an atmospheric pressure of dihydrogen gas resulted in Fe(II) dihydrides, [(iPr-PSiMe(μ-H)P)Fe(H)2(PMe3)] (5), [(iPr-PSiPh(μ-H)P)Fe(H)2(PMe3)] (6) and [(iPr-PSiPh(μ-H))Fe(H)2(PMe3)2] (7), with an η2-(Si-H) coordination. The isolation of dihydrides 5-7 demonstrates the ability of the dinitrogen complexes 1-3 to realize the activation of dihydrogen under ambient temperature and pressure. The molecular structures of complexes 1-7 were elucidated by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The iron dinitrogen hydrides 1-3 are effective catalysts for the silylation of dinitrogen under ambient conditions and among them 3 is the best catalyst.

Abstract
The Ir-Si bond distances reported for Ir-(fac-κ3-NSiNOPy) and Ir-(fac-κ3-NSiN4MeOPy) species (NSiNOPy = bis(pyridine-2-yloxy)methylsilyl and NSiN4MeOPy = bis(4-methyl-pyridine-2-yloxy)methylsily) are in the range of 2.220-2.235 Å. These values are in the lowest limit of the Ir-Si bond distances found in the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD). To understand the origin of such remarkable shortening, a computational study of the bonding situation of representative examples of Ir-(fac-κ3-NSiN) species has been carried out. It is found that the Ir-Si bond can be described as an electron-sharing (i.e. covalent) bond. Despite that, this bond is highly polarized and as a result, the contribution of the electrostatic attractions to the bonding is rather significant. Indeed, there exists a linear relationship (R2 = 0.97) between the Ir-Si bond distance and the extent of the computed electrostatic interactions, which indicates that the ionic contribution to the bonding is mainly responsible for the observed Ir-Si bond shortening.

Abstract
The saturated trihydride IrH3 {κ3 -P,O,P-[xant(PiPr2 )2 ]} (1; xant(PiPr2 )2 =9,9-dimethyl-4,5-bis(diisopropylphosphino)xanthene) activates the B-H bond of two molecules of pinacolborane (HBpin) to give H2 , the hydride-boryl derivatives IrH2 (Bpin){κ3 -P,O,P-[xant(PiPr2 )2 ]} (2) and IrH(Bpin)2 {κ3 -P,O,P-[xant(PiPr2 )2 ]} (3) in a sequential manner. Complex 3 activates a C-H bond of two molecules of benzene to form PhBpin and regenerates 2 and 1, also in a sequential manner. Thus, complexes 1, 2, and 3 define two cycles for the catalytic direct C-H borylation of arenes with HBpin, which have dihydride 2 as a common intermediate. C-H bond activation of the arenes is the rate-determining step of both cycles, as the C-H oxidative addition to 3 is faster than to 2. The results from a kinetic study of the reactions of 1 and 2 with HBpin support a cooperative function of the hydride ligands in the B-H bond activation. The addition of the boron atom of the borane to a hydride facilitates the coordination of the B-H bond through the formation of κ1 - and κ2 -dihydrideborate intermediates.

Abstract
Zeise's salt, [PtCl3 (H2 C=CH2 )]- , is the oldest known organometallic complex, featuring ethylene strongly bound to a platinum salt. Many derivatives are known, but none involving dinitrogen, and indeed dinitrogen complexes are unknown for both platinum and palladium. Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry of K2 [PtCl4 ] solutions generate strong ions corresponding to [PtCl3 (N2 )]- , the identity of which was confirmed through ion-mobility spectrometry and MS/MS experiments that proved it to be distinct from its isobaric counterparts [PtCl3 (C2 H4 )]- and [PtCl3 (CO)]- . Computational analysis established a gas-phase platinum-dinitrogen bond strength of 116 kJ mol-1 , substantially weaker than the ethylene and carbon monoxide analogues but stronger than for polar solvents such as water, methanol and dimethylformamide, and strong enough that the calculated N-N bond length of 1.119 Å represents weakening to a degree typical of isolated dinitrogen complexes.

Abstract
The synthesis and characterization of a series of silyl hydrido iron complexes bearing a pincer-type [PSiP] ligand (2-R2PC6H4)2SiH2 (R = Ph (1) and iPr (5)) or (2-Ph2PC6H4)2SiMeH (2) were reported. Preligand 1 reacted with Fe(PMe3)4 to afford complex ((2-Ph2PC6H4)SiH)Fe(H)(PMe3)2 (3) in toluene, which was structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction. ((2-iPr2PC6H4)SiH)Fe(H)(PMe3) (6) could be obtained from the reaction of preligand 5 with Fe(PMe3)4 in toluene. Furthermore, complex ((2-iPr2PC6H4)Si(OMe))Fe(H)(PMe3) (7) was isolated by the reaction of complex 6 with 2 equiv. MeOH in THF. The molecular structure of complex 7 was also determined by single-crystal X-ray analysis. Complexes 3, 4, 6 and 7 showed good to excellent catalytic activity for transfer hydrogenation of aldehydes under mild conditions, using 2-propanol as both solvent and hydrogen donor. α,β-Unsaturated aldehydes could be selectively reduced to corresponding α,β-unsaturated alcohols. The catalytic activity of penta-coordinate complex 6 or 7 is stronger than that of hexa-coordinate complex 3 or 4. The synthesis and characterization of a series of silyl hydrido iron complexes bearing a [PSiP] pincer ligand were reported. These complexes showed good to excellent catalytic activity for transfer hydrogenation of aldehydes under mild conditions.![]()

Abstract
An efficient, regioselective synthesis of fluorine-substituted arylboronic esters was achieved through fluorine-controlled C-H borylation of arenes with diboron catalyzed by a PSiN-platinum complex. The promising utility of the PSiN-platinum catalyst and its unique regioselectivity were demonstrated for the first time, which would complement the well-developed Ir-catalyzed C-H borylation.

Abstract
The PSiP pincer-supported complex ((Cy)PSiP)PdH [(Cy)PSiP = Si(Me)(2-PCy2-C6H4)2] has been implicated as a crucial intermediate in carboxylation of both allenes and boranes. At this stage, however, there is uncertainty regarding the exact structure of ((Cy)PSiP)PdH, especially in solution. Previously, both a Pd(II) structure with a terminal Pd hydride and a Pd(0) structure featuring an η(2)-silane have been proposed. In this contribution, a range of techniques were used to establish that ((Cy)PSiP)PdH and the related Pt species, ((Cy)PSiP)PtH, are true M(II) hydrides in both the solid state and solution. The single-crystal X-ray structures of ((Cy)PSiP)MH (M = Pd and Pt) and the related species ((iPr)PSiP)PdH [(iPr)PSiP = Si(Me)(2-P(i)Pr2-C6H4)2] are in agreement with the presence of a terminal metal hydride, and the exact geometry of ((Cy)PSiP)PtH was confirmed using neutron diffraction. The (1)H and (29)Si{(1)H}NMR chemical shifts of ((Cy)PSiP)MH (M = Pd and Pt) are consistent with a structure containing a terminal hydride, especially when compared to the chemical shifts of related pincer-supported complexes. In fact, in this work, two general trends relating to the (1)H NMR chemical shifts of group 10 pincer-supported terminal hydrides were elucidated: (i) the hydride shift moves downfield from Ni to Pd to Pt and (ii) the hydride shift moves downfield with more trans-influencing pincer central donors. DFT calculations indicate that structures containing a M(II) hydride are lower in energy than the corresponding η(2)-silane isomers. Furthermore, the calculated NMR chemical shifts of the M(II) hydrides using a relativistic four-component methodology incorporating all significant scalar and spin-orbit corrections are consistent with those observed experimentally. Finally, in situ X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) was used to provide further support that ((Cy)PSiP)MH exist as M(II) hydrides in solution.
