Abstract
Since the development of metallopolymers, there has been tremendous interest in the applications of this type of materials. The interest in these materials stems from their potential use in industry as catalysts, biomedical agents in healthcare, energy storage and production as well as climate change mitigation. The past two decades have clearly shown exponential growth in the development of many new classes of metallopolymers that address these issues. Today, metallopolymers are considered to be at the forefront for discovering new and sustainable heterogeneous catalysts, therapeutics for drug-resistant diseases, energy storage and photovoltaics, molecular barometers and thermometers, as well as carbon dioxide sequesters. The focus of this review is to highlight the advances in design of metallopolymers with specific sustainable applications.

Abstract
Conjugated poly-ynes and poly(metalla-ynes) constitute an important class of new materials with potential application in various domains of science. The key factors responsible for the diverse usage of these materials is their intriguing and tunable chemical and photophysical properties. This review highlights fascinating advances made in the field of conjugated organic poly-ynes and poly(metalla-ynes) incorporating group 4-11 metals. This includes several important aspects of conjugated poly-ynes viz. synthetic protocols, bonding, electronic structure, nature of luminescence, structure-property relationships, diverse applications, and concluding remarks. Furthermore, we delineated the future directions and challenges in this particular area of research.

Abstract
Two organometallic ligands L1 (trans-[p-MeSC6H4C≡C-Pt(PR3)2-C≡CC6H4SMe; R = Me]) and L2 (R = Et) react with CuX salts (X = Cl, Br, I) in MeCN to form one-dimensional (1D) or two-dimensional (2D) coordination polymers (CPs). The clusters formed with copper halide can either be step cubane Cu4I4, rhomboids Cu2X2, or simply CuI. The formed CPs with L1, which is less sterically demanding than L2, exhibit a crystallization solvent molecule (MeCN), whereas those formed with L2 do not incorporate MeCN molecules in the lattice. These CPs were characterized by X-ray crystallography, thermogravimetric analysis, IR, Raman, absorption, and emission spectra as well as photophysical measurements in the presence and absence of crystallization MeCN molecules for those CPs with the solvent in the lattice (i.e., [(Cu4I4)L1·MeCN] n (CP1), [(Cu2Br2)L1·2MeCN] n (CP3), and [(Cu2Cl2)L1·MeCN] n (CP5)). The crystallization molecules were removed under vacuum to evaluate the porosity of the materials by Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (N2 at 77 K). The 2D CP shows a reversible type 1 adsorption isotherm for both CO2 and N2, indicative of microporosity, whereas the 1D CPs do not capture more solvent molecules or CO2.

Abstract
Phosphorescent platinum(ii) alkynyls. Phosphorescent trans-bis(alkynyl) bis(phosphine) or bis(cyanide) PtII derivatives (1–4) based on the 2-phenylbenzothiazole unit have been prepared. The negative solvatochromic behavior of 4 has been analyzed by the Kamlet–Taft solvent scale and the Gutmann's acceptor numbers. The optical properties were addressed by TD and DFT calculations on 2 and 4.

Abstract
The incorporation of metal centers into the backbone of polymers has led to the development of a broad range of organometallic and coordination compounds featuring properties that are relevant for potential applications in diverse areas of research, ranging from energy storage/conversion to bioactive or self-healing materials. In this review, the basic concepts and synthetic strategies leading to these types of materials as well as the scope of available characterization techniques will be summarized and discussed.

Abstract
Four new solution-processible small-molecular platinum(II)-bis(aryleneethynylene) complexes consisting of benzothiadiazole as the electron acceptor and triphenylamine and/or thiophene as the electron donor were conveniently synthesized and characterized by physicochemical and computational methods, and utilized as the electron-donor materials in the fabrication of solution-processed bulk heterojunction (BHJ) solar cells. The effect of different electron-donor groups in these small molecules on the optoelectronic and photovoltaic properties was also examined. The optical and time-dependent density functional theory studies showed that the incorporation of stronger electron-donor groups significantly enhanced the solar-absorption abilities of the complexes. These molecular complexes can serve as good electron donors for fabricating BHJ devices by blending them with the [6,6]-phenyl-C(71)-butyric acid methyl ester (PC(70)BM) as the electron acceptor. The best power conversion efficiency of 2.37% was achieved with the open-circuit voltage of 0.83 V, short-circuit current density of 7.10 mA cm(-2) and fill factor of 0.40 under illumination of an AM 1.5 solar-cell simulator. The spin-coated thin films showed p-channel field-effect charge transport with hole mobilities of up to 2.4×10(-4) cm(2) V(-1) s(-1) for these molecules. The present work illuminates the potential of well-defined organometallic complexes in developing light-harvesting small molecules for efficient power generation in organic photovoltaics implementation.
