Abstract
A series of siloxane-containing phosphine (oxide) ligands have been designed and synthesized. These phosphine (oxide) ligands contain silicon atoms, which can impart better solubility in the relevant media, thereby improving certain catalytic performances. The hydrosilylation of olefins catalyzed by these metal phosphine (oxide) complexes has been conducted under mild reaction conditions.

Abstract
A supramolecularly tunable chiral bisphosphine ligand bearing two pyridyl-containing crown ethers, (-) or (+)-Xyl-P16C6-Phos, was fabricated and utilized in the Rh-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of α-dehydroamino acid esters and Ir-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of quinolines in high yields with excellent enantioselectivities (90-99% ee). Up to a 22% enhancement in enantioselectivity was achieved by the addition of certain amounts of alkali ions (Li+, Na+ or K+), which could be selectively recognized and effectively complexed by the crown ethers on the chiral Xyl-P16C6-Phos.

Abstract
Metal and ligand free chemoselective reduction of keto group and complete reduction of the both keto and amide groups of α-keto amide with hydrosilanes using tetrabutylammoniumflouride (TBAF) as catalyst have been accomplished. This methodology affords an efficient and economic route for the synthesis of biologically important α-hydroxy amides and β-amino alcohols.

Abstract
A chemoselective method for the hydrosilylation of ketones has been developed, using the combination of triphenylsilane and a catalyst prepared from Ni(COD)2 and the simple N-heterocyclic carbene IMes. The most notable feature of this method is that free hydroxyls are largely unaffected, thus providing a simple one-step procedure for the conversion of hydroxyketones to mono-protected diols, wherein the protecting group is exclusively installed on the ketone-derived hydroxyl. The process is typically high yielding with both simple ketones and more complex hydroxyketone substrates.
