Abstract
Soft ferroelectrics based on organic and organic-inorganic hybrid materials have gained much interest among researchers owing to their electrically programmable and remnant polarization. This allows for the development of numerous flexible, foldable, and stretchable nonvolatile memories, when combined with various crystal engineering approaches to optimize their performance. Soft ferroelectrics have been recently considered to have an important role in the emerging human-connected electronics that involve diverse photoelectronic elements, particularly those requiring precise programmable electric fields, such as tactile sensors, synaptic devices, displays, photodetectors, and solar cells for facile human-machine interaction, human safety, and sustainability. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the recent developments in soft ferroelectric materials with an emphasis on their ferroelectric switching principles and their potential application in human-connected intelligent electronics. Based on the origins of ferroelectric atomic and/or molecular switching, the soft ferroelectrics are categorized into seven subgroups. In this review, the efficiency of soft ferroelectrics with their distinct ferroelectric characteristics utilized in various human-connected electronic devices with programmable electric field is demonstrated. This review inspires further research to utilize the remarkable functionality of soft electronics.

Abstract
In this work, a multifunctional microporous metal–organic framework (MOF), [Cd(ABTC)(H2O)2(DMA)]·4DMA (JLNU-4; JLNU = Jilin Normal University; H4ABTC = 3,3′,5,5′-azobenzenetetracarboxylic acid), has been synthesized based on the ligand H4ABTC under solvothermal conditions. JLNU-4 shows excellent uptake of iodine both in solution and in the vapor phase, owing to the existence of a microporous structure in JLNU-4. The adsorption kinetics during the process of iodine adsorption were analyzed via a series of qualitative and quantitative analyses, such as the Langmuir and Freündlich adsorption isotherms. In addition, according to UV/vis spectroscopy analysis and the colour variance of JLNU-4, the relatively small sized dye methylene blue (MB) could be efficiently adsorbed by JLNU-4, through size-exclusion effects. Particularly, JLNU-4 can serve as a column-chromatographic filler for the separation of dye molecules. Therefore, JLNU-4 is a multifunctional microporous MOF for iodine adsorption and column-chromatographic dye separation. JLNU-4 shows excellent uptake of iodine and could selectively adsorb dyes; therefore it can be used for column-chromatographic dye separation.![]()

Abstract
A new homochiral multifunctional metal-organic framework, [Zn2(CTBA)2·H2O] (JUC-112), was synthesized under solvothermal conditions, through the design of chiral ligand 4-(3-carboxy-2,2,3-trimethylcyclopentanecarboxamido) benzoic acid (H2CTBA) based on camphoric acid as building block. The crystal structure of the new material is a 2-dimensional (2D) chiral layer packed with infinite rod-shaped secondary building units (SBUs). The homochiral framework was identified by circular dichroism (CD) spectrum. Thermogravimetric measurement indicates its high thermal stability up to 450 °C. In addition, JUC-112 exhibits the capability of separating water from alcohols, second-order nonlinear optical effect, and photoluminescence.
