Abstract
Porous materials with their ordered bicontinuous structures have attracted great interest owing to ordered periodic structures as well as 3D interconnected network and pore channels. Bicontinuous structures may favor efficient mass diffusion to the interior of materials, thus increasing the utilization ratio of active sites. In addition, ordered bicontinuous structures confer materials with exceptional optical and magnetic properties, including tunable photonic bandgap, negative refraction, and multiple equivalent magnetization configurations. The attractive structural advantages and physical properties have inspired people to develop strategies for preparing bicontinuous-structured porous materials. Among a few synthetic approaches, the self-assembly of block copolymers represents a versatile strategy to prepare various bicontinuous-structured functional materials with pore sizes and lattice parameters ranging from 1 to 500 nm. This article overviews progress in this appealing area, with an emphasis on the synthetic strategies, the structural control (including topologies, pore sizes, and unit cell parameters), and their potential applications in energy storage and conversion, metamaterials, photonic crystals, cargo delivery and release, nanoreactors, and biomolecule selection.

Abstract
Noble metal nanomaterials with special physical and chemical properties have attracted considerable attention in the past decades. In particular, Au nanocrystals (NCs), which possess high chemical inertness and unique surface plasmon resonance (SPR), have attracted extensive research interest. In this study, we review the properties and preparation of Au NCs with different morphologies as well as their important applications in biological detection. The preparation of Au NCs with different shapes by many methods such as seed-mediated growth method, seedless synthesis, polyol process, ultrasonic method, and hydrothermal treatment has already been introduced. In the seed-mediated growth method, the influence factors in determining the final shape of Au NCs are discussed. Au NCs, which show significant size-dependent color differences are proposed for preparing biological probes to detect biomacromolecules such as DNA and protein, while probe conjugate molecules serves as unique coupling agents with a target. Particularly, Au nanorods (NRs) have some unique advantages in the application of biological probes and photothermal cancer therapy compared to Au nanoparticles (NPs).

Abstract
In recent years, gold nanoparticles (GNPs) have gradually become a major choice of drug delivery cargoes due to unique properties. Compared to traditional bulk solid gold, GNPs have basic physical and chemical advantages, such as a larger surface area-to-volume ratio and easier surface
modification. Furthermore, these have excellent biocompatibility, can induce the directional adsorption and enrichment of biological macromolecules, help retain biological macromolecule activity, and cause low harm to the human body. All these make GNPs good drug delivery cargoes. The present
study introduces the properties of GNPs, including factors that affect the properties and synthesis. Then, focus was given on the application in drug delivery, not only on the molecular mechanism, but also on the clinical application. Furthermore, the properties and applications of peptide
GNPs were also introduced. Finally, the challenges and prospects of GNPs for drug delivery were summarized.

Abstract
An electron-assisted strategy was developed to prepare gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) at room temperature. Glow discharge plasma as electron source was successfully used to control the valence state, size, and shape of AuNPs. Stable Au(I) was obtained in 3 min by plasma, and Au(I) was reduced to zero valence with the increase in treatment time. An increase in the amount of Au did not induce an increase in particle size. A narrow size distribution was also achieved. The narrowest size distribution was observed at 9 min at 600 V. AuNPs grew slowly under glow discharge plasma, which slightly changed the mean size of AuNPs. Moreover, the average size of AuNPs was smaller under alkaline conditions. The initial pH of the solution can affect the nucleation and growth of AuNPs and further affect their particle size. Spherical AuNPs, hexagonal AuNPs, rectangular AuNPs, flower-shaped AuNPs, and Au nanorods were easily obtained within 30 min by adding different additives. The hexagonal AuNPs exhibited the largest current response toward caffeine and showed a good linear range (0.1-1000 μM) with a low detection limit (0.064 μM), because their high-energy planes can increase the electron transfer rate and improve electrocatalytic activity.

Ionic Liquid-Modulated Synthesis of Porous Worm-Like Gold with Strong SERS Response and Superior Catalytic Activities. NANOMATERIALS 2019; 9:nano9121772. Abstract
Porous gold with well-defined shape and size have aroused extensive research enthusiasm due to their prominent properties in various applications. However, it is still a great challenge to explore a simple, green, and low-cost route to fabricate porous gold with a “clean” surface. In this work, porous worm-like Au has been easily synthesized in a one-step procedure from aqueous solution at room temperature under the action of ionic liquid tetrapropylammonium glycine ([N3333][Gly]). It is shown that the as-prepared porous worm-like Au has the length from 0.3 to 0.6 μm and the width of approximately 100–150 nm, and it is composed of lots of small nanoparticles about 6–12 nm in diameter. With rhodamine 6G (R6G) as a probe molecule, porous worm-like Au displays remarkable surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) sensitivity (detection limit is lower than 10−13 M), and extremely high reproducibility (average relative standard deviations is less than 2%). At the same time, owing to significantly high specific surface area, various pore sizes and plenty of crystal defects, porous worm-like Au also exhibits excellent catalytic performance in the reduction of nitroaromatics, such as p-nitrophenol and p-nitroaniline, which can be completely converted within only 100 s and 150 s, respectively. It is expected that the as-prepared porous worm-like Au with porous and self-supported structures will also present the encouraging advances in electrocatalysis, sensing, and many others.
