Abstract
Detection of nitro pollutants is an important topic in environmental protection. A total of 3 Cd (II) complexes (1-3) based on 3 soft organic isomers, n-(3,5-dicarboxylato benzyloxy) benzoic acid (n = 2, 3 or 4-H3DBB), and a linear N-donor ligand, 3-bis(imidazole-l-ylmethyl) benzene (3-bibz), have been synthesized hydrothermally. Structural diversity of Complexes 1-3 displays the architectural 2D or 3D change: Complex 1 exhibits a 2D network featuring tri-nuclear metal units, Complex 2 is a 3D framework based on similar tri-nuclear metal units, and Complex 3 shows a 3D network with binuclear units. Fluorescent sensing properties exhibited in all these complexes have been discovered to detect nitrobenzene (NB) selectively and sensitively. In particular, Complex 3 possesses high sensitivity for NB with the lowest detection limit of 1.15 × 10-10 M. The results of the theoretical calculation verified the fluorescence detection mechanism of NB by these Cd-based complexes. Therefore, these Cd-based complexes might be used as excellent luminescent sensors for NB.

Abstract
The achievement of photocatalytic CO2 and epoxide cycloaddition under mild conditions such as room temperature and atmospheric pressure is important for green chemistry, which can be achieved by developing coordination synergies between catalysts and photosensitizers. In this context, we exploit the use of coordinate bonds to connect pyridine-appended iridium photosensitizers and catalysts for CO2 cycloaddition, which is systematically demonstrated by 1H nuclear magnetic resonance titration and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic measurements. It is shown that the hybrid Ir(Cltpy)2/Mn2Cd4 photocatalytic system with coordination synergy exhibits excellent catalytic performance (yield ≈ 98.2%), which is 3.75 times higher than that of the comparative Ir(Cltpy-Ph)2/Mn2Cd4 system without coordination synergy (yield ≈ 26.2%), under mild conditions. The coordination between the Mn2Cd4 catalyst and the Ir(Cltpy)2 photosensitizer enhances the light absorption and photoresponse properties of the Mn2Cd4 catalyst. This has been confirmed through transient photocurrent, electrochemical impedance, and electron paramagnetic tests. Consequently, the efficiency of cycloaddition was enhanced by utilizing mild conditions.

Abstract
In the past two decades, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) or porous coordination polymers (PCPs) assembled from metal ions or clusters and organic linkers via metal-ligand coordination bonds have captivated significant scientific interest on account of their high crystallinity, exceptional porosity, and tunable pore size, high modularity, and diverse functionality. The opportunity to achieve functional porous materials by design with promising properties, unattainable for solid-state materials in general, distinguishes MOFs from other classes of materials, in particular, traditional porous materials such as activated carbon, silica, and zeolites, thereby leading to complementary properties. Scientists have conducted intense research in the production of chiral MOF (CMOF) materials for specific applications including but not limited to chiral recognition, separation, and catalysis since the discovery of the first functional CMOF (i.e., d- or l-POST-1). At present, CMOFs have become interdisciplinary between chirality chemistry, coordination chemistry, and material chemistry, which involve in many subjects including chemistry, physics, optics, medicine, pharmacology, biology, crystal engineering, environmental science, etc. In this review, we will systematically summarize the recent progress of CMOFs regarding design strategies, synthetic approaches, and cutting-edge applications. In particular, we will highlight the successful implementation of CMOFs in asymmetric catalysis, enantioselective separation, enantioselective recognition, and sensing. We envision that this review will provide readers a good understanding of CMOF chemistry and, more importantly, facilitate research endeavors for the rational design of multifunctional CMOFs and their industrial implementation.

Abstract
Six hybrid uranyl-transition metal compounds [UO2 Ni(cptpy)2 (HCOO)2 (DMF)(H2 O)] (1), [UO2 Ni(cptpy)2 (BTPA)2 ] (2), [UO2 Fe(cptpy)2 (HCOO)2 (DMF)(H2 O)] (3), [UO2 Fe(cptpy)2 (BTPA)2 ] (4), [UO2 Co(cptpy)2 (HCOO)2 (DMF)(H2 O)] (5), and [UO2 Co(cptpy)2 (BTPA)2 ] (6), based on bifunctional ligand 4'-(4-carboxyphenyl)-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine (Hcptpy) are reported (H2 BTPA = 4,4'-biphenyldicarboxylic acid). Single-crystal XRD revealed that all six compounds feature similar metalloligands, which consist of two cptpy- anions and one transition metal cation. The metalloligand M(cptpy)2 can be considered to be an extended linear dicarboxylic ligand with length of 22.12 Å. Compounds 1, 3, and 5 are isomers, and all of them feature 1D chain structures. The adjacent 1D chains are connected together by hydrogen bonds and π-π interactions to form a 3D porous structure, which is filled with solvent molecules and can be exchanged with I2 . Compounds 2, 4, and 6 are also isomers, and all of them feature 2D honeycomb (6,3) networks with hexagonal units of dimensions 41.91×26.89 Å, which are the largest among uranyl compounds with honeycomb networks. The large aperture allows two sets of equivalent networks to be entangled together to result in a 2D+2D→3D polycatenated framework. Remarkably, these uranyl compounds exhibit high catalytic activity for cycloaddition of carbon dioxide. Moreover, the geometric and electronic structures of compounds 1 and 2 are systematically discussed on the basis of DFT calculations.

Abstract
The FeIII ion as a ubiquitous metal plays a key role in biochemical processes. Iron deficiency or excess in the human body can induce various diseases. Thus, effective detection of the FeIII ion has been deemed an issue of focus. To develop more crystalline chemical sensors for the selective detection of Fe3+, two novel two-dimensional (2D) coordination polymers, namely, poly[[[μ-bis(pyridin-4-yl)amine-κ2N:N'](μ-naphthalene-2,6-dicarboxylato-κ2O2:O6)zinc(II)] 0.5-hydrate], {[Zn(C12H6O4)(C10H9N3)]·0.5H2O}n, 1, and poly[(4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine-κ2N,N')(μ-naphthalene-2,6-dicarboxylato-κ2O2:O6)hemi(μ-naphthalene-2,6-dicarboxylic acid-κ2O2:O6)copper(II)] [Cu(C12H6O4)(C12H12N2)(C12H8O4)0.5]n, 2, have been prepared using solvothermal methods. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis shows that compound 1 is an undulating twofold interpenetrated 2D (4,4)-sql network and compound 2 is a twofold interpenetrated 2D honeycomb-type network with a (6,3)-hcb topology. In addition, 1 exhibits highly selective sensing for the Fe3+ ion.

Abstract
A novel coordination polymer (CP) was constructed using 1,3-bis(4-carboxyphenoxy) propane (H2bcp), 1,4-bis(1-imidazol-yl)-2,5-dimethyl benzene (bimb), and NiII ions. [Ni(bcp)(bimb)]·H2O]n (1) shows an interesting 2D+2D → 3D inclined polyrotaxane topology. The structure was characterised by many methods. This work indicates that the flexible and neutral pyridine ligand plays a significant role in constructing CPs. Furthermore, 1 is a highly efficient catalyst for the reaction of CO2 and epoxides.

Abstract
Five different imidazolium-based ionic liquids (ILs) were incorporated into a metal-organic framework (MOF), MIL-53(Al), to investigate the effect of IL incorporation on the CO2 separation performance of MIL-53(Al). CO2 , CH4 , and N2 adsorption isotherms of the IL/MIL-53(Al) composites and pristine MIL-53(Al) were measured to evaluate the effect of the ILs on the CO2 /CH4 and CO2 /N2 selectivities of the MOF. Of the composite materials that were tested, [BMIM][PF6 ]/MIL-53(Al) exhibited the largest increase in CO2 /CH4 selectivity, 2.8-times higher than that of pristine MIL-53(Al), whilst [BMIM][MeSO4 ]/MIL-53(Al) exhibited the largest increase in CO2 /N2 selectivity, 3.3-times higher than that of pristine MIL-53(Al). A comparison of the CO2 separation potentials of the IL/MOF composites showed that the [BMIM][BF4 ]- and [BMIM][PF6 ]-incorporated MIL-53(Al) composites both showed enhanced CO2 /N2 and CO2 /CH4 selectivities at pressures of 1-5 bar compared to composites of CuBTC and ZIF-8 with the same ILs. These results demonstrate that MIL-53(Al) is a versatile platform for IL/MOF composites and could help to guide the rational design of new composites for target gas-separation applications.
