Abstract
A new mesoporous Mn(II)-MOF [Mn2(phen)2(nia)2]∞ with 4-c uninodal net topology and reiterating rectangular channels in its cargo-net like extension was synthesized using π-conjugated phenanthroline (phen) and syn-syn bridging 5-nitroisopthalic acid (nia) linkers. The MOF (1) exhibited phase purity, uniform morphology, photo and thermal stability, and robustness; duly triggered by the exceptional framework rigidity via intermolecular H-bonding and interlayer π-π stacking interactions. The bright-blue luminescence of the MOF nano-dispersion was explored for sensitive, specific and ultrafast detection of trinitrophenol (TNP) with extremely low LOD (90.62 nM), high KSV (18.27×104 M-1) and Kq (4×1014 M-1s-1). The vapor-phase TNP sensing was also accomplished. Additionally, 1 served towards discriminatory, aqueous-phase monitoring of Cr(VI)-oxoanions, depicting LODs: 36.08 and 35.70 ppb; KSV: 3.46×104 and 4.87×104 M-1; Kq: 3.26×1013 M-1s-1 and 4.31×1013 M-1s-1; and response time: 32 and 40s for CrO4 2- and Cr2O7 2- respectively. The quenching mechanisms (i. e., RET, PET, IFE, weak interactions, collisional quenching and π⋅⋅⋅π stacking) was explained from several experimental investigations and theoretical DFT calculations. The recyclable sensing events and quantification from complex environmental matrices with admirable recovery rates and high KSV (13.02-22.44×104; ~6.31-10.98×104 and ~6.60-11.42×104 M-1 for TNP, CrO4 2- and Cr2O7 2-) undoubtedly advocated the consistency of the probe.

Abstract
For the development of acid-responsive advanced fluorescent films with a 2D nanostructure, a pyridyl cyanostilbene-based AIEgen (PCRM) is newly synthesized. The synthesized PCRM exhibits aggregation-induced emission (AIE) and responds reversibly to acid and base stimuli. To fabricate the nanoporous polymer-stabilized film, PCRM and 4-(octyloxy)benzoic acid (8OB) are complexed in a 1:1 ratio through hydrogen bonding. The PCRM-8OB complex with a smectic mesophase is uniaxially oriented at first and photopolymerized with a crosslinker. By subsequently removing 8OB in an alkaline solution, nanopores are generated in the self-assembled and polymerized hierarchical 2D nanostructure film. The prepared nanoporous fluorescent films exhibit not only the reversible response to acid and base stimuli but also mechanical and chemical robustness. Since the nanoporous fluorescent films have different sensitivities to trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) depending on the molecular orientation in the film, advanced acid vapor sensors that can display the risk level according to the concentration of TFA are demonstrated. Reactive AIEgens-based hierarchical nanostructure films with nanopores fabricated by a subsequent process of self-assembly, polymerization, and etching can open a new door for the development of advanced chemosensors.

Abstract
An exceptional Zinc(II)-organic framework with the formula [{Zn(L4-py)(bdc)}·DMF]n (Zn-MOF) has been constructed solvothermally using a novel linker L4-py {2,7-bis(3-(pyridin-4-ylethynyl)phenyl)benzo[lmn][3,8]phenanthroline-1,3,6,8(2H,7H)-tetraone}, coligand H2bdc (1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid), and ZnBF4·xH2O. The ligand L4-py has been fabricated after functionalization of NDA (1,4,5,8-naphthalenetetracarboxylic dianhydride) core with 3-(pyridin-4-ylethynyl)phenyl group. The single-crystal X-ray analysis reveals that Zn-MOF exhibits a comprehensive three-dimensional (3D) framework architecture and features (4)-connected uninodal dia; 4/6/c1; sqc6 topology with point symbol {66} and two-dimensional (2D) + 2D, parallel polycatenation. Notably, Zn-MOF displayed excellent fluorescence phenomenon and stability in water as well as in methanol solvents and was harnessed as a versatile sensor, demonstrating selective and sensitive molecular recognition of flame retardants and antibiotics. Notably, Zn-MOF displayed 57 and 49.5% quenching efficiency for the flame-retardant pentabromophenol (PBP) and 3,3',5,5'-tetrabromobisphenol A (TBPA), respectively. Whereas an outstanding 90% quenching efficiency was observed for antibiotics, tetracycline (TC) and secnidazole (SD). The mechanistic investigations of this luminescence quenching suggest that this might be primarily occurring via the Fourier resonance energy transfer (FRET) and photoinduced electron transfer (PET) mechanisms, which might be assisted by the competitive absorption and host-guest interactions. The π-electron-rich framework structure of sensor Zn-MOF activates this mechanism.

Abstract
With increasing demand for public security and environmental protection, it is highly desirable to develop strategies to identify trace explosives (e. g., 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT)). Herein, we report novel photonic crystal (PC)-based sensor chips for trace TNT detection by using amplification effect of PCs on fluorescence (FL) signals. The sensor chips are constructed by integrating silica nanoparticles (NPs) modified with (3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane (APTES) and fluorescein isothiocyanate isomer (FITC) and PC substrates. The amino groups on FITC-APTES-silica NPs can specifically bind with TNT molecules to form Meisenheimer complexes and strongly quench the FL signal of neighboring fluorophores FITC through Förster resonance energy transfer. PCs with matched PBG can amplify the FL signal of FITC-APTES-silica NPs about 24.4-fold and significantly improve sensitivity and resolution of trace TNT detection with the limit of detection of 0.23 nM. The PC-based sensor chips are stable, sensitive, and reliable TNT sensing platforms, showing great potential in homeland safety and environmental protection.

Abstract
In this work, an efficient visible light promoted aerobic dehydro-coupling of amines, oxidation of thioethers and hydroxylation of arylboronic acids under benign conditions by using pyrene-based donor-acceptor (D-A) conjugated organic molecules was described. Donor-acceptor structure influences their π-conjugation and band gap a lot, and thereby enhances their visible light absorption ability, single electron transfer and oxidative behaviors. Alkynyl units in PS-IV play a crucial role in the catalyst which could serve as electron transferring bridge to strengthen electron delocalization, thus facilitating the single electron transfer from photosensitizer to substrates, and making it an efficient ⋅O2 - generator. While PS-III without alkynyl units tends to produce 1 O2 . Therefore, these molecules can serve as efficient catalysts for different kinds of visible-light-induced aerobic organic reactions. More importantly, the simply structured molecule is insoluble and stable in various solvents, and thus could be recycled as heterogeneous catalyst for many rounds with slight catalytic activity degradation. Besides, large scale (1 mol) reaction of benzylamine coupling proceeded smoothly under the standard conditions.

Abstract
A fluorescent porous organic polymer (FPOP) with strong fluorescence and tunable emission colors, was synthesized through a simple cost-effective method via Scholl coupling reaction. Experiments proved the stability and excellent detection and adsorption ability, and microporous nature of the material. Luminescence of FPOP was quenched when addition of nitroaromatic compounds. The properties along with large-scale and low-cost preparation make these FPOP potential candidates for fluorescence detection of nitroaromatic compounds. Additionally, FPOP shows higher adsorption capacity and rate than other reported adsorbents, and has the possibility of being an effective adsorbent for industrial usage. Moreover, a fluorescent test paper was further developed and is found to be sensitive to 10-8 M level, complete with a rapid response time and visual detection. This newly developed strategy may open up an avenue for exploring porous polymers, particularly those with a strong fluorescence, for the large-scale fabrication of FPOP for various advanced applications.

Abstract
Synthesis and structural depiction of two new metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), namely, [{Zn(L)(oba)}·4H2O]α (Zn-MOF-1) and [{Cd1/2(L)1/2(nipa)1/2(H2O)1/2}·(DMF)1/2(H2O)]α (Cd-MOF-2) (where L = N2,N6-di(pyridin-4-yl)naphthalene-2,6-dicarboxamide, 4,4'-H2oba = 4,4'-oxybisbenzoic acid, and 5-H2nipa = 5-nitroisophthalic acid) are reported. Both Zn-MOF-1 and Cd-MOF-2 have been prepared by reacting ligand L and coligand 4,4'-H2oba or 5-H2nipa with the respective dihydrates of Zn(OAc)2 and Cd(OAc)2 (OAc = acetate). Crystal structure X-ray analysis discloses that Zn-MOF-1 displays an overall 2D → 3D interpenetrated framework structure. The topological analysis by ToposPro suggests a (4)-connected uninodal sql topology with a point symbol of {44·62} having 2D + 2D parallel polycatenation. However, crystal packing of Cd-MOF-2 adapted a porous framework architecture and was topologically simplified as (3,4)-connected binodal 2D net. In addition, both Zn-MOF-1 and Cd-MOF-2 were proved to be multifunctional materials for the recognition of organic amines and in the fixation of CO2 to cyclic carbonates. Remarkably, Zn-MOF-1 and Cd-MOF-2 showed very good fluorescence stability in aqueous media and have shown 98 and 97% quenching efficiencies, respectively, for 4-aminobenzoic acid (4-ABA), among all of the researched amines. The mechanistic study of organic amines recognition proposed that fluorescence quenching happened mainly through hydrogen-bonding and π-π stacking interactions. Additionally, cycloaddition of CO2 to epoxide in the presence of Zn-MOF-1 and Cd-MOF-2 afforded up to 96% of cyclic carbonate within 24 h. Both Zn-MOF-1 and Cd-MOF-2 exhibited recyclability for up to five cycles without noticing an appreciable loss in their sensing or catalytic efficiency.
