Abstract
A new in-syringe membrane SPE and solid-phase visible spectral method was proposed for the rapid extraction and visible spectral determination of trace Cu2+. The chelation and membrane SPE can be accomplished in a syringe. The yellow Cu(DDTC)2 complex was separated using a polyethersulfone membrane from the sample solution. Then, the complex can be detected directly on the polyethersulfone membrane utilizing solid-phase visible absorbance spectra without elution. The proposed method simplified the experimental procedure and improved the sensitivity to the μg L-1 level. Furthermore, this method is environmentally friendly since it avoids the use of organic solvents. After the investigation of the influence of different variables on the membrane SPE procedure, water and blood plasma were analyzed to validate the proposed method. A LOD of 0.04 μg L-1 and recoveries of 96.0-103.7% confirmed that the present work can be applied for the determination of trace Cu2+ in water and blood plasma samples.

Constant-wavelength synchronous fluorescence spectrometry for simultaneous and rapid determination of five polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon residues in dairy products. LUMINESCENCE 2020; 36:353-359. Abstract
A new method for simultaneously determining five polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) (fluorene, benzofluorene, pyrene, benzo(a)pyrene, and perylene) in dairy products using constant-wavelength synchronous fluorescence spectrometry (CWSFS) was established in this study. Acetonitrile was chosen as the extraction solvent to extract the five PAHs from the dairy products, and an ultrasound extraction method was adopted. The supernatants were filtered using a 0.45-μm microporous filter membrane and concentrated to dryness with a nitrogen dryer. The extracts were then re-dissolved in cyclohexane for analysis. To overcome interference from the background matrix and between PAHs, the difference in wavelength (Δλ) at 40 nm was chosen for CWSFS scanning. With only one single scan, the five PAHs in dairy products could be distinguished and determined using the standard curve method without the need for previous chromatographic separation of the analyte solution. Detection limits of fluorene, benzofluorene, pyrene, benzo(a)pyrene, and perylene were 0.0051 μg·L-1 , 0.016 μg·L-1 , 0.021 μg·L-1 , 0.0056 μg·L-1 , and 0.0062 μg·L-1 , respectively. Recoveries were between 85.60% and 98.42%. These five PAHs in dairy products were determined with good results and therefore expected to be a routine detection method for PAHs in dairy products.

Abstract
In this work, in-syringe membrane solid-phase extraction (MSPE) device was fabricated for the on-site sampling of sulfamethoxazole (SMX) in food samples followed by solid-phase fluorescence spectra analysis. The samples and fluorescamine (FA) were added to a syringe for derivation. Then, the derivative of SMX was extracted by a membrane in the syringe SPE device. Subsequently, the derivative on the membrane was measured immediately without additional elution procedure. The method was successfully applied in plasma, milk, and egg samples for the trace SMX detection, with the recovery of 98%-102%, RSDs from 1% to 6%. Compared with liquid chromatography, direct detection of the concentrated analyte significantly improved the sensitivity. Moreover, fluorescamine made it unnecessary to separate SMX from the interference. Consequently, it was a time-saving, low-cost, and easy-operation method, which demonstrated the potential of in-syringe SPE as a promising candidate for on-site analysis.

Abstract
This critical Review covers the literature reports on analysis of different types of solid samples by the synchronous fluorescence spectroscopy (SFS) and its varieties, which include synchronous phosphorescence spectroscopy and synchronous luminescence spectroscopy, in the three decades (1990-2019). Both the qualitative and quantitative spectroscopic analysis is described for a wide range of specimens. Their physical forms and chemical composition include: a) organic and inorganic analytes pre-concentrated from solution on matrices (beads, membranes, filters, disks, paper), b) natural and synthetic multi-component specimens of complex composition (biological tissues, soil, polymers) and c) inorganic and coordination compounds including porous materials and particularly metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). The comparison with the data obtained by "conventional" optical emission spectroscopy and other analytical techniques (when available) is presented. The specific advantages of the high-resolution varieties of the method, the first- and second-derivative solid-state synchronous fluorescence, luminescence, and phosphorescence spectroscopy are described. An attention is also paid to practical conditions of the typical tests, and the relevant experimental setups. The impetus is on the emerging capabilities of this highly promising method e.g. in-situ monitoring of chemical reactions, in-vivo diagnostics, surface reactions, and detection of the adsorbate. The existing challenges are analyzed, and the unexplored application "niches" to further develop this and the related analytical methods are revealed. 145 references, 9 Tables, 17 Figures and 1 Scheme.

Abstract
Fumonisin B1 is the most prevalent member of a family of toxins, known as fumonisins, which occurs mainly in maize, wheat and other cereals. Due to its hepatotoxic and nephrotoxic in all animal species, very strict regulations have been imposed on the levels of fumonisin B1 in cereal and cereal-based foods worldwide. In this work, a rapid determination method of fumonisin B1 by membrane solid phase extraction coupled with solid-phase fluorescence analysis is developed. A rhodamine based fluorescent probe was used for derivatization with fumonisin B1. After derivatization and extraction by nylon membrane, the enriched fumonisin B1 can be detected directly on the membrane without further elution process that is placed in a designed spectra collection device. The established method showed a linear relationship in concentration range of 0.5-5.0 μg/L, with the R2 = 0.991, and a limit of detection of 0.119 μg/L. Method accuracy was further confirmed using LC-MS method by comparing the detection results of 3 corn powder samples spiked with FB1, that demonstrated equivalent results. The results of this study indicated that the proposed method was simple, sensitive, reliable and suitable for trace fumonisins B1 quantitation in corn-based feeds.
