Abstract
Enantioseparation of five β-adrenergic blockers was studied using two mobile phases on a cellulose tris(3-chloro-4-methylphenylcarbamate) (Lux-Cellulose-2) chiral column in normal phase mode. The first mobile phase composed of n-hexane: ethanol: diethylamine 60: 40: 0.1 by volume has successfully resolved the chromatographic peaks of three pairs of β-adrenergic blockers namely, bisoprolol, carvedilol and atenolol. A mixture of n-hexane: ethanol: diethyl amine 75: 25: 0.1 by volume was used as the second mobile phase to separate the four pairs of enantiomers, metoprolol, carvedilol, nebivolol and atenolol with high resolution values. The mobile phases were pumped at a flow rate 1 mL/min with column temperature 25 °C using a UV detector at 230 nm. Molecular docking simulations of the five pairs of enantiomers was carried out in the cavities of the chiral stationary phase to gain a better understanding of the interaction between analyte enantiomers and chiral stationary phase and to better understand the mechanism of chiral recognition. According to the results, hydrogen bond interactions and π-π- interactions were the main types of interaction involved in the chiral recognition. Molecular dynamics simulation was performed to investigate the solvent effect on the interaction of the five pair of enantiomers in the chiral stationary phase cavity under dynamic conditions.

Abstract
Development of preparative methods for the isolation of chiral molecules has been considered challenging by conventional unit operations due to their identical physical and chemical properties. This has evolved chiral stationary phases for the separation of chiral components using chromatography technique. However, separation method using chiral adsorbents requires high pressure, are expensive, and have low productivity. Generation of bulk quantities purified nebivolols using the available high pressure chiral separation methods is impractical and operating cost-intensive. Thus, there is a need to develop economical methods using nonchiral adsorbents for the purification of nebivolols or similar active ingredients. The present work demonstrates a unique and scalable tandem two-column method for the separation of isomers of nebivolol using inexpensive reverse phase adsorbents. The first column of the scheme causes removal of charged and nonisomeric impurities whereas tandem operation of second column increases resolution of d-nebivolol and l-nebivolol. The maximization of separation due to tandem operation of second column causes enhancement of the throughput of the process. The developed preparative process produces >98% purity of both d-nebivolol and l-nebivolol with overall loading capacity of 56 g (L of adsorbent)-1 and productivity of 20 g L-1 day-1 .

Abstract
The chiral pollution is a serious issue for our health and environment due to the enantio-selective biodegradation of the chiral pollutants. It has adverse impact on our society and science. There is a big loss of our economy due to the use of racemic agrochemicals. The most notorious chiral pollutants are pesticides, polychloro biphenyls, polyaromatic hydrocarbons, brominated flame retardants, drugs, and pharmaceuticals. More than 1500 chiral pollutants are present in the environment. Unfortunately, there is no regulation and control of the chiral pollutants. Therefore, it is an urgent need of the present 21st century to develop a data bank on the chiral pollutants, guidelines for controlling the production, sale and use of the racemic agrochemicals and the other industrial products. The Governments of the different countries should come forward to initiate the regulations. US, FDA, US EPA, and WHO are the most important regulatory authorities and should think about the chiral pollutants. The present article highlights the impact of the chiral pollution on the society and science. Besides, the efforts have also been made to emphasize the need of the regulations to control the chiral pollution.

Abstract
Liquid chromatographic separation of mirabegron enantiomers on Chiralpak AY-H, a column coated with amylose tris-(5-chloro-2-methylphenylcarbamate) as a chiral stationary phase, was studied under normal phase conditions. The influence of ethanol content (30-45%) and column temperature (20-40°C) on retention, resolution and separation were evaluated. Apparent thermodynamic parameters deduced from Van't Hoff plots were used to understand chiral separation mechanisms, and the chiral separation was enthalpy driven. The optimized chromatographic conditions were using a mixture solution of n-hexane, ethanol and diethyl amine (55 : 45 : 0.1, v/v/v) as a mobile phase at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. The column temperature and UV detector were set at 35°C and 254 nm, respectively. The method was validated to be simple, accuracy, sensitive and robust according to the ICH guidelines, and it was suitable for the routine quality control of mirabegron enantiomers for pharmaceutical industries.
