Abstract
A precise, Eco-friendly, and highly sensitive RP-HPLC method was employed using quality-by-design principles to concurrently identify cephalexin and cefixime residues in the manufacturing machines using a hypersil BDS C18 column (250 × 4.6 mm, 5 μm) at wavelength 254 nm. The Box-Behnken design was applied to obtain the best chromatographic conditions with the fewest possible trials. Three independent factors viz organic composition, flow rate, and pH were used to assess their effects on the responses' resolution and retention time. Overlay plot and desirability functions were implemented to predict responses of the high resolution and relatively short retention time using a mobile phase composed of acidic water: acetonitrile (85:15, v/v) at pH 4.5 adjusted by phosphoric acid with a flow rate of 2.0 mL/min. The spectral overlapping of the drugs was successfully resolved by the mean centering ratio (MCR) spectra approach at 261 nm and 298 nm for cephalexin and cefixime, respectively. Good linearity results were obtained for the suggested HPLC and MCR methods over the concentration range of (0.05-10 ppm) and (5-30 ppm) with a detection limit of 0.003, 0.004, 0.26, and 0.23 ppm, and quantitation limits of 0.008, 0.013, 0.79, and 0.68 ppm for cephalexin and cefixime, respectively, with a correlation coefficient of ≥ 0.9998 and good swab recovery results of 99-99.5%. A process capability index was accomplished for chemical and micro results, illustrating that both are extremely capable. The suggested method was effectively validated using ICH recommendations.

Abstract
In this work, a coordination polymer based on cobalt terephthalate was obtained and characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis, and scanning electron microscopy. The coordination polymer was tested as a sorbent for the solid-phase extraction of cephalosporin antibiotics, including ceftriaxone, cefotaxime, and cefazolin, from aqueous solutions. The coordination polymer had a high adsorption capacity (520.0 mg/g). Antibiotics adsorption followed pseudo-second order kinetic model and the Freundlich isotherm model. The calculated thermodynamic parameters indicate a spontaneous process. The resulting coordination polymer has good stability and reusability. The possibility of separating the studied cephalosporins on a chromatographic column filled with a coordination polymer was shown. This work opens great prospects for the development and application of a coordination polymer based on cobalt terephthalate for the removal of cephalosporins from ambient water.

Abstract
A biosensitive analysis method development and validation was performed for accurate and rapid quantification of cefdinir (CDR) in human plasma by a liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry technique coupled with electrospray ionization. Analysis was carried out using a C18 column with a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min and operating temperature of 30.0 ± 1°C. The drug was eluted by optimizing the m/z ratios of 396.20 → 227.20 and 428.17 → 241.10, for cefdinir and IS (internal standard), respectively. The intraday precision (%CV) for Cefdinir ranged from 2.8% and 6.7% as lower limit of quantification of quality control (LLOQ QC) and higher level of quantification of quality control (HQC QC), respectively, whereas these value were found to be as 3.0% and 5.6% for LLOQ and HQC, respectively after interday precision. Moreover, accuracy ranged from 107.70% (HQC QC) to 95.5% (LLOQ QC). The extraction mean recovery was found to be 83.91 ± 6.0% for cefdinir and 76.7 ± 6.23% for IS. The drug was stable throughout the analysis period. It was possible to analyze several plasma samples every day since each sample took <2.5 min to run. The method demonstrated successful quantification of CDR in human plasma, followed by pharmacokinetic profiles that were simple, accurate, sensitive and cost-effective.

Abstract
Aim: Pharmacokinetic evaluation of cefotaxime in neonates is currently a challenge due to the large volume requirement of blood for its analysis by existing methods. A dried blood spot (DBS) based method is the best alternative. Materials & methods: We validated an HPLC method for estimation of cefotaxime from DBS and plasma. Extraction employed a simple procedure using acetonitrile and buffer. Selective separation of cefotaxime was achieved on a C8 column using gradient programming. Results & conclusion: The linearity of the method ranged from 2 to 200 μg/ml with acceptable precision and accuracy for both plasma and DBS. Hematocrit was not affecting the assay accuracy. A strong correlation and interchangeability observed with the plasma method proves its clinical validity for application to PK evaluations.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIMS TDM of antibiotics can bring benefits to patients and healthcare systems by providing better treatment and saving healthcare resources. We aimed to develop a multi-analyte method for several diverse antibiotics using LC-MS/MS. MATERIALS AND METHODS Sample preparation consisted of protein precipitation with methanol, dilution and online extraction using a Turboflow Cyclone column. Separation was performed on a Synergi 4 µm Max RP column and deuterated forms of three antibiotics were used as internal standards. RESULTS We present a LC-MS/MS method for the quantitative determination of nine antibiotics, including five cephalosporins, the carbapenem ertapenem, the fluoroquinolone ciprofloxacin as well as the combination drug trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole from plasma. Additionally, unbound ertapenem and cefazolin were analyzed in plasma water after ultrafiltration using plasma calibrators. Results from routine TDM show the applicability of the method. CONCLUSION The presented method is precise and accurate and was introduced in a university hospital, permitting fast TDM of all nine analytes. It was also used in a clinical study for measuring cefazolin free and total concentrations.

Abstract
The isotope dilution mass spectrometry (IDMS) is a highly efficient method for tackling the ion suppression in complex matrix by ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS), but a lack of commercial internal standards is a limiting factor for these analyses. Herein, an economical and efficient strategy for the synthesis of 13C3-simazine via a three-step procedure was developed. The isotope-labeled internal standard was used for determination of simazine residue in soil samples. The quantitation method has a limit of detection of 0.015 μg/kg and quantitation of 0.08 μg/kg. The inter-day and intra-day precision of the method were below 4.6%. Recovery values were ranged between 92.9% and 99.2%. All the samples obtained from six provinces in China contained from 1 to 62 μg/kg of simazine.
