Abstract
Meyer-Schuster rearrangement of 3°-propargyl alcohol to the corresponding α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds under SOCl2 catalysis has been reported. Terminal and internal propargyl alcohols efficiently participated in the reaction. Furthermore, we have demonstrated the synthetic utility of conjugated carbonyl compounds to access densely arene-substituted pyrazolines bearing quaternary centers by reacting with arylhydrazine hydrochloride. Isotopic labeling studies were carried out to gain insights into the reaction mechanism.

Abstract
The Meyer–Schuster rearrangement of propargyl alcohols or alkynols leading to α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds is well known. Yet, electrophilic halogenations of the same alkynols and their alkoxy, ester and halo derivatives are inconspicuous. This review on the halogenation reactions of propargyl alcohols and derivatives intends to give a perspective from its humble direct halogenation beginning to the present involving metal catalysis. The halogenation products of propargyl alcohols include α-fluoroenones, α-chloroenones, α-bromoenones and α-iodoenones, as well as β-haloenones and symmetrical and mixed β,β-dihaloenones. They are, in essence, tri and tetrasubstituted alkenes carrying halo-functionalization at the α- or β-carbon. This is a potential stepping stone for further construction towards challenging substituted alkenones via Pd-catalysed coupling reactions. This review highlights the development of α-haloenone, β-haloenone and mixed β,β-dihaloenone formations from propargyl alcohols via direct electrophilic halogenations and metal catalysed-halonium interception rearrangements.![]()

Abstract
A one-pot, sequential Meyer-Schuster (MS) rearrangement of oxindole-derived propargyl alcohols to the corresponding α,β-unsaturated enones and their anti-Michael addition, followed by intramolecular azacyclization is described in a highly regioselective manner using Ca(OTf)2 as the promoter. Further, we described the one-pot MS rearrangement, followed by C(sp3)-H functionalization of 2-methyl azaarenes at α-carbon of these doubly activated alkenes. Control experiments and computational calculations were performed to propose the reaction mechanism.

Abstract
Treatment of the N-thiophosphorylated iminophosphorane ligands (PTA)═NP(═S)(OR)2 [PTA = 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane, 3a and 3b] and (DAPTA)═NP(═S)(OR)2 [DAPTA = 3,7-diacetyl-1,3,7-triaza-5-bicyclo[3.3.1]nonane, 4a and 4b] with an equimolecular amount of AgSbF6 leads to high-yield formation of the new one-dimensional coordination polymers [Ag{μ(2)-N,S-(PTA)═NP(═S)(OR)2}]x[SbF6]x (5a and 5b) and [Ag{μ(2)-O,S-(DAPTA)═NP(═S)(OR)2}]x[SbF6]x (6a and 6b), respectively. These new (iminophosphorane)silver(I) coordination polymers are efficient catalyst precursors for the Meyer-Schuster isomerization of both terminal and internal alkynols. Reactions proceeded in water, under aerobic conditions and using microwave irradiation as heating source, to afford the corresponding α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds in excellent yields, without the addition of any cocatalyst. Remarkably, it should be noted that this catalytic system can be recycled up to 10 consecutive runs (1st cycle 45 min, 99%; 10th cycle 6 h, 97%). ESI-MS analysis of 5a in water has been carried out providing valuable insight into the monomeric active species responsible for catalytic activity in water.

Abstract
The pentanuclear title compound, [V(5)(C(7)H(13)O)(10)O(5)], has a metal-oxygen core that consists of five vanadyl(IV) centres bridged by the O atoms of cyclohexylmethanolate ligands. This particular ring topology is new to oxovanadium(IV) chemistry and resembles the structure proposed for [V(5)O(15)](5-) on the basis of (51)V NMR studies in aqueous solution. The bulky cyclohexylmethanolate ligands adopt chair-like conformations and project outwards from the central cyclic core. The title compound crystallizes in a centrosymmetric triclinic unit cell, which contains four independent but chemically identical molecules in the asymmetric unit. The crystal structure is devoid of any significant intermolecular interactions.
