Abstract
A novel magnetic heterogeneous catalyst was synthesized through the immobilization of copper ions onto the l-arginine functionalized CuFe2O4@SiO2. The prepared catalyst was characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and Energy Dispersive X-Ray spectroscopy (EDX). The resulting catalyst was used in the ultrasonic-assisted synthesis of 1,2,3-triazoles via a one-pot three-component reaction of alkynes, alkyl halides, and sodium azides under green conditions within a short time. The catalyst reusability was investigated after five cycles and no significant loss of activity was observed.

Abstract
Nitrogen-containing heterocycles are important scaffolds for a large number of compounds with biological, pharmaceutical, industrial and optoelectronic applications. A wide range of different methodologies for the preparation of N-heterocycles are based on metal-catalyzed cyclization of suitable substrates. Due to the growing interest in Green Chemistry criteria over the past two decades, the use of supported metal catalysts in the preparation of N-heterocycles has become a central topic in Organic Chemistry. Here we will give a critical overview of all the solid supported metal catalysts applied in the synthesis of N-heterocycles, following a systematic approach as a function of the type of support: (i) metal catalysts supported on inorganic matrices; (ii) metal catalysts supported on organic matrices; (iii) metal catalysts supported on hybrid inorganic-organic matrices. In particular, we will try to emphasize the effective heterogeneity and recyclability of the described metal catalysts, specifying which studies were carried out in order to evaluate these aspects.

Abstract
Bio-active molecules having N-heteroarene core are widely used for numerous medicinal applications and as lifesaving drugs. In this direction, dehydrogenation of partially saturated aromatic N-heterocycles shows utmost importance for the synthesis of heterocycles. This feature article highlights the recent advances, from 2009 to April 2021, on the dehydrogenation of N-heteroaromatics. Notable features considering the development of newer catalysis for dehydrogenations are: (i) approaches based on precious metal catalysis, (ii) newer strategies and catalyst development technology using non-precious metal-catalysts for N-heterocycles having one or more heteroatoms, (iii) Synthesis of five or six-membered N-heterocycles using photocatalysis, electrocatalytic, and organo-catalytic approaches using different homogeneous and heterogeneous conditions' (iv) metal free (base and acid-promoted) dehydrogenation along with I2, N-hydroxyphthalimide (NHPI) and bio catalyzed miscellaneous examples have also been discussed, (v) mechanistic studies for various dehydrogenation reactions and (vi) synthetic applications of various bio-active molecules including post-drug derivatization are discussed.

Abstract
Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are porous materials formed through condensation reactions of organic molecules via the formation of dynamic covalent bonds. Among COFs, those based on imine and β-ketoenamine linkages offer an excellent platform for binding metallic species such as copper to design efficient heterogeneous catalysts. In this work, imine- and β-ketoenamine-based COF materials were modified with catalytic copper sites following a metallation method, which favored the formation of binding amine defects. The obtained copper-metallated COF materials were tested as heterogeneous catalysts for 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions, resulting in high yields and recyclability.

Abstract
Efficient adsorption of organic dyes from effluent has great importance for ecological and environmental protection. Herein, covalent triazine frameworks (CTFs) were constructed via the polycondensation of melamine and cyanuric chloride directly. Due to the numerous basic nitrogen atoms as high as 58.98 wt%, high BET surface area (670.2 m g-1), and hierarchical pore structure, CTFs demonstrated selective adsorption of anionic dyes in high capacity (e.g., a maximum adsorption capacity of 1581 mg g-1 for Congo red at 30 °C). The mechanism of the outstanding adsorption performance was carefully verified and ascribed to the electrostatic attraction and hydrogen bonding between CTFs and anionic dyes. The amine groups linking two adjacent triazine rings have primary responsibility for the superior performance. Unexpectedly, CTFs expressed a tuning synergetic effect for removing cationic dyes in aqueous solution coexisting with anionic dyes, exhibiting a great superiority in the specific and comprehensive treatment of organic dyes contaminated water. Furthermore, CTFs were stable and had long-periodic availability for more than 6 times, ensuring the adsorption rate higher than 90%. For better operation, hybrid monolithic aerogels were constructed by incorporating CTFs into polyvinylidene fluoride then casting in melamine resin foams. The obtained aerogels expressed high-efficient removal of anionic dyes coupled with convenient operation. This well-established metal-free porous material is a promising adsorbent candidate for anionic dyes selectively and even synergetic adsorption of cationic dyes in water remediation.

Abstract
Heterocycles have been found to be of much importance as several nitrogen- and oxygen-containing heterocycle compounds exist amongst the various USFDA-approved drugs. Because of the advancement of nanotechnology, nanocatalysis has found abundant applications in the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds. Numerous nanoparticles (NPs) have been utilized for several organic transformations, which led us to make dedicated efforts for the complete coverage of applications of metal nanoparticles (MNPs) in the synthesis of heterocyclic scaffolds reported from 2010 to 2019. Our emphasize during the coverage of catalyzed reactions of the various MNPs such as Ag, Au, Co, Cu, Fe, Ni, Pd, Pt, Rh, Ru, Si, Ti, and Zn has not only been on nanoparticles catalyzed synthetic transformations for the synthesis of heterocyclic scaffolds, but also provide an inherent framework for the reader to select a suitable catalytic system of interest for the synthesis of desired heterocyclic scaffold.

Uniform Cu/chitosan beads as a green and reusable catalyst for facile synthesis of imines via oxidative coupling reaction. RSC Adv 2020; 10:21009-21018. Abstract
A nonprecious metal and biopolymer-based catalyst, Cu/chitosan beads, has been successfully prepared by using a software-controlled flow system. Uniform, spherical Cu/chitosan beads can be obtained with diameters in millimeter-scale and narrow size distribution (0.78 ± 0.04 mm). The size and morphology of the Cu/chitosan beads are reproducible due to high precision of the flow rate. In addition, the application of the Cu/chitosan beads as a green and reusable catalyst has been demonstrated using a convenient and efficient protocol for the direct synthesis of imines via the oxidative self- and cross-coupling of amines (24 examples) with moderate to excellent yields. Importantly, the beads are stable and could be reused more than ten times without loss of the catalytic performance. Furthermore, because of the bead morphology, the Cu/chitosan catalyst has greatly simplified recycling and workup procedures. Uniform, spherical Cu/chitosan beads prepared using a software-controlled flow system as a green and conveniently recyclable catalyst for the efficient synthesis of various imines in short reaction time.![]()

[PMID: 31922150 PMCID: PMC6945398 DOI: 10.1186/s13065-019-0657-9] [Citation(s) in RCA: 25] [Impact Index Per Article: 6.3] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Key Words] [Track Full Text] [Download PDF] [Figures] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 10/20/2019] [Accepted: 12/18/2019] [Indexed: 01/04/2023] Open
Abstract
A hybrid magnetic material γFe2O3@Sh@cu2O was easily prepared from Shilajit (Sh) decorated Fe3O4 and copper acetate. The prepared magnetic hybrid material was fully characterized using different analysis, including Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), inductively coupled plasma (ICP), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET). All these analysis revealed that during coating of Fe3O4@Sh using copper salt (II), synchronized redox sorption of CuII to CuI occurs at the same time as the oxidation of Fe3O4 to γFe2O3. This magnetic catalyst exhibited excellent catalytic activity for regioselective synthesis of 1,4-disubstituted-1,2,3-triazoles via one pot three-component click reaction of sodium azide, terminal alkynes and benzyl halides in the absence of any reducing agent. High yields, short reaction time, high turnover number and frequency (TON = 3.5 * 105 and TOF = 1.0 * 106 h−1 respectively), easy separation, and efficient recycling of the catalyst are the strengths of the present method.![]()
